Nestled in Pennsylvania Dutch country, between a large dairy farm and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge, Too Far Out Farm is favored for its natural beauty and tranquility. Residents of TFO Farm include horses, sheep, and various other friendlies of the canine and feline varieties. You could set your watch by the evening visits of our neighbors: A herd of very social dairy cows, who always seem to mosey on down right around supper time every evening. The primitive campsite will accommodate tents or a small RV. Don't worry about nosey or annoying camp neighbors, because we only book one group at a time - YOURS! The campsite includes a large fire ring, a limited amount of cut and stacked wood, a composting toilet and a small camp table. There is room for a smaller rig if you want to bring your RV or ATV. ATV or horse trail riding delights many a visitor all four seasons of the year around here. Our herd may be available for horseback riding on the back roads of Penn's woods, but please let us know ahead of time if you want to trail ride. I'm sorry, but we cannot accommodate your personal horses at this time. The farm is within walking distance of hiking and cross-country ski trails that meander through the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. Also, Crawford County's best kept secret for Perch, Walleye and Blue Gill fishing (including ice fishing) is a mile away at Sugar Lake. If you come for the hunting, (in season) let us know in advance and we will help you secure the proper permits and learn the rules of the refuge. Speaking of the wildlife, come armed with your binoculars and a good camera. Common sightings include high and low-flying Bald Eagles and other birds of prey, as well as many varieties of colorful, native song birds. You may also encounter other woodland creatures, such as, White-Tail Deer, Black Bears, Coyotes, and of course, smaller furry critters, like raccoons, fox, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, beavers, ground hogs and opossum. Be sure to steer clear of the skunks and the porcupines, though! Although we did enjoy our stay and felt safe and appreciate the hospitality and help with jumping the car which ended up dying overnight. We are unsure as to if we will come back due to the campsite being close proximity to the house and we prefer more secluded areas. Replace We did not fully realize the one photo was their house, we thought it may have been a barn or building for the farm. They did invite us for some warm tea prior to leaving (it was a colder morning and we appreciated the offer) however we were passed religious material that we felt should not have occurred as we were not staying in religious property. Afterwards we felt like the tea invite was to try and pass their beliefs. Religion is such a touchy subject and not everyone worships the same or worships in general. Their dogs were friendly to people however the younger dog did get aggressive with my male dog. They were very apologetic and responsive when asked to double check their dog’s health (no issues there).

We were there for the path of totality and it was amazing. Even though it was super soft ground, the space is accommodating. We had a fire roaring the whole time, and even enjoyed a lesson with the horses! Hosts were super nice and welcoming. The composting toilet is in the barn inside a tent, and since it’s working land with animals and people sometimes we Interrupted their flow as they gave us privacy, or they may interrupt yours 🤣 Overall great space, if we end up in the area again we will 💯 be back. Thanks to the hosts!

We had such a wonderful time! Debbie and Mike are such friendly people. We arrived and they had the fire going for us, brought us more wood and Mike had even picked wild leaks to add to our dinner. We have two dogs who loved playing with their handsome "Prince" the bordercollie! They also enjoyed meeting the sheep and horses on the farm. They have such beautiful land and if uou are debating its well worth it. Im sure we will be back someday, next time to enjoy canoeing and or horse back riding.

We had an excellent time staying at Debbie's Farm! We arrived in enough daylight for Debbie to show us around. She and her husband were excited to have us and it showed with their hospitality. We were given a tour and got up close and personal with the animals. They had a fire waiting for us! Easy to find and next to a nature area with trails!

A perfect weekend getaway!

We had the best time at Too Far Out Farm! Our hosts, Mike and Deb were absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. The campsite was very nice and private, and in a beautiful location. We had fun seeing the animals, building campfires, and walking around the dirt roads and nearby wildlife refuge. A perfect weekend was topped off by getting engaged on a canoe in the middle of Sugar Lake :) Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality! We had the best time and will certainly be back! :)

We received the warmest welcome by Deb! The location was lovely and the hospitality was without fault. We were treated to lovely home cooked food and company from dogs Roscoe and Fluffy! The site was well maintained, picturesque and offered an immaculately prepared composting toilet. Thank you yo our hosts. We wish you all the very best!

I loved my stay at Too Far Out farm so much. I wish I had more days to spend with Debbie, Mike, Carrie, and all the beautiful (and well-behaved) animals on the farm. There's a great mix of creatures that live on the land here, but no roosters (so you can sleep in!). Sheep, horses, a goat and dogs (I saw). The campsite is spacious enough for a bunch of tents, an RV, or vandwelling. There's a huge fire pit and lots of wood to burn. It's surrounded by beautiful green fields and there's a great loop to walk or ride that takes you right down to Sugar Lake and back. If you like or have horses than you're particularly in luck here! There's a great composting toilet down away from the house and from camp in a private little spot. This is a super spacious and friendly place to stay. It's also very near to the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. Definitely recommended!
