1 night at Camp Willowbrook

My friend Ellyn and I had an incredible stay at Angie and Bob’s cabin! Communication with Angie before and during our stay was exceptional! The cabin itself is exactly as described and as looks in the pictures. Angie even went above and beyond and set up the second bed downstairs before our arrival. There are plenty of solar lights available to keep you lit up in the evening, but certainly bring your power bank to charge your phone 😉. We booked the sauna and tub (decided to use as a cold punch rather than a hot tub) and that was phenomenal. Angie even has essential oils for you to use in the sauna which elevated the experience even more. The absolute must of your next day has to be the Kota dinner experience. Seriously if you’ve never done this before I highly recommend. We spent the evening maybe two or three hours chatting with Angie, Bob and her brother Shane all well grazing on the tastiest food to be grilled and applewood smoked over the fire. She is so creative in her food options and there wasn’t a thing that either of us didn’t absolutely love. I’m actually drooling thinking of that dinner. We spent some time with their two dogs, and even got to visit their horses, baby chicks, chickens, cats, and cow! Overall, this was an unbeatable experience, and the only thing I regret is not booking a longer stay. We will be back. Thank you, Angie once again for everything you’ve done to make our stay above and beyond!

Weekend Trip to Camp Willowbrook

Had a fantastic stay at Camp Willowbrook! This was our second time back and we hope to return again. Angie is a welcoming, friendly and very helpful host. The property is beautiful with all the amenities you need for a relaxing getaway. Sweating in the sauna, cooling off in the river and getting fresh eggs from the chicken coop... what more could you ask for?!

Weekend Trip to Villa Vida Loca

This was such a memorable camping experience. The host, an elderly gentleman, warmly greeted us and kindly explained everything when we arrived, which made us feel immediately comfortable. He even showed us the fresh eggs laid by his chickens — such a charming touch! There was plenty of firewood prepared, so we really enjoyed sitting by the fire. The cozy bedroom made our night warm and restful, and we loved being able to take a peaceful walk to the nearby lake. Most of all, the privacy of the site made it feel like a true retreat. We’d love to come back again for sure!

Weekend Trip to Forest Bunkie on Bruce Trail

Looking to disconnect to reconnect? To star-gaze, watch butterflies and hawks, discover trilliums, trout lilies on a fern-shrouded hillside? This bunkie is a private cocoon nestled at the top of a hill, one minute walk from the Bruce Trail. The cozy bed, living space and welcoming cookies immediately reminded us why we were there: to slow down, breathe deeply, and take in the view. If you cherish the quiet places, love to linger in the forest, this is the perfect spot. Hosts Twila and Gren are welcoming, knowledgable and eager to share their love for this space. And if you want to further indulge in a guided Forest Bathing walk, Twila offers that too! It is a great way to really get to know this precious place, and to really slow down. We truly felt we had sheltered in an emerald nest. The only precaution is that there are stairs to access this bunkie—it would be challenging for those with limited mobility.

Great customer service, beautiful place, the scenery, the quiet, was amazing. The outdoor washrooms were very clean and fully functioning. The construction of these bathrooms, does not feel like you are outside at all. That with the outdoor shower was a great supplement to our stay.

My first winter camp was a success. I was in touch with Nancy prior to my trip to ensure I was prepared, directions were clear and response time was appropriate. On arrival I met with Kemp, he showed me around, gave me a map and supplied me with sufficient firewood to stay warm. Kemp and Nancy were flexible with check in and check out times. Overall I had a great experience, I learned a lot and I look forward to doing it again. Thank you for your hospitality and thank you for the fresh brew of coffee.

Weekend Trip to Cedar & Bough Nature Retreat

We stayed at the cozy Cedar Cabin this long weekend during a blast of winter weather. Jaeda checked in with us beforehand and offered some generous options if we needed to rebook, but because we have a capable vehicle in the snow and really needed a quiet winter retreat we kept our reservation. We had a wonderful time keeping warm with the woodstove, while it snowed outside, in the cabin. We enjoyed reading, resting, cooking and exploring around the grounds. We loved making winter campfires outside each night and the cabin looked like it came out of a Hallmark movie in the falling snow. Chris checked in on us and dropped off lots of extra firewood, made sure the power was working nicely for our stay and we had a good chat. Jaeda was always in close contact and dropped us off breakfast in the am which was lovely. The bed was warm and comfy. There is a little speaker where we were able to stream some of our favourite music and listen to the local radio as well. We would love to return for a skate on the pond or a swim in the summer. The cabin felt like home right away and it was a much needed break for us. Thanks again!

2 nights at Mountain Farm

It’s a wonderful spot near the Bruce Trail and an excellent choice for through-hikers. I’ve stayed here 3 times and still haven’t walked all the side trails nearby. Nancy and her husband go well out of their way to make sure I have everything I need. I will be back again.

Camp Willowbrook

We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. We have three separate sites for our canvas platform tents. Sunrise Suite and Orchard Oasis are nestled between our pastures and orchards, offering farm life immersion. Spruce Sanctuary offers more seclusion and privacy in one of our farm's woodland zones. All of our tents come fully furnished with a super-comfy queen-sized bed, bedside tables, and furnished patio. There is also a fire-pit, with firewood supplied at your site for your evening campfire and stargazing.
