Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. There are two cabins now on the property, but one is brand new and private and not accessible- it will be vacant for your stay. There is also a private sauna, but is also not accessible. The cabin pictured is in the middle of a private 5-acre property across from Turtle Lake and spans turtle lake road, to Donnelly and Poke Road, so it’s easily defined by the roads around the land. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby. The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available. This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

Located steps to Tom Thomson Trail, 2km to Irish Mountain Lookout, and within minutes of Meaford, multiple Bruce Trail trailheads, and Georgian Bay beaches. It was perfect for Ziggy, and I. The poor house ....lol great name for it . Lots of trails around if you love nature and quietness it's the place to go .

We had such a great stay! The hosts have clearly put so much time, thought, and effort into the property, and it really shows. Everything was well cared for and set up to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was such a nice spot to get away for the weekend, and we really appreciated all the little details that made the experience even better. The hosts were wonderful, the property was beautiful, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

14 nights at Peaceful Off-Grid Cabin Retreat

We truly enjoyed the time of solitude we had at this family owned off-grid-cabin in the woods. There was plenty of potable water, stove to keep us warm, indoor compostable toilet, good cell reception to our surprise, close to local stores for groceries, a very cool outdoor shower available, and comfy bed. All we needed to do was bring our food and clothes! We saw a deer on the road on the way in, not far from the cabin and the birds each morning loved to sing their songs. A place to have beautiful walks. A real taste of nature. We could not deny hearing the juvenile great horned owl during the night awaiting for their mother to bring a rodent! Thank you to Cari, for the great hospitality in providing a quiet place to relax and refresh!

1 night at Freestyle farm

You won't be disappointed! The Bunkie in particular is extremely well made and smells of fresh pine. You really feel at home in there with tons of room for even a fairly large group to sleep (even though we were only two). Dana is friendly and super accommodating. We loved the animals and she even gave us a free cantaloupe from her garden! The Bunkie is somewhat close to the house, but they're very quiet and respect privacy (and even turned out there lights early so it truly felt like you owned your site. When you arrive you're greeted by a nice big 'hate had no home here' sign, and that's very accurate! If I had to leave a critique, I guess I'd say that having a better electric situation and a shower would have been nice, but Dana told us that's coming soon! But don't wait for that. Go here now!

Weekend Trip to 40 Acre Woods at 29&1 Private Venue

Sarah and Mike are exceptional hosts from being accommodating with our changing timing upon arrival, having firewood and a comfy bed set up for us to helping us navigate accessibility to ensuring there were little things like candles and lights throughout the cabin. Any time we had an issues or concern they were immediately available to support and made us feel welcomed. I would go again not just for the cabin and the woods but to say hi what feels like friends. Thanks again for an incredible weekend.

Renée and Warren have a very nice piece of land with a small lake and island. We stayed in the Poor House, which was very comfortable and had a lovely pine smell. The cabin had no electricity but was well equipped and had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and communicative.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing night stay on Sarah and her husband’s property! They were so kind, and let us know that if there was anything we needed we could ask them. Very private area in the back woods of their land with a wonderful fully lit walk to the cabin. The outhouse was very clean and actually quite cute! We will 100% be staying here again :))

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Off-Grid Cabin Retreat

We came out here for a peaceful getaway as most couples would. But, we never expected our cabin to feel like home for three nights and having the most scenic view just from the back porch. Sure the rain kept us from having a fire in the back but that didn’t stop us from seeing all the amazing outlooks and trails!! I would recommend this place for ones who enjoy the quiet and greenery when being stuck in the city life!

Weekend Trip to That Place In The Woods

Although we used the cabin mainly as a place to just sleep for this trip, my five year old and I enjoyed our stay. The woods were cute and everything was easy to find / get to as described by Jennifer. We would love to come back sometime and actually spend some more time in nature and camp here. One thing I will note is that the property was a little bit more run down than in the photos, maybe as if nobody had been there for a while (ie. I didn't feel quite comfortable going through the art trail as the start had some fairly long grass and weeds and was worried about ticks with my son and the door of the screened in lounge was hanging off the hinges). These things didn't hinder our stay at all.

We loved the cosy bunkie, comfy beds and fire pit. Loads of dry wood provided. Wonderful waking up to see peacocks across the way, goats, piggy’s and mini horses stretching in the field while sipping a coffee. Host home is close to the Bunkie so definitely nice when staying on your own. Typical beautiful Huntsville countryside. Very chill stay at the funky bunkie.

2 nights at That Place In The Woods

Gorgeous cabin and campsite near Muskoka and Gravenhurst. The cabin was clean, the shower was surprisingly nice, and it was super affordable for a few nights away. The parking spot was big enough for our truck and the 17 foot boat we were towing, and the path into the cabin has lights so it’s easy to get back to even at night. The only slightly confusing thing is that there are multiple unused cabins, and this is the “bear cabin,” which is one that’s to the left. The host also has firewood on site and a place for trash and recycling that are a safe distance from the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was exactly as described in the listing and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It truly felt like a luxury glamping experience. The last 250 metres leading to the cabin is a bit bumpy, but it’s well worth it. The cabin is secluded, peaceful, and offers plenty of privacy, making it the perfect place to disconnect from city life and immerse yourself in nature. We had an amazing time and would definitely love to come back!
