Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Elana and family were wonderful hosts! I booked a few days just to “get away” and reset, and this was a perfect spot to do so. The animals (mini donkeys, oh my goodness!, the goat who welcomed me alongside Elana, the ducks that swam around the pond…) and the “Enchanted Forest” were highlights. I would have stayed longer (much longer!) if I could, and hope to be back next year… maybe to see baby donkeys or Highland cows? :) Thanks so much for a lovely weekend.

I had a lovely stay! Renee was kind (even though I mistook her for another camper!) and understanding, and the place was exactly what I was looking for for this visit: quiet and all to myself! 2 nights at Coutts Farm

This was one of our favourite Hipcamps. The lake was busier than we are used to but it was a long weekend so totally expected. We appreciated the private feel of the campsite being nestled in our little corner and we customized the site with tarp shelters and a hammock to lay about in the afternoons. The night sky was gorgeous with the moon and the sound of waves to keep us company. One should keep in mind that there are elevation changes at the site that could prove challenging for some. I was able to portage our canoe down to the water and back up to our vehicle but the pitch through the trees and down to the beach could prove tricky. Overall, we liked the secluded, civilized-rustic feel of the space: not Crown Land but sounds of the forest gave it a wild feel.

Weekend Trip to Toanche Haus

Lovely couple and extraordinarily lovely acreage home. Borders a forest on a couple of sides. Quite private. The host was gracious enough to offer us electricity in our small RV. Well kept yard. The dog was a real treat.

Weekend Trip to The Farm

Woody and Elana were the kindest and most welcoming hosts, their camping area was absolutely stunning with the peaceful sounds of nature and animals. Their home and farm was the cutest and they have fresh eggs for sale which were amazing too! If you’re considering where to go camping I would wholeheartedly recommend camping here! Thank you both so much for the experience and welcoming ambiance!
