Look, I could go on about how peaceful this place is⌠or I could rave about the shady camp spots, and the kind of serenity that makes your phone battery last longer because youâre too chilled out to scroll.
But I wonât.
Because if too many people find out how good this place is, I might never be able to get a booking again at my favourite camp.
So please- do yourself a favour and donât come. Itâs too quiet. Too beautiful. Too relaxing. Probably not your thing.
(Unless you're into that sort of horrible stuff.)

We love coming here and have been a few times now!
The unplugged bush relaxation is just what we needâwhen the biggest dilemma is deciding whether it's time to go for another swim or cast a line, you know you've found the perfect spot.
Phill and Anne do a fantastic job keeping the grassy sites well-maintained, and the portaloos are always clean with toilet paper replenished daily, which is much appreciated.
It's not a matter of *if* weâll be back, but *when*!

Past trip
BB's Bay
in Jarbia Acres, New South WalesIf your after a central location to explore lennox, bryon, ballina and the hinterland. This place is so central. It was a perfect base camp.
You can see the surrounding properties, with the perception of being close, but they are acres away and you can't hear them at all.
The creek would be great in summer. There is an access gate but the kids came and went under the barb wire fence easily. It was so peaceful falling asleep to the sound of the flowing creek.
The cows came to visit at the fence each day. We loved trying to make friends with them.
We had the place to our selves. Which was amazing.

This is a great value, very central spot. We did day trips to woodgate and Burrum heads.
We used the provided kayaks. Fished off the bank and off the jetty.
We caught fish and mud crabs and plenty of snags.
You can camp right on the river bank and plenty of grassy options. The cows came to visit and were happy to let us pat them.
There were some mozzie and a few midges but nothing bug spray didn't fix.
We will come back to this little spot.
Past trip
in Hope Valley, QueenslandYou're crazy if you book this one!
Another fabulous camp site at Hope Valley.
We meet Anita at her homestead and she showed us to the camp site.
It was up on a hill with complete privacy. Every other camp site was booked out, though you would never know as we couldn't see or hear anyone else.
A 4WD and off road van in a must to access the property and camp site. There are multiple creek crossing getting to the property and 2 on site. The road is rutted and the grass slippery on the paddocks. Very doable with the right gear.
We were greeted by the roving cows, sheep and horses. The kids loved saying hi to the pigs each day and exploring along the creek bed and rainforest. The kids were thrilled when Anita asked if they wanted to help feed the horses. It was their highlight!
Hope Valley is a perfect location to explore the surrounding forestry if your into 4WDing.
This wasn't our first trip and it won't be the last. We love this place.

Anne and Phill are wonderfully friendly. The camping areas are well maintained, fire pit with portaloo, which is immaculate.
Huge bin or fire wood supplied for $20.
The river was great, with the free hire of kayak the kids and adults we kept busy for hours.
Lots of fish frames found with huge scales, but no luck for us this time.
We came on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. Great bush camping with lots to see and do.
We highly recommend sropoibg in to Texas to see the rabbit works. Such amazing Australian history.
We will be back!

Past trip
in Crystal Ridge, QueenslandGreat little find. Right on the river bank. Water was crystal clear. Great concrete slab with astroturf to set up around.
Fire pits dotted around the 2 camping areas. Would be great for a group booking.
2wd access, very easy to find, instructions were great and host quick to respond.
Its location to cardwell and Townsville make it a great little stop over place heading up or down the coast or for a weekend getaway.
We will definitely stay again.
Past trip
The Knob - Site 1
in Prime Mary River Camping, QueenslandGreat spot, well worth the visit.
GREAT spot for large or small groups. 5 camper trailers in tow with plenty of room more.
Easy access, well maintained dirt road to the site. Caravan accessible too.
5 min walk to the river with kayak access also.
Lots of places to explore
Huge fire pits supplied and fire wood can be purchased from the host or you can collect your own from the forestry on the fence line.
Cows going about their business and kangaroos chillin in the shade. A really great place to sit back and relax.
Kaye even delivered some fresh eggs for us. They were huge and delicious!
We will be back.
