Camp is on 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek on the western border and back up through a hemlock forest along south border. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. Set up to be most natural, minimal mowing, and sites meant to be more private. We let you know if you have others on property. No running water or flush toilets on sites unless in your self-contained camper. A compost loo provided. Lots of kindling can be easily gathered for a fire. Consider ordering some ahead of time if it has been raining though. There is a tarp and a wheelbarrow to collect logs and kindling and move to your site.

We are located in beautiful Clearfield county Pennysalvina. Our farm is on over 150 acres. It’s has been in the family for generations. It has beautiful farm views with wooded areas. There is lots of wildlife to see. Including bear, bobcat, deer, eagles, fishers, and many other species. We have lots of hiking trails and our property also boarders state game lands. It’s a short drive to the Susquehanna River and other parks. You can also enjoy the cows, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and turkeys at the farm. Contact the host and set up a time to visit and feed the animals. Learn more about our family farm and the animals. We also have a sawmill and wood shop. Nearby is Bilgers Rocks, Rock Run Atv Park, Prince Gallitzin State Park, the Susquehanna River, and many other fantastic outdoor activities. It’s a place to unwind and relax. And connect with nature. This is in a very rural part of Pennsylvania and camping in the winter weather can be difficult. So please prepare yourself with additional sleeping bags for winter. The tent is heated but because of the unpredictable and sometimes dangerous weather you need to be prepared. The bathroom is also outdoors so there will not be a shower provided till after the freezing weather. And the loo is not heated. It is also recommended that you have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to get to the campsite in the winter. It is possible to walk from road to site. But you should consider this when booking. RTR is a very beautiful place in the winter but it can also be dangerous if you’re not prepared.

This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content.

Our herd may be available for horseback riding on the back roads of Penn's woods, but please let us know ahead of time if you want to trail ride. I'm sorry, but we cannot accommodate your personal horses at this time. The farm is within walking distance of hiking and cross-country ski trails that meander through the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. Also, Crawford County's best kept secret for Perch, Walleye and Blue Gill fishing (including ice fishing) is a mile away at Sugar Lake. If you come for the hunting, (in season) let us know in advance and we will help you secure the proper permits and learn the rules of the refuge. Speaking of the wildlife, come armed with your binoculars and a good camera. Common sightings include high and low-flying Bald Eagles and other birds of prey, as well as many varieties of colorful, native song birds. You may also encounter other woodland creatures, such as, White-Tail Deer, Black Bears, Coyotes, and of course, smaller furry critters, like raccoons, fox, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, beavers, ground hogs and opossum. The farm has a few large open fields that are plowed and planted seasonally. Various wildlife populates the area; whitetail deer, turkey, black bear, and bald eagles. A stocked trout stream passes through portions of the property and connects to a larger stream with many options for swimming, wading, and crayfish hunting. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content.

Our herd may be available for horseback riding on the back roads of Penn's woods, but please let us know ahead of time if you want to trail ride. Also, Crawford County's best kept secret for Perch, Walleye and Blue Gill fishing (including ice fishing) is a mile away at Sugar Lake. Ridge Top Retreat is, by far, the most unique and well-done Hipcamps I’ve visited. The interior of the tent is beautifully decorated and the propane furnace kept it toasty warm on a cool fall evening. The “outhouse” has a portable toilet and a hot shower with an instant water heater powered by solar panels. The host provided plenty of firewood and even started a fire for us! With no ambient light, the stars and Milky Way were beautiful! The setting is gorgeous, set on a high spot with an incredible view across the hayfield to a beautiful country church and cemetery. I highly recommend this very special place.

Ed upgraded me to the pavilion site for free, as it was available and it was raining, with more expected over the weekend. It was such a cozy spot, and I loved the lights and having a dry place to keep all my gear! The loft was a cool bonus! Ed and his dad were both friendly and super accommodating. I purchased the firewood bundle, and it was more than I needed for two nights. They even gave me some fire starter and found a space heater that I could use in my tent if I got too cold. I saw deer out in the field in the evening, and the crickets singing was peaceful. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the constant droning background noise which I think was from the papermill down in town. It kind of made for a white noise at night, just louder than I liked. But the hosts have a good piece of land up there on the hill. They had a map of the property. There are trails that I didn't even have time to explore because I was out visiting parks for much of the day. This campground was a great base from which to visit Kinzua Bridge, about a half hour away. They have a variety of campers to stay in also. It was a fun fall getaway, and the hosts were a pleasure!

Weekend Trip to Ruby's Rocks
The host was outstanding, the spot was super cute and easy to camp at and it was a great experience. The spot is right off the road, across the street from a stream and down the street from a dam where you can easily go hang out and/or fish without a lot of other people around. There's a picnic table, swing, trash can and fire pit, as shown in the pics. The pond is right next to the campsite, yet somehow I did not get bothered by a single mosquito even though they eat me alive in my own backyard that does not have any kind of water nearby. It was really convenient and just a super easy place to camp. My only warning to other campers is not to park too far in beyond the fire pit- my dumb arse got a Jeep Gladiator stuck in the mud. Susan and her husband had to come tow me out, which they did with ease and they were really nice about it, even though I interrupted their entire Sunday. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you.

We enjoyed a peaceful, 3 nights at the boondocking site beginning of October. If getting away & immersion in nature but near conveninences is attractive you have found the spot. It's easy access from Rt 80. If you have a low rear clearance on your rig don't take the "no truck" route down Madison Avenues steep hill, continue on Rt 322. Our map apps using the street address came up as Corsica & that worked. GPS had destination beyond the entrance so keep an eye out in advance for the Hipcamp sign. The gate is not a typical swing gate. It's a "piston"(can't find proper name) gate that is moderately hard to slide open. Be prepared to have some physical capability to enter the site. It is a great feature to add security. Lock worked easily. When you enter the "gate" there are signs not far from gate that were confusing to us. Arrows appear to be opposite of the correct way to enter according to hip camp directions for boondocing camp. We ignored that sign & followed the directions from app & we were successful. The road back to site is not bad at all. Our 24' shuttle rv conversion with bumper basket didn't scrap or have any issues. Trail to the stream thats indicated in description, is off of road between boondock site & adventure camp & marked w a tire with a utility flag. Site has some very minimal road noise. Large opening that was great for solar even in fall. The aroma of sweet grass permeated the air & we enjoyed the bird sounds. We appreciated & consider the lack

I have been staying at various HipCamp spots while driving across the country and this one is unique (in a good way)! The property is beautiful and the cabin is right next to the road so very easy to find/access. I enjoyed having both the fireplace and the composting toilet :). I would stay here again.

Marie’s land was nothing short of beautiful. The campsite was clean and cozy, with both useful and fun supplies to make us feel welcomed. The cleaned porta-potty was very much appreciated. The sink and shower with hot water was a rare find for my group and I, but a game changer! We included the farm tour with Marie during our stay, where we learned about the farm’s upcoming, fed the animals, and collected some eggs for our breakfast. The town was sadly experiencing a drought, so our plans to tube down the river turned into floating around the farm’s pond- I think that turned out to be my favorite part! The incredible stargazing (and shooting stars) also deserve some attention. As a heads up, our group didn’t get any service out at the site (though the towns just a short drive away). I highly recommend Marie’s land to anyone looking for a secluded yet entertaining camping trip. We would love to come back!
