This beautiful, historic property was one of the first to be settled in the early 1800s. The credited first settler in Charleston, Vermont; Abner Allyn and his family owned this farm for 100 years! Our family began restoring the farmhouse as well as beginning a small regenerative farming operation in 2022. Currently we have a small flock of broilers and layers, turkeys, ducks and guineas. Our birds are fed an organic feed local to Vermont and are pasture raised. Freya an Luna are the Great Pyrenees' about the farm. They protect the flocks from predators. They are working dogs and have access to the entire property. For this-and other reasons, we discourage bringing pets to the farm. A sweet brook meanders through the property which all sites have access to as well as stunning views of bald mountain. Lovely farm views throughout the seasons. Multiple trails for exploring can be found on and off farm. Trail heads to multiple mountains are within a few minutes of campsites. Lake Willoughby is a short 4 miles away, 7 miles to Island Pond, as well as endless hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and more.

My Girlfriend and I had a perfect night of camping thanks to Don and Luna. Don was very accommodating and extremely kind. He helped us with anything we needed like camp gear as well as firewood. Each campsite was amazing with a lot of thought and effort put into it. If you want a more private camping experience, this is a great spot for it! We will certainly be back!

Great tent camping experience. Quiet, great walking trails, amazing views, Surrounded by gardens, apple trees, grazing cows and you will be among several old historic buildings and farming implements from 1800's. I real bargain for the price! I went on a Monday into Tuesday when the museum and buildings were closed, this made for a private quiet experience. If you go during open times or peak summer/ fall times you may see more tourists passing through. Look forward to going again!

Donald was a generous and thoughtful host. He upgraded me from the tent site to the lean to, and gave me a full tour of the property. The lean-to was fully equipped to keep out mosquitos, Donald has clearly put so much love and work into the sites and his land. The dogs he had staying with him were so friendly! This was the perfect mix of campung and glamping, I will absolutely be back!

The spot is basic and completely wild, but that’s exactly what makes it special. No crowds — just peace. 🌿 The ground is flat enough for a tent, with space for one or two campers. It’s only accessible by foot, which makes it feel truly remote. In the morning, I woke up to birdsong and soft sunlight filtering through the trees — such a calm and grounding way to start the day. 🌳 There are a few lovely little trails nearby, perfect for a peaceful walk through the woods. One of the highlights was the cozy riverside area with chairs and a hammock — such a perfect place to relax, read, or simply listen to the water. 🌟 A big thank-you to Paule and Benoît, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. Their generosity and good energy added a really special touch to the experience. A little hidden gem for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy the raw beauty of nature. 💚 I’ll definitely be coming back.

Excellent site pour faire du camping! De plus la terre possède de nombreux sentiers aménagés très joli. À savoir que le site est à découvert du soleil donc ça fait très chaud quand le soleil tape le matin! Stéphan est un host amical qui avais des conseils utiles à partager! Ce fut un plaisir.

Parc National du Mont-Orford

Nestled among the towering peaks of Mont Orford and Mont Chauve, Mont-Orford National Park lets hikers take in majestic views from Bear Peak via Cretes Trail and Pekan Trail.
