Longash is a traditional granite farmhouse smallholding on the southern edge of Dartmoor, sitting above the moor with views stretching across open moorland towards Princetown. This is proper Dartmoor — wild, ancient and extraordinary.
Sleep in a Lotus Belle canvas tent on a raised timber platform, with a wood burner for cool evenings, a king bed, and the sound of nothing but wind and birdsong. Step outside to a fire pit under one of the darkest skies in the South West.
Due to the pristine nature of the lotus tent and the fact that we have livestock there are NO DOGS ALLOWED on bookings.
The land itself is the attraction. Natural wild swimming on site, a Neolithic stone row a thousand metres from the door, and unlimited moorland walking from the gate. The Dartmoor Inn at Merrivale is a 750 metre walk — an acclaimed open-fire restaurant serving exceptional meat, well worth the short walk across the moor.

We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months.
Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

Great place to explore from and the cafe was just perfect, serving delicious food from the farm. Shop with honesty box really useful for last minute meals at the campsite too. This was a truly unique experience that my two boys (6 and 8) loved. Morag made us feel very welcome and gave them lots of opportunities to interact up close with the animals, the rabbits and pigs being their favourites. The camp has a relaxed feel and is really welcoming of well-behaved dogs. Having a river that the kids (and dog) can play in all day was a treat in the hot weather. I would recommend taking some cooking pans because they did get taken by other campers, making them in scarce supply. This is not a luxury experience but one that certainly puts you at ease, with comfortable surroundings and all the basics you need. My boys have talked about it every day since we have been and are keen to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay with Stef and Ian with four friends sharing the yurt (one double bed and two camp beds pre-made for us).
The private space is secluded from other parts of the farm and the views are beautiful to wake up to each morning.
We really appreciated the facilities available, including a pizza oven, bbq, sink with running water, electricity, hot plate, dishes, cutlery, wooden bench seating and a private compost toilet. We also had access to the main shower and toilet block, just a short walk uphill and the onsite bar and honesty shop (great for a top up of fire wood).
The only thing that we would have benefitted from is an area of shade or tarp that could be pulled over the seating area, as we lucked out with the weather being so warm!
Thank you both. We would definitely recommend and may very well be back for a return visit in the future.

Weekend Trip to Felin Uchaf Meadow Camping
This place is so unbelievably whimsical. we stayed in the roundhouse bunkhouse and it was just perfect - even through storm Dave. We woke up to the sounds of animals and the stream just outside our patio each morning and it couldn’t have been any better. The volunteers at Felin Uchaf are just amazing - they keep the place so clean and tidy and it is perfect for anyone to visit. The only thing I would add is we could’ve done with a heater/heated blanket etc as there was a storm when we was there - but that is our own problem for becoming unprepared. I will 100% be returning to this site.

Weekend Trip to Felin Uchaf Meadow Camping
Loved everything about this place. Excellent vibes. Great sense of laid back community around (and I'm including the trees and the piglets and the ducks wandering around, alongside the beautiful folks running things and the neighbors and other visitors hanging out at the cafe) while also very much having the solitude we were seeking. My first time in the country, and I felt very at home here. We got great recommendations for beaches to go to as well. I hope to go back before too long.

We loved camping in the bell tents. The views were amazing. We loved that the sheep and donkey roam around the campsite area. The kids activities were a lovely touch and my son enjoyed taking the goat for a walk. We will be back some day!

Lovely spot on the Lynn peninsula. Close to Nefyn with a nice beach and some other amazing beaches close by. The cabin was spacious for 3 and having the BBQ and fire was amazing. Thank you John.

This is a lovely place to stay. The railway carriage was very comfortable and very well laid out, packing a lot of functionality into a cozy space. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. It’s just a short drive to several must see places like Bath and Avebury henge.

We had a wonderful time, excellent location by the river, pub and town. It was very quiet and we had enough space for our three families to run around and enjoy all the nature available! We hired the canoe and paddle boards which were fab. The beds were very comfortable and warm, toilets and showers were decent enough but did get messy quickly with all the usage. The wash up station was very basic and some of the outside benches were a bit tatty so because of that, probably an 8/10 BUT great for families.

Hot tub and sauna are a big plus.
Farm is quiet and very close to all North Devon has to offer.
Accommodation is actually very spacious. 4 fit easily in each room.
Highly recommended. We had a fabulous weekend, I could’ve stayed longer.
