Pootcorners is an active alpaca farm with a large bush area. Tents sites available will be either in the bush (site 1) or in a pasture near the alpacas. Bush site (site 1) does require a short hike (300 metres) to access it.  Vehicles are not permitted at the bush site but may be parked on the field lane.  RV sites (sites 2 and 3) are limited to the field lane near the alpaca pastures or pasture areas, when available.  Tents may also use sites 2 or 3 and set up in the grass beside the field lane.  The only outhouse is in the bush at Site 1.

Fire rings are available for all sites.  Site 1, in the bush, has a private fire ring.  Sites 2 and 3 share the fire ring in the front yard.  No fires are allowed in the pastures, if you chose to set up a tent in a pasture site.  Firewood is available for $10/ per large tote of wood.

Electrical hookups and water hookup are available for Sites 2 and 3.  Please indicate when reserving these spaces what you need.

The bush is full of wildlife, trees, and wild plants. Printed guides for hikes to identify wild plants and trees are available. Snowy owls, bald eagles, pileated woodpeckers, indigo buntings, wild turkeys, and many other birds are common around here.  Deer have been known to bed down for the night next to a tent in the bush.

Palmerston, about 8 km away, has a fascinating railroad museum. Drayton, 15 km away, has the Festival Theatre and access to Conestoga Lake and Conservation Area

Suelaine was a gracious host :) very friendly and accommodating. We will be back ! The weather was rainy so hopefully next time we won’t have to spend most of our time in the RV and we can enjoy the farm next time 🦙😃

We enjoyed our views of grazing alpacas and the beautiful fall colours. It is very quiet at night. Suelaine is very friendly and has a genuine love for her alpacas and we learned a lot about them. A wonderful place to spend a few nights with fantastic hosts!

Suelaine is a true professional here at Pootcorner's. The farm is so well operated and very well cared for, it's obvious that the family has a great respect for the land and their animals. There are so many options for camping and RVs, the lot is spacious. Fortunately for us travellers there are also all season options for setting up camp with a permanent wood frame back in the forest. Lots of things to do and experience here, and really great for kids!

Pet friendly, this is a really nice location for dogs to get exercised as long as they're friendly with the other animals.Back in the woods is where the tent camping is, it's quiet, private, and very open.Nestled in the woods near the tent camping is an outhouse which is really nice, especially if traveling in a larger group. Some of the male alpacas greeting us as we passed on by.

Suelaine was very friendly, accommodating and informative. I was a solo camper and so enjoyed my conversations with her. She recommended me places to see nearby. Her family was very sweet as well and helped me out when needed. Luckily her farmland is near a town so grabbing some coffee or food is 5 mins away! Washroom is a little more secluded if you’re right in front of the alpaca farm but only 300m distance. Lastly, she was very responsive

Suelaine and Peter were very friendly, and both the property and our camp site were beautiful and peaceful. We camped on the bush site which was a manageable walk from where we parked. The alpacas were also adorable and a really fun feature of the trip. We thank you, Suelaine and Peter for your warmth and hospitality.

Alpacas! Amazing to see the attention they give to Suelaine. Especially noteworthy when 2 males were fighting, to see how they stopped instantly, giving rapt attention to her reprimand. Suelaine is a seasoned scout with a wealth of information. We picked up quite some tips from her, like head netting against the mosquitoes, which will all be gone with the 1st frost, and how adding pine branches into campfires will release sparks. Just be careful. We did that at the next campsite, in the thunderstorm. What a wonderful experience! Missed the opportunity to walk the alpacas. Our 1-night stay is too short.
The pasture is a great place to camp in, for its view. Green space ahead and starry sky overhead.
Great place to return to for a few nights!
Thanks, Suelaine, for making your place available at such a great price. Be blessed.

Suelaine was a great host. Peter and Benjamin were kind and unfailingly helpful with everything, given this was the first ever time that we RVed. The farm is peaceful and the alpacas are gorgeous. Our kids had a wonderful time with Sir BP and the alpacas.

Suelaine and her family are amazing generous hosts! The alpacas are absolutely adorable and you can’t help but smile and feel welcome at Poots Corners. We rented the forest camp site and it did not disappoint. Mind you it is very rough terrain and Suelaine wasn’t kidding about the mosquitoes 🦟 so I wouldn’t suggest it for glampers, best suited for people who aren’t afraid to rough it the traditional way! We will definitely go again, as it’s a nice little tucked away hide out, close enough to the city but far away enough to hear the coyotes howling in the near distance!
Thank you so much Suelaine,Peter and Isaac!

It was an amazing experience to stay with Suelaine and her family. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and helped with anything we needed. We learned so much about the farm because they took the time to answer all of our questions about the animals. It was a special treat to get to help as well.
