Located a stones throw from the small town of Roberts Creek. There is a general store, restaurant, cafe and shops. Beaches, forest hiking and biking trails are also just a few minutes walk. The experience is 'staying at your friends place'. We love to meet new people and show off our corner of the world, it is a beautiful spot! Bring your own tent, or small RV. There is a pop up tent, table and chairs, propane fire pit and a 'camp style' potty. *It is not a waterfront property, some of the images are of nearby attractions. *Pets are OK but must be supervised at all times, there are other animals in the area. *It is a beautiful forested site but we are near town, so there can be some noise. We hope to see you!

We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Southside Nanaimo

The location is very close to downtown Nanaimo and all the amenities and services it has to offer. The campsite is quite private, tucked in behind the house and shaded during the day. If you are here on a Thursday evening in the summer, be sure to take in the Night Market from 5 to 9 PM on Commercial Street in our thriving downtown. There is an electric hookup for an RV, water is available, and a generous gravel strip for the RV parking spot provides space to set up portable camping equipment. A large open area is also adjacent to the campsite. Propane fire pit is available on request. A picnic table and chairs are on site. Dogs are welcome, but please note the backyard is not fenced. With rabbits and other small wildlife in the area, dogs must remain on a lead or under control at all times. We do have chickens on the property that are contained in their own safe run with a tidy little coop for shelter. They are currently producing lovely rich eggs that are about medium sized. You are welcome to purchase a dozen for only $6.00. The chickens have a good, healthy life and are provided with fresh greens every day to supplement their non-gmo feed. Their soft chirring in the morning is delightful, and they are released from their coop into their run around 8:00 AM. You might enjoy their antics through the day! There is no sewer/septic hookup on site at this time, but an RV dump station is located nearby.

The property is home to a small business. Trevor lives in a single-family home on the property, and there is also a workshop on-site. The fruit and vegetable orchard attracts a variety of birds and rabbits throughout the year. The nearby wetland is often home to great blue herons, bald eagles, and owls. Evenings are peaceful, and the area comes alive with the songs of many bird species. The campsite is adjacent to an eco forest.
