We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months.
Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Historic Bradford-on-Avon is only a 5 minute drive and the City of Bath 15 minutes. For those who enjoy more rural pleasures, 200 metres from the campsite Farleigh Hungerford boasts the only river swimming club in the country, and you can become an instant member for a very small fee.

Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside.
Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

Based on the Beautiful Mendip Hills in Somerset we can offer spacious pitches, 2 self contained cabins (2 adults only without pets). The campsite is child and dog friendly, on bus route to Bath and Wells. We have a village shop and Village Cafe open 2 days a week. Shire Camping is located in a peaceful 10 acre meadow looking towards Edge Hill. Spacious and with running drinking water, hot showers and flushing toilets. There is a footpath running alongside it taking you 25 minutes to a village shop one way and 20 minutes to a good pub the other way, all across fields. There are some amazing walks to do from the site, and being on the edge of the cotswolds there are plenty of pretty villages and market towns to explore. There are also some well regarded cycling routes in the area.

Easy check in and check out, friendly owners. Produce and cider available to buy. Great location with close proximity to Bath (c25mins drive), Bruton, Frome and Trowbridge all nearby. Good shower and toilet facilities. Level pitches. Nice to have the river nearby.

Such a great campsite with gorgeous views and super quiet with different options to set up pitch with or without vehicle. Toilets were clean and warm showers. Farm shop was a little walk through the woods so you don’t get the hustle and bustle from that at all but still have access to food/drink by foot although the site is very near local shops by car too. Lovely little walk marked out too to wander around the farm. Staff at the shop & check in were super friendly and helpful, we felt really welcomed!!

The site was easy to find. The field is huge and very private so we could all park comfortably together. There are toilet facilities up at the farm and the staff were really helpful in directing us. There are some interesting walks from the site around the former RAF Windrush and the local pub can be accessed from the site across the fields so we could easily avoid walking on the main road. I definitly recommend it as an intro to wild camping or a peaceful retreat for those in a self-contained system.

Weekend Trip to Swan Island Glamping and Camping
We stayed in the Swan and Mallard Pods and the accommodation was perfect in a beautiful setting. They were super cosy with electricity, an en-suite and plenty of utensils. There is Ye Olde Swan nearby, which has just recently reopened and is ideal for pub grub and a drink. Adenira welcomed us and was so helpful and friendly.. We would definitely recommend this little gem of a setting on the banks of the River Thames.

wow don't know where to start Sammy was so amazing it felt like home. gorgeous pwople. made us feel very welcome outstanding. wish didn't have to leave. hot tub was so amazing even in the cold Xmas nights. gorgeous.
