Camp is on 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek on the western border and back up through a hemlock forest along south border. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. Set up to be most natural, minimal mowing, and sites meant to be more private. We let you know if you have others on property. No running water or flush toilets on sites unless in your self-contained camper. A compost loo provided. Lots of kindling can be easily gathered for a fire. Consider ordering some ahead of time if it has been raining though. There is a tarp and a wheelbarrow to collect logs and kindling and move to your site.

Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content.

This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. The Roller-Coaster Road Ranch offers many maintained trails, perfect for hiking. The property is mainly forested, but does contain numerous open spaces perfect for a rustic camping experience. The farm has a few large open fields that are plowed and planted seasonally. Various wildlife populates the area; whitetail deer, turkey, black bear, and bald eagles. A stocked trout stream passes through portions of the property and connects to a larger stream with many options for swimming, wading, and crayfish hunting. The Trout Camp site is located at the confluence of two trout streams at the valley bottom, it is an open wooded area in view of a dirt road. The Main Bridge site is located along a trout stream in the valley, offers the most privacy, and is gated. The Valley View site is located at the top of a hill along side a cornfield, with spacious views, beautiful sunsets, and cell service, but does not offer direct access to the trout streams.

We are located in beautiful Clearfield county Pennysalvina. Our farm is on over 150 acres. It’s has been in the family for generations. It has beautiful farm views with wooded areas. There is lots of wildlife to see. Including bear, bobcat, deer, eagles, fishers, and many other species. We have lots of hiking trails and our property also boarders state game lands. It’s a short drive to the Susquehanna River and other parks. You can also enjoy the cows, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and turkeys at the farm. Contact the host and set up a time to visit and feed the animals. Learn more about our family farm and the animals. We also have a sawmill and wood shop. Nearby is Bilgers Rocks, Rock Run Atv Park, Prince Gallitzin State Park, the Susquehanna River, and many other fantastic outdoor activities. It’s a place to unwind and relax. And connect with nature. This is in a very rural part of Pennsylvania and camping in the winter weather can be difficult. So please prepare yourself with additional sleeping bags for winter. The tent is heated but because of the unpredictable and sometimes dangerous weather you need to be prepared. The bathroom is also outdoors so there will not be a shower provided till after the freezing weather. And the loo is not heated. It is also recommended that you have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to get to the campsite in the winter. It is possible to walk from road to site. But you should consider this when booking. RTR is a very beautiful place in the winter but it can also be dangerous if you’re not prepared.

Nestled in Pennsylvania Dutch country, between a large dairy farm and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge, Too Far Out Farm is favored for its natural beauty and tranquility. Residents of TFO Farm include horses, sheep, and various other friendlies of the canine and feline varieties. You could set your watch by the evening visits of our neighbors: A herd of very social dairy cows, who always seem to mosey on down right around supper time every evening. The primitive campsite will accommodate tents or a small RV. Don't worry about nosey or annoying camp neighbors, because we only book one group at a time - YOURS! The campsite includes a large fire ring, a limited amount of cut and stacked wood, a composting toilet and a small camp table. There is room for a smaller rig if you want to bring your RV or ATV. ATV or horse trail riding delights many a visitor all four seasons of the year around here. Our herd may be available for horseback riding on the back roads of Penn's woods, but please let us know ahead of time if you want to trail ride. I'm sorry, but we cannot accommodate your personal horses at this time. The farm is within walking distance of hiking and cross-country ski trails that meander through the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. Also, Crawford County's best kept secret for Perch, Walleye and Blue Gill fishing (including ice fishing) is a mile away at Sugar Lake. If you come for the hunting, (in season) let us know in advance and we will help you secure the proper permits and learn the rules of the refuge. Speaking of the wildlife, come armed with your binoculars and a good camera. Common sightings include high and low-flying Bald Eagles and other birds of prey, as well as many varieties of colorful, native song birds. You may also encounter other woodland creatures, such as, White-Tail Deer, Black Bears, Coyotes, and of course, smaller furry critters, like raccoons, fox, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, beavers, ground hogs and opossum. This was the perfect little space to get away from life in the winter. The little propane heater was enough to warm up the space in the middle of the night and early morning. I didn't have the right gear to hike in the snow but I will be back to try out the trails in the spring! There was plenty of fire wood and a solo stove which we didn't really use but I appreciate that it was available. Also the hosts were very friendly and offered extra lights and things to make my stay more cozy. I will most definitely be back with better gear ❤️ Thank you again for making this quiet space available for people to get away from the busy world!

