'Whispering Pines' was bought about 35 years ago as our dream retirement home, a place to rest, have a quiet life, enjoy nature and have a peaceful retirement for ever and ever...In past years we have been a family camp. and an event camp with camping festivals, special events, and day visits. Now we welcome visitors who are looking for a casual, rustic, laid back experience with nature in a simple, peaceful setting.
Nature is allowed to thrive on our property, and the entire property is forested and wild. The majority of our campsites are shaded under a verdant and lush canopy. Our private beach and small lake welcome you for a swim.
All we ask of our visitors is: that whatever you bring in you take home with you, that you leave your campsite and the property the way you found it, and the only thing you take from here are pictures and happy memories.
All of our campsites are off-grid, un-serviced, drive-in camping. Campfire wood and recycling facilities are available on site. Maintained outhouses are available throughout the property. There is no potable water on the property so please bring your own drinking and cooking water.
Children under 12 can camp for free. When booking a campsite please only include any guests over 12 years of age in your guest count. Children under 12 do not need to be included in your booking.
Contact us to inquire about large group and event rates. We host LARPing weekends twice a month. We also have a limited number of seasonal sites available from June to September.
I love this property and all the people who visit us, many have become extended family and for this I am grateful. There is nothing nicer than to have people drop by and spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend, sometime when I get real lucky it's for a longer period of time :-)

We absolutely loved the suspended tent experience and secret paradise on Alex's land. It was heaven. Super private, so much space and little corners to enjoy peace, beauty and nature's rhythms. Alex is an amazing host, even the wildlife on his land are happy, playful and fun. We enjoyed watching the otter family swim all day, who made sure to get our attention multiple times. We felt safe, supported and left very inspired. We are grateful and very blessed for this experience. Thank you Alex :)

We had an amazing stay at this campsite over the weekend! The location is perfect, peaceful, scenic, and exactly what we were hoping for. Alex was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was set up for a comfortable stay. You can really tell they put care into the place. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

We went tent camping and picked out a site from a lovely selection, so much space and privacy which we really appreciated. Eileen was very welcoming and kind. This is a great spot to wind down in nature and spend quality time with loved ones. The beach is nice and spacious. I will say if you are looking for a large clear water lake to swim in this may not be the best candidate but Wispering Pines makes up for it in other ways. Happy camping:)

Fantastic land, feels like it’s welcoming you as soon as you arrive. Eileen is a wonderful lady. Plenty of camp sites with options for more or less privacy. Great little playground for kids and a swimming pond with little beach. 100/10 will definitely be going back

Eileen is such a very sweet lady all throughout our stay. We stayed for 3 nights with 2 kids and they both loved it. There are tons to do to keep your kids busy. There is the playground and the small pond/ lake.
You get to choose your own campsite. Not all of them has picnic tables. It's private and there's lots of trees for some shade.
The campground is very rustic and is a nice way to get in touch with nature.
When I told Eileen that one of my kids got stung by a 🐝, she immediately gathered leaves for remedy and offered other solutions for relief. She's always around and available when you need help. She even lent us a booster cable for the car, lol.
All in all, we love Eileen's land and we are planning to come back. My only comment are the outhouses that I think need some improvements. They are dispersed around the campground so whichever site you choose, outhouses are just around the corner.

Beautiful wooded space with an amazing friendly host !
We had a great weekend and wonderful time a very calm and quiet camp ground with great friendly neighbour's. The campsites are clean and very naturesque . Its a very woodsie and natural vibe . I would definitely recommend if you want to get away from city life and just take it easy around a fire .
Quite a few spots that are great for star gazing and catching the moon , we had a great time and plan to go back !
Not necessarily the most entertaining for teens so maybe plan some activities to bring and help keep entertained , though there is a cute little man made beach and a small parc for younger kids .

A wonderful place to relax. This was our first camping trip with the kids, and we are very pleased. It’s perfect for families. Everything is clean, comfortable, and surrounded by nature. The tent sites are beautiful and cozy. There is a children’s playground right in the forest. Highly recommend!

We really liked the campground. It was spacious and private. Couldn’t even hear the other campgrounds around us. The little beach was enjoyable. Please note that you can’t drive up to the site and you need to use a wagon to bring your stuff (about 5–10mins going uphill) and there’s only water at the entrance of the campground. Also, if you hear howling at night, it’s the huskies next door and not wolves. Would definitely go back!

This campground is magical, very special. It is very peaceful, very quiet. At night, All I could hear were the wind blowing in the très and someTimes the animals roaming around at night.
The Forest is absolutely stunning. I got to choose if I wanted to camp under pine trees, Apple trees, oak…
This place is the place of like rustique camping.
Oh! And Eleein is a lovely lady. The love for her very special forest transpires in the way she keeps it so authentic.

Our family really enjoyed the camp site and the beautiful private forest Alex shared!
We booked camp site #3. The site is clean, ground is even. It is close to the beach. You feel like you have the whole forest.
The lake and the beach is wonderful. The water is clear, and you can barefoot stand on the lake. Alex also provides caneo for the guests. Our beagle leant to swim in the lake !
Alex is very friendly, responsive, providing clean instruction accessing the campsite. Chatting with Alex, made you feel like you are visiting a friend.
We definitely will come back to this campsite when we visit this area.
