Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. This cabin is lovely! It is clean, fully stocked with cooking essentials (pots, pans, plates, knives, etc), and the host is very thoughtful, communicative, and helpful. I stayed here twice - on my way to the east coast and on my way back.

There was more perks then listed in the ad we were grateful for the levelled deck platform for the tent and the provided barbecue , although we didn’t need it ! Was a nice extra ! Lake was within walking distance via the dirt road ! And another just a short distance in a vehicle ! Plenty of firewood !

Incredibly comfortable and secluded cabin. Has everything you could need without plumbing. (Toilet that doesn't smell and works great, outdoor shower is to die for, large jugs of water with nozzles like a sink faucet) Makes everything feel like your off grid but still have amenities. Still feels so off grid and was just such a peaceful stay.

We loved camping on Fred’s land! Fred was very personable and kind, and gave us a thorough tour of the campground. The sites were spacious and clean, with electric plugs, fire pits, and tables available. They also have a private beach and dock for site guests, with a public beach and park on the other side of the road. Also, their general store has anything you may need, or want, while camping, including fire starter, ice, and Kawartha Dairy ice cream! We were so pleased with our experience and can’t wait to return!

Amazing spot! There were way more things available than mentioned on the site. It was peaceful, and we loved being able to walk about 30 minutes to reach a beautiful lake for swimming. Super comfy and perfect for luxury-style camping. We also loved having warm muffins and fresh eggs every morning — and the hosts were incredibly kind

Great spot !! Very quiet, private and relaxing. We loved spending time on the porch rocking chairs. Bed is very comfortable, as is the futon. The outdoor shower worked out great. Cari provided us with a perfect amount of water. All questions were answered promptly. We ventured out to local spots including Santa’s village, Port Sydney Falls, Tall Trees restaurant and Bellys ice cream in Huntsville. Nice middle spot between Huntsville and Bracebridge. Highly recommend !!

Simply Wow! if you like pure nature, not too much crowd, then this is the place. Fred and Jill (owner) are very friendly. Plus the one and only store has everything you need. Will book this place again. i would like to mention here that #1 and #2 are flat surface which is good for Tent campers. #3 is uneven. Thank you Fred.

I had an amazing experience at Fred’s campsite! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The check-in process was smooth and Fred was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great tips on local hiking trails and nearby attractions. The campsite itself was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature and lake. We loved waking up to the sound of birds, the fresh air and lake view. The lots were spacious, offering plenty of room for our tent and gear without feeling crowded. It was such a treat to sit by the fire at night under the stars. Whether you're looking for a relaxing escape or an adventure-filled weekend, this campsite has it all. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back!