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Our host showed us around her farm and the site was nice and private. It dropped to 2 degrees during our stay but we were able to stay warm with layers and the propane heater kept up just fine. Can’t wait to go back next year!

3 nights at Neal Homestead Camp Sites

The cabin is by a stream and a magical patch of woods. There were plenty to explore and my friend and I had a great time. The pink trail was a great walk, but it was also fun to just follow along the creek if you don’t mind traversing back and forth the creek. Near the banks of the creek there were some interesting fungi. We also found a deer skull. It’s a hunting permitted area so depending on the time of year you would need high vis gear, which we didn’t have but used whatever we could find on walks. It’s also close to the lovely town of Brookville so that’s there for people who want a few hours on the town or ice cream. It’s a real no fuss place and yet it has everything you would need staying at a somewhat primitive cabin. Offers just enough shelter for people who want to spend time in nature in the winter but are not super hardcore about the weather/ doesn’t want to spend money on a lot of winter specific gear. The fireplace heats up the upstairs sleeping area really well. We were here during Christmas time, yet some nights we were sweating in our sleeping bags. Downstairs doesn’t heat up that well and if you’re bothered by it you’ll have to keep a flame going through the day. Host was communicative and attentive, someone came and checked on us at one point too. Plenty of firewood was ready for us. Only wish there was more potable water though, but we bought jugs of water ahead of time so it was never a problem. Overall a great time and definitely would come back.

Rebecca and her family were magnificent hosts for our family. They were so kind, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The tent itself was so cozy and the bathroom very clean. We enjoyed making s’mores atvthe campfire and gazing at the beautiful starry sky. We even got to meet the farm animals before we left. It was a great to have our own private space and we highly recommend staying here!

1 night at Ridge Top Retreat

Ridge Top Retreat is, by far, the most unique and well-done Hipcamps I’ve visited. The interior of the tent is beautifully decorated and the propane furnace kept it toasty warm on a cool fall evening. The “outhouse” has a portable toilet and a hot shower with an instant water heater powered by solar panels. The host provided plenty of firewood and even started a fire for us! With no ambient light, the stars and Milky Way were beautiful! The setting is gorgeous, set on a high spot with an incredible view across the hayfield to a beautiful country church and cemetery. I highly recommend this very special place.

Weekend Trip to Clarion Heights

Ed upgraded me to the pavilion site for free, as it was available and it was raining, with more expected over the weekend. It was such a cozy spot, and I loved the lights and having a dry place to keep all my gear! The loft was a cool bonus! Ed and his dad were both friendly and super accommodating. I purchased the firewood bundle, and it was more than I needed for two nights. They even gave me some fire starter and found a space heater that I could use in my tent if I got too cold. I saw deer out in the field in the evening, and the crickets singing was peaceful. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the constant droning background noise which I think was from the papermill down in town. It kind of made for a white noise at night, just louder than I liked. But the hosts have a good piece of land up there on the hill. They had a map of the property. There are trails that I didn't even have time to explore because I was out visiting parks for much of the day. This campground was a great base from which to visit Kinzua Bridge, about a half hour away. They have a variety of campers to stay in also. It was a fun fall getaway, and the hosts were a pleasure!

Weekend Trip to Ruby's Rocks

Amazing evening for a camping trip. Had plenty of fire wood for an evening back after exploring all day. Host was hospitable and the site was private and well maintained with everything we could have needed!

2 nights at Ridge Top Retreat

We had an amazing time! We traveled with our two boys and enjoyed the fire and all the land, we saw so many stars at night and slept so well. The tent was adorable and so cozy with the heater. Thanks to Becky for a great couple of days!
