We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock.
Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture.
We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016.
Dean & I care about the land and the environment very much. Over the years we have have worked with the local conservation organization to plant treed wind erosion areas, improve farm drainage and grow crops using no-till practices.
In 2010 we were awarded the Pasture Conservation Award by the Canadian Cattlemen Association.
We take great pride in our farm and ensure it is managed using the best farm practices available. We grow a roation of corn, soybeans and winter wheat for food production.

We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock.
Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture.
We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016.
Dean & I care about the land and the environment very much. Over the years we have have worked with the local conservation organization to plant treed wind erosion areas, improve farm drainage and grow crops using no-till practices.
In 2010 we were awarded the Pasture Conservation Award by the Canadian Cattlemen Association.
We take great pride in our farm and ensure it is managed using the best farm practices available. We grow a roation of corn, soybeans and winter wheat for food production.

This was such an amazing stay in which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Erin was a fantastic host that was on top of everything and had a great response time which really allowed me to sit back and enjoy my vacation. The land is beautiful and very peaceful, it was great to have such a large space to explore and not overlap with others. The Bunkie itself was terrific and a nice mix of still feeling like camping but not too over the top feeling like you are in a hotel which is a perfect mix. The inclusion of extras like toilet paper, water, chairs and a table along with a “did you forget this?” box was very kind of them. Nice and comfy bed, good amount of space to move around, store your stuff and still hangout if the weather isn’t great without feeling crowded. We also heavily enjoyed being able to bring our GSD with us, highly recommend for those with dogs as well.

We had a wonderful time staying at Beth’s little oasis! We booked this trip last minute as my husband and I needed a little R&R and this place did not disappoint!
The hottub was so cozy for the two of us, we had a table top little fire going and it was very quiet and peaceful. You have total privacy on the patio, especially at nighttime! You do not feel like you are close to the house or in a shared space at all.
Our dog loved the space also as the area is fenced in, she enjoyed lounging in the snow lol!
The composting toilet was totally fine and easy to use and navigate. We visited in the winter so no running water for the sink or shower, but Beth left us water for washing and that did the trick! We also brought some jugs of water ourselves and we basically winter camped with a cozy bed!
We walked the pier and visited the shops along the strip which was super cute, before heading to Lynn valley trail to explore:)
We played games and ordered pizza and had a great adventure:) We also used the BBQ for a delicious steak dinner the one night.

If you think a wood burning sauna big enough for 4, a shower big enough for a table and bench, and a hot tub just outside your door makes for a perfect getaway, this is your place. The fridge was big enough for a three night stay, unlimited firewood, and all the oils, lotions and scents one could ask for. Truly a great place to be with the one you love, and your dogo. Could there have been a table inside for us nerds to puzzle on? Sure. But the floor works too. Would go back.

Beth’s place truly is the perfect serene getaway for anyone looking to escape the city. The peaceful setting made it easy to relax and unwind, and everything was just as we had hoped.
We really enjoyed our time there and would happily recommend this place to others looking for a quiet retreat.
Beth was an amazing host! As soon as she knew we were bringing our dog, she went the extra mile by setting out a cozy bed and a fresh bowl of water.

Her farm is so cute!! We love being able to throw pumpkins for the chickens and see the bunnies and pigs. The trails are so pretty and it was lovely and quiet, Shelby is so so sweet and everyone there is so welcoming!

Weekend Trip to Boho Bungalow in Port Dover
Beth was the best host anyone could ask for! The bungalow was cut clean and comfortable We had amenities for tea coffee and she was even so kind that she shared some drinks with us because the liquor store was closed. She also provided us with a microwave that was not originally included and it did come in very handy. We felt like we bonded immediately. The hot tub was a delight and heated porch area. Beth was kind enough to allow us to use her bathroom for a shower and it was not ackward at all. We had plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend staying her as it was not expensive at all.

Very laid-back host. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the privacy.. Port Dover also had a lot to offer, even though it was a little chilly. It was still really beautiful to walk around, and there were still lots of restaurants and cute little stores to investigate. The sunset at Lake Erie. was beautiful and everyone was very friendly.

Appreciated that Shelby communicated and met me upon arrival. Was an easy set up and interesting location.
Animals are super cute. I imagine the ranch is very lovely in summer.
I liked the signage which made it easy to navigate. There’s The Danish Place nearby which is also cool. Was only there for one sleep but was a nice stop on my way back to Ottawa.

John provides a beautiful property to camp on, and a nice way to wrap a day of bike packing. The area is quiet and serene, with a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Having an outhouse, and stations with snacks and fresh water was very convenient.
I will definitely camp here again if I'm bike packing in the area.

The best place to disconnect from the city and connect with nature. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi and the peace felt in Beth's house. She is a super host who helps you with whatever you need and is very attentive to us. She also has our dog.
