There is NO HUNTING permitted on the property. Please expect bugs, flies and mosquitoes. Deck is mostly enclosed to make star filled nights that much more enjoyable. There is also a sugar shack and garage on the property for viewing purposes only. There is an outdoor propane shower and a large cooler available for your convenience as well. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby. The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available. This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. We are a small hobby farm set within a mature forest setting. There are two, newly built tiny home bunkies that are situated in private areas of our property, yet close enough to our main house for security, Each bunkie has a modern outhouse with composting toilets and non potable water for washing Guests will have the opportunity to commune with nature as we have a multitude of bird species and there is always good possibilities of wildlife viewing, as guests stroll down the nature trails. There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social. We have a small on site store, which has some beautiful wood crafts that are created in our woodworking shop. Live-edge wood tables/charcuterie boards and other beautiful pieces as well as a large display of gorgeous healing crystals and metaphysical items are available for purchase if that's your interest. We are less than a 10 minute drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can find the world famous Kawartha Dairy, scrumptious restaurants, specialty clothing boutiques, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sturgeon Lake is the predominate lake with fabulous fishing/boating/ swimming. A 20 minute drive will get you to Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn or Kinmount where you will find the famous Kinmount Movie Theater that have the latest movies available. The Canadian Rail Trail is also nearby for anyone that wants to do some biking/hiking.

While there is no shower facility, an elegant outhouse with a composting toilet is located in a separate building. Daily use instructions are provided in the outhouse. No heating or cooling — We suggest bringing weather-appropriate clothing and warmer layers for cooler nights, as there is no heating or air conditioning. This is Muskoka, and there are bugs (especially from mid-June to mid-August). Even with a screened-in gazebo, bugs are still present. Please come prepared. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Sound carries, and while the site is private, there are neighboring properties through the trees. Parties are not permitted at the Glamphouse, and only guests registered on the booking and approved ahead of time are allowed at the site. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Angela and Arnold were incredible hosts - so kind, welcoming, approachable and responsive. They made us feel comfortable right from the start, guided us through everything we needed to know, and were always available whenever we had a question or needed anything. The cabin was beautiful, spotless, cozy, and very well maintained. Everything we could possibly need for our stay was available, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. You can really tell how much care Angela and Arnold put into making their guests feel at home. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and memorable getaway. We would definitely love to come back again! ❤️

Weekend Trip to Rugby House Retreat

Renée and Warren have a very nice piece of land with a small lake and island. We stayed in the Poor House, which was very comfortable and had a lovely pine smell. The cabin had no electricity but was well equipped and had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and communicative.

Weekend Trip to 40 Acre Woods at 29&1 Private Venue

My boyfriend and I had an amazing night stay on Sarah and her husband’s property! They were so kind, and let us know that if there was anything we needed we could ask them. Very private area in the back woods of their land with a wonderful fully lit walk to the cabin. The outhouse was very clean and actually quite cute! We will 100% be staying here again :))

Amazing we stayed in the cottage and loved every minute of our stay , we had 2 deer visitors on front lawn of the cottage n chipmunks came to say hi during morning coffee lol. I wouldn't change anything it was fantastic and the family and I will be definitely be booking again. The host was amazing making sure the place was ready to go for when we showed up even leaving snacks and things as a welcome gift and making sure if we needed anything to contact her. 5 star review for us, and we'll see you next time and hopefully soon

Spirit Ridge is such a nice spot, it is very private and has a feeling of being remote but with great amenities and convenience. It is close to town and also a quick drive to Fenelon Falls. Angela and her husband are wonderful hosts that made us feel extremely welcome, and let us spend time in the pasture with their horses! The accomodation is well thought out and cozy, I would absolutely stay here again. It is such a nice spot and nice area but at an accessible cost! Highly reccommend! 10/10

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Off-Grid Cabin Retreat

We came out here for a peaceful getaway as most couples would. But, we never expected our cabin to feel like home for three nights and having the most scenic view just from the back porch. Sure the rain kept us from having a fire in the back but that didn’t stop us from seeing all the amazing outlooks and trails!! I would recommend this place for ones who enjoy the quiet and greenery when being stuck in the city life!

Weekend Trip to That Place In The Woods

Although we used the cabin mainly as a place to just sleep for this trip, my five year old and I enjoyed our stay. The woods were cute and everything was easy to find / get to as described by Jennifer. We would love to come back sometime and actually spend some more time in nature and camp here. One thing I will note is that the property was a little bit more run down than in the photos, maybe as if nobody had been there for a while (ie. I didn't feel quite comfortable going through the art trail as the start had some fairly long grass and weeds and was worried about ticks with my son and the door of the screened in lounge was hanging off the hinges). These things didn't hinder our stay at all.

However Hipcamp as a platform processed the payment and issued refund. Default email feedback flows (3 emails) are waste of time and resources 🤷‍♂️

Rustic cozy cabin is definitely the perfect description for this listing.

And the communication was on point. She had lots of info on things that we could do or places to go visit. And was available for any need while staying there!

I loved staying at Rachel and Derrick’s glamping dome. The dome felt luxurious, and I also felt like I was submerged in nature. The lake was secluded and crystal clear. This was my first time doing something like this on my own, so my #1 priority was feeling safe, which I 100% felt. I loved every minute of my time there, and I will definitely be returning.

2 nights at Cabin In The Woods

We had such a fantastic stay at this gorgeous cabin. It’s truly off the grid, with no electricity, candle lit rustic feel, exactly the kind of getaway we needed. We brought our dog along, and the open space made it a perfect trip for all of us. The main reason for our visit was to stargaze during the peak of the Perseids meteor shower. We didn’t get to see the Perseids themselves, but the night sky was absolutely beautiful, and the whole experience was still gorgeous. The host was awesome and had everything we needed. The site was neat, clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up. There aren’t a ton of places to explore in Coboconk, but Balsam Provincial Park was beautiful. We spent the whole day there and really enjoyed it. One thing to definitely bring: lots of bug spray! The bugs can be a bit bothersome, especially when you’re spending time outdoors. Overall, this was a fantastic getaway and a must-visit site for anyone looking for a peaceful, rustic, off-the-grid escape. We’d absolutely come back!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely incredible and everything we could have hoped for. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect little escape from everyday life. Tucked away in the woods, the cabin was peaceful, private, and unbelievably cozy—the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and never want to leave. The cabin itself was beautiful, spotless, and clearly cared for with a lot of attention to detail. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while still keeping that warm, rustic cabin atmosphere. Waking up surrounded by trees, enjoying the quiet mornings, and coming back to such a cozy space at the end of the day made the entire trip feel special. The location was easily one of our favourite parts. It was wonderfully quiet and secluded, and being surrounded by nature made it feel like a genuine getaway. Whether we were relaxing inside or simply enjoying the peacefulness of the woods, it was exactly the kind of place where you can slow down and forget about everything else for a while. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making this cabin feel welcoming and comfortable for guests. We left wishing we could have stayed longer and would come back again without hesitation. If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful, cozy cabin in the woods to relax, recharge, and make some great memories, this place is an absolute gem. Easy 5/5 and one of those stays you’ll remember forever
