At night, the skies become a dazzling canvas of stars under one of Wales' official Dark Sky Reserves. This family-run camping field on our laid-back livestock farm is full of rustic charm. Pitch wherever feels right—tent or camper van. Dogs welcome but must always be kept on a lead and cleaned up after (dog waste bin on site, otherwise we are a leave no trace site and you should take your rubbish home with you). This year, we’re introducing the “Missing Camper Trail” hidden in the woodland—can you find Colin? You’ll also find a new zip line and a slackline for adventurers big and small. Mud Café and den building are still here, along with teddy bears scattered through the woods—no official trail, just hidden friends to find. Also new this season - a handcrafted washing-up area built by Farmer Ben from wood right off our farm. Coming soon: We’re hoping for showers this season, but we’ll update when they’re up and running. Wild camping here means no electricity—just two lovely compost loos and a covered cold-water tap. So bring your guitar, light a fire, and soak up the simplicity... The way camping was intended.

We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months. Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Historic Bradford-on-Avon is only a 5 minute drive and the City of Bath 15 minutes. For those who enjoy more rural pleasures, 200 metres from the campsite Farleigh Hungerford boasts the only river swimming club in the country, and you can become an instant member for a very small fee.

There is a footpath running alongside it taking you 25 minutes to a village shop one way and 20 minutes to a good pub the other way, all across fields. There are some amazing walks to do from the site, and being on the edge of the cotswolds there are plenty of pretty villages and market towns to explore. There are also some well regarded cycling routes in the area.

Our 7 acre property is a mixture of woodland and meadows with a fresh water spring and several fruit and nut trees. It is wild and mysterious with amazing sunsets and we are just a stones throw away from Shotover Country Park, which is the real Narnia. C S Lewis lived on the edge of Shotover woods and so we can fairly assume that Shotover is the inspiration for the Narnia trilogy. Shotover Country Park is one of Oxfords best kept secrets and consists of 280 acres of freely accessible woodland and open countryside. It is a paradise for dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists and also has natural sandpits for children to enjoy. We will be offering woodland rides from this location in 2026 as we need to do some fencing work first.

We had a wonderful weekend at Katherine’s place. The whole family made us feel so welcome and were incredibly friendly. It was a fantastic rewilding experience with beautiful open fields, a peaceful atmosphere, and thoughtful eco-friendly amenities. It was the perfect place to relax, reconnect with nature, and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thank you so much, Katherine, for such a lovely weekend. We can’t wait to visit again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Gurt’s Yurts. The campsite had everything we needed: fridge, toilets and showers, and in a beautiful location not far from Cheddar, Bristol, Bath, and the coast. Tim was very helpful and very welcoming. We would love to stay again.

Such a lovely, small campsite, beautiful setting and lots of space for the kids to run around. Tim was welcoming and engaging chatting each evening and morning to find out what adventures people had been on. The facilities were great with 3 flushing toilets and 2 showers, perfectly suited to a 6 pitch campsite. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip at Wolford Wood. Marcus and Petra made us feel welcome throughout the duration of our stay. They even offered late checkout, which was really appreciated. The campsite borders Wolford Wood, which is excellent for a relaxing woodland walk and birdwatching. We were able to select our own pitch, which is great if you want privacy. The campsite is 5 minutes from Moreton-in-Marsh, which has great restaurants and quirky shops. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Swan Island Glamping and Camping

Great little site right on the river — I’ve been coming for years and have always loved how close it is to the pub next door. I’m aware the site has changed ownership in the last few months, and this could be the start of something really good. That said, a few bits of feedback: the toilets, showers, bins and elsan point, while clean, aren’t at the standard you’d expect for the current price. Last year I was paying £20 per night, so a 75% increase alongside a reduction in services is disappointing. There used to be a shop on-site, and things like logs and firepits were available, which made the stay feel better value. Although I’m not overly impressed at the moment, I will still be returning multiple times this year, just as I have every year. I’m hopeful that with a bit of attention to the facilities-to-cost ratio, the site can get back to being the great spot it’s always been.

It's exactly as described: rural, beautiful and basic. I used it as an overnight on a bikepacking trip and it was perfect. It's in the Wessex downs, which are lovely and hilly! I'll be back if I can find a better route that doesn't include busy roads or hills that are like a cliff!

Katherine and her partner were so so lovely. They have a beautiful setting and very private beautiful landscape. Amenities were as stated and couldn’t have wanted more. We absolutely loved our stay, would definitely stay again. Even if they are busy you are completely undisturbed, because she put us in a different field as she had a big group the other field (you couldn’t hear them at all). 10/10 peaceful as advertised, great wildlife, including a few really friendly horses!! Thanks guys, will definitely be back :)

Weekend Trip to Abbey Home Farm

A lovely place to stay, facilities are excellent and the views are really good on whichever pitch you decide upon, with 3 options you have a choice of car camping, an open field or a wild flower meadow...fantastic. The Organic farm shop and cafe serve and sell some excellent produce and is a great place to relax, the staff are friendly and very helpful. My only gripe were the other campers, as it's a free pitch area you can set up where you like which is fantastic until it gets busy then some people with no respect for others privacy or space squeeze themselves in-between those who have already set up reducing the enjoyment slightly and your experience. My suggestion would be to add a 10 metre distance rule to those pitching up besides those that are already there to avoid any unpleasant situations. We had someone park/pitch pretty much next door to us with multiple pitches available in the same field which was disappointing. Overall I would highly recommend it but I would advise to get there early in the better weather.

Weekend Trip to The T Barn

We had such a wonderful stay at the shepherd’s hut and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, especially with the beautiful weather we were lucky enough to have — it made everything feel even more magical and relaxing. Everything was explained so clearly on arrival, which made settling in really easy and stress-free. The hut itself was spotless, well thought out, and had everything we needed for a cosy and comfortable stay. One of the highlights was definitely our meal at The Village Pub — it was honestly the best meal of the trip and made the whole experience feel even more special. We had the best time and would absolutely love to come back again. Such a perfect little escape to the countryside!
