Clarion Heights

This is an amazing campsite. Very well thought out in design and very private. Out of my 6 days on the road this was my best night. Tons of firewood, plenty of space for large groups, a great patio with seating boulders and ample space for parking. Highly recommend. Oh, super nice guy as well!

Fall getaway in cozy pavilion

Ed upgraded me to the pavilion site for free, as it was available and it was raining, with more expected over the weekend. It was such a cozy spot, and I loved the lights and having a dry place to keep all my gear! The loft was a cool bonus! Ed and his dad were both friendly and super accommodating. I purchased the firewood bundle, and it was more than I needed for two nights. They even gave me some fire starter and found a space heater that I could use in my tent if I got too cold. I saw deer out in the field in the evening, and the crickets singing was peaceful. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the constant droning background noise which I think was from the papermill down in town. It kind of made for a white noise at night, just louder than I liked. But the hosts have a good piece of land up there on the hill. They had a map of the property. There are trails that I didn't even have time to explore because I was out visiting parks for much of the day. This campground was a great base from which to visit Kinzua Bridge, about a half hour away. They have a variety of campers to stay in also. It was a fun fall getaway, and the hosts were a pleasure!

Very nice site

We enjoyed staying in our camper van at this site. The hosts are always friendly. We even got to meet their goat, Lilly. Camp site is very clean, private, plenty of fire wood and a very nice burn pit. Would highly recommend. Thanks!

Beautiful property!

We totally enjoyed camping here! Hot showers, beautiful landscape and privacy! We booked the pavilion spot but were all alone so we took site 2 and had the entire area including the field. There is a very clean porta potty too. We loved the outstanding fire pit. We were very sad to leave, thanks for hosting us!

We had a great time and would definitely recommend to others. If you’re looking for a nice quiet getaway, this is the perfect spot for a family with kids. Our 4 kids loved it and didn’t want to leave.

We stopped here for the night on a road trip so we got in late and out early the next morning but it was a great place to camp! Nice space for our tent, there was a picnic table and stone bonfire pit that we didn't get to use but it looked nice.

Had an awesome stay! Would definitely come back. Owners are friendly and responsive. The site was clean, private, and quiet. There’s a field across from the site that we laid out in, could be nice for stargazing! Only negative was the amount of glass in the field. Assuming it’s just from the fill since the rest of the camp is pretty well maintained, just be careful with pets and kiddos over there. The outhouses and shower were a nice touch. Brought a magnetic light and was able to shower at night. Made a few froggy friends and got some bird watching in before even hitting the trails. Overall a great spot!

Great Find!

What a great find! Ed is a genuinely nice guy who's very friendly. He and Lisa upgraded us to their A frame pavilion at no extra charge because of the torrential rain on Saturday. He even towed a freshly cleaned super nice port a potty with a sink to our site and brought us some firewood to get started. Firewood was plentiful and at a very reasonable price. There are a number of hikeable trails there with some awesome views of Johnsonburg and the paper factory as well as the surrounding mountains. It's a beautiful 50 acre piece of property, mostly heavily wooded and lots of ferns. We will definitely be back!

The campsite was just as advertised; lovely and private spot. Lisa and Edward took the time to greet us, show us around, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great spot for a large group with plenty of space and even some games available for kids and adults. Highly recommend.

Nice spot in the mountains. Quiet and peaceful. You do smell the paper plant at some times depending on the wind, but it didn’t bother me.

This was our second time there, which should say something. It really turned in this place into a great spot to get away and to explore some of Pennsylvania’s Best. Incredibly friendly and caring hosts. My wife, son and I went there to be close to good fishing for opening day at Trout season. It rained nearly nonstop the entire time we were there. Yet, we still had a great time.

A weekend away with my kiddo

My son and I loved this place. If we had property, we would probably do something similar. We ended up at a little better campsite as far as size and work that was put into it. Even though the papermill is down over the hill and you could see and hear it 24 hours it wasn’t bothersome. We had deer in the campsite. It was quiet. The host were respectful and helpful.

The hosts were really nice, thoughtful people. Communication was great. It was nice taking a hike on the property. It’s close to town and has excellent cell service, yet still has the feel of the forest. I recommend the short drive to Saint Mary’s to check out the Straub Brewery.

Beautiful views! Beautiful stonework! From what I could see, every site has the beautiful stone firepits with surrounding stone patio and seating. Ed and Ed were fantastic hosts, very concerned with my comfort and to be sure I had enough activities to enjoy my stay. (There was plenty to do!) HOT Showers, too! And a nice pond with koi, and more beautiful stonework.

This place is a hidden gem! I was expecting campsites lined up like row houses but no! The campsites are very private and quaint! They added some beautiful little touches that make it very homey! I’ll definitely be staying here again!

I really enjoyed this camping spot!! Directions were great, host was fantastic and very welcoming. There was an outhouse nearby which was nice but something was pretty stinky the first night. The second night there wasn't any sort of smell so that was a relief. Would definitely recommend!

We can’t recommend highly enough—what a super special and unique place this is! Our hosts clearly put a lot of love and time into building this campground for others to enjoy, and are generous with their attention. Site was immaculate (even after a huge party the previous night) and so different from your standard ‘backyard’ RV site. Our boys played tether ball and croquet, we enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor shower, and some of us even slept in the pavilion instead of our camper. Thank you, Lisa and Edward!!

This was our first time ever using hipcamp! Edward Senior greeted us when we came into the campsite. He gave us some great resources and was extremely kind. Edward Junior came later to say hello and play with our dog. Initially we were to be in campsite 1 but moved to campsite 2, thanks to Ed. Jr. We had our own toilet access, and were very close to the hot/cold shower. The pavilion was beautiful and we really enjoyed making smores at the campfire. Tons of wildlife and very close to many attractions. We can't wait to bring our friends next time!

This is a great place to stay! Having access to a nice shower was such a wonderful commodity. The hosts were very informative, helpful and kind. Ed played a game of fetch with our dog which really made Duke happy! Can't wait to come back again to make more memories at such a beautiful property.

Campsite was great! It was clean, large, and well kept. The minifridge was an unexpected perk. Plenty of space to spread out with our larger group. Shower was clean and water was hot. Would definitely stay again.
