We were able to park our trailer, have water and electricity with some hoses and extensions. We felt in a very private and safe place, we will be reaching out again for our next trips to the area. Appreciated that Shelby communicated and met me upon arrival. Was an easy set up and interesting location. Animals are super cute. I imagine the ranch is very lovely in summer. I liked the signage which made it easy to navigate. There’s The Danish Place nearby which is also cool. Was only there for one sleep but was a nice stop on my way back to Ottawa.

John provides a beautiful property to camp on, and a nice way to wrap a day of bike packing. The area is quiet and serene, with a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Having an outhouse, and stations with snacks and fresh water was very convenient. I will definitely camp here again if I'm bike packing in the area.

My wife and I wanted to introduce our 5 month old to camping, and this was the perfect experience. Our host was incredibly accommodating and has created a comfortable and welcoming environment. I would highly recommend this location to anyone, whether you just want a quiet night away or you have never camped before.

3 nights at Chapelwood Chalet

Amazing experience. Me and my partner stayed for three days in early September and it was such a cozy and comfortable stay. Is clean private and perfect for people that love the outdoors. Indoor wood fire was a great way to stay warm and made for amazing ambiance. Jake made the experience super easy and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Hicks Haven

The Love Shack was super cozy and the hosts, Marilyn and Jim, were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Love Shack had everything we could possibly need, pretty much all we needed to do was pack our clothes and food. Upon arrival, we met with Marilyn and her fuzzy little friend, Maggie (she’s such a playful cutie). Marilyn shared with us some vegetables from her beautiful garden and also had a fireplace put it in for our stay (which we were extremely grateful for) as the place was getting a bit chillier now. And Jim lit us a lovely fire to enjoy in the night so we can keep warm while enjoying the quiet under the stars. Overall, the entire stay from beginning to end was amazing and we would absolutely be going again!

Weekend Trip to White Pine Forest Farm

The property is private and serene. We stayed by the field in a camper van, used hydro and loved the fire pit, table and chairs and the jug of water that were provided upon arrival. The location is very close to Goderich and the beach. We stayed one night but will rebook for longer periods next time. Melanie is nice and generous. She let us pick raspberries and gave us 2 zucchini’s to take home. Thank you for the warm welcome. Blessings, Aimee and Fernando

Weekend Trip to White Pine Forest Farm

We had such an amazing camping experience yesterday! 🌲✨ Our host, Melanie, was incredibly humble and welcoming. She went out of her way to make sure we had every comfort we needed—right down to helping us charge our phones. The campsite itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with clean washrooms, a defined path, table, and chairs. The setting was perfect for stargazing, enjoying a cozy bonfire, and simply relaxing in nature. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we truly appreciate Melanie’s warmth and attention to detail. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable camping getaway!

This place is a hidden gem! An off grid cabin with all of the comforts of home. Jake has thought of everything, hot water shower, wood burning stove, water coming from the tap, what more could you ask for! You even get lights at night. Can’t wait to go back!

1 night at Cottonwood Manor

If you are a bikepacker and you are riding the G2G (Guelph to Goderich trail) or you are anywhere close to Millbank... This is your place! The camping spot is basically beside/part of a resting area halfway of the G2G, which is managed by John and his family. Worth to mention: John is part of the board of directors of the G2G also which speaks about his commitment and dedication to his place and everything related with the G2G: lots of space to choose where to set your tent, toilet-water-shower-firewood available, easy to socialize with the (many) trail users, John is always ready to provide answers/suggestions to your requests... Moreover, you don't always have the chance to sleep beside a cemetery... Million thanks John!!

Weekend Trip to Maitland River Campground

I’ve have come to Cardinals Nest twice and both times I have loved it. The cabin is beautiful and spacious, and hosts have all basic amenities you need in it. They also have started adding water jugs to the cabin which was super helpful. There is a nice stream for puppers to play in and a ton of room to roam/ hike. Cabins are spread out so you don’t feel cramped. Very highly suggest !
