Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2003, a welcoming alpaca farm. The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years. In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush. The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas. June is the birthing and breeding month. They birth quickly, so watch carefully. Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunities to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website. Recycling bins are available but please take non-recyclable garbage with you when you leave.

The grandmother of her best friend owned the farm when she was a little girl and she played in the house all the time growing up. Pat purchased the farm in 1997 and has been here ever since.Fun Fact: Pat's first pony named Scout, grew up on this farm. He raised the kids of 2 different families before he was given to her by her parents for her 4th birthday. Thus began her lifelong passion for all things equine.

Once upon a time this property consisted of an 18 acre apple orchard and a 10 acre Maple Sugar bush with evidence of it scattered about the property.  I have owned the property for over 16 years now, and moved here from Toronto about 4 years ago, living in nature has become my life.  The property is full of Wild life and history.  The 18 acre orchard was turned into a white pine forest about 40 years ago and has recently been thinned out to promote healthy growth.  Bee hives have recently become part of the life that exists here.  The area is surrounded by a Mennonite community and the Amish are also within a 15 minute drive from here.  On the map you will see that this property is a part of the original Queen's bush.  The highest point in the township with amazing views all around.  Here to enjoy and experience for all.Learn more about this land:64 acres of forests, a pond and an open field filled with wildflowers, butterflies and a vast variety of Birds. Pat grew up only 2.5 miles from where she lives now with her husband Gerry.

With short, sandy beaches and cement piers that encourage relaxing, scenic walks, this harbour is the perfect spot to travel for a magnificent view of the waterfront. Just a short walk from Queen Street, it’s easy to daytrip to the impressive lighthouse and return to a campsite near town by nightfall.

About 30 kilometres south of Kincardine rests MacGregor Point Provincial Park, known for its picturesque coastal dunes, sandy beaches, and diverse ecosystems. With camping options for both tents and RVs, campers can immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors and enjoy the park’s washrooms, and picnic areas, too. Then, hike, birdwatch, canoe, and stargaze without ever leaving the park.

When to go

Comfortable temperatures and longer daylight hours occur from late spring to early fall in Kincardine. This is an ideal time for campers to explore parks, enjoy beaches, and engage in outdoor adventures—especially since peak tourist season is in the summer, where temperatures average between 20 to 30°C. Wintertime in Kincardine has colder temperatures, potential snowfall, and limited facilities, which can make it challenging to camp or hike.
