John provides a beautiful property to camp on, and a nice way to wrap a day of bike packing. The area is quiet and serene, with a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Having an outhouse, and stations with snacks and fresh water was very convenient. I will definitely camp here again if I'm bike packing in the area.

Amazing experience. Me and my partner stayed for three days in early September and it was such a cozy and comfortable stay. Is clean private and perfect for people that love the outdoors. The campsite was clean, well-kept, and had all the essentials we needed. What really stood out was Bill’s hospitality. He welcomed us warmly, gave helpful tips about the area, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. You can tell he takes real pride in keeping the place beautiful and making guests feel at home. Whether you want a peaceful retreat or a base for outdoor adventures, this is the perfect spot. My partner and I took a long weekend and stayed at the cedar creek cabin site. Upon arrival we met with both randy and Renee, they welcomed us and showed us the way via atv. (We followed in our car) they led us through a river (only ankle drop at that spot) and over a smaller creek which our car had no issues doing. Upon entering our site, we were astounded at how large of an area our campsite was! It was huge! And everything was provided for us except our food, and extra firewood which we were able to buy as we needed. There were many trails we could explore, and along the main road, there were places you could leave your name, and a dog library (take a stick, leave a stick) We brought our almost 11 year old lab who loved every moment of it! We also brought our bird, who also loved being in a new location. The property is huge, the other campers were very friendly, and I have no complaints! The weather was cold at night, but we were told ahead of time to bring extra blankets which we did! The extra care that is put into this by randy and Renee, is outstanding! I totally recommend you to this place.

The property is private and serene. We stayed by the field in a camper van, used hydro and loved the fire pit, table and chairs and the jug of water that were provided upon arrival. The location is very close to Goderich and the beach. We stayed one night but will rebook for longer periods next time. Melanie is nice and generous. We had such an amazing camping experience yesterday! 🌲✨ Our host, Melanie, was incredibly humble and welcoming. She went out of her way to make sure we had every comfort we needed—right down to helping us charge our phones. The campsite itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with clean washrooms, a defined path, table, and chairs. The setting was perfect for stargazing, enjoying a cozy bonfire, and simply relaxing in nature. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we truly appreciate Melanie’s warmth and attention to detail. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable camping getaway!

If you are a bikepacker and you are riding the G2G (Guelph to Goderich trail) or you are anywhere close to Millbank... This is your place! The camping spot is basically beside/part of a resting area halfway of the G2G, which is managed by John and his family. Worth to mention: John is part of the board of directors of the G2G also which speaks about his commitment and dedication to his place and everything related with the G2G: lots of space to choose where to set your tent, toilet-water-shower-firewood available, easy to socialize with the (many) trail users, John is always ready to provide answers/suggestions to your requests... Moreover, you don't always have the chance to sleep beside a cemetery... Million thanks John!!

I’ve have come to Cardinals Nest twice and both times I have loved it. The cabin is beautiful and spacious, and hosts have all basic amenities you need in it. They also have started adding water jugs to the cabin which was super helpful. There is a nice stream for puppers to play in and a ton of room to roam/ hike. Cabins are spread out so you don’t feel cramped. Very highly suggest !
