We are a 100 acre free range beef, pig and rabbit farm, and horse boarding facility on a corner bordering on 2 rivers, a running brook and a sitting on a huge pile of sand. We encourage our campers to also be free range and choose any nice quiet spot they find, a wide open sand lot, along the river, or deep in the woods. Campers are free to set up tents and sites on either side of the pasture, I don't allow trailer campers in the pastures as the cows tend to like to use them as scratching posts and can damage units. You never know when a litter of piglets is going to be born, a new calf arrives, or when the cows will skip the fence and we call on ya for a cattle drive, but always guaranteed something interesting is going to happen on the farm. We welcome campers to bring their pets responsibly, please be aware it is a livestock farm. For people vacationing or travelling with horses, we have stalls and paddocks available and plenty of sand arenas and trails to ride in. Key features of the property are definitely the livestock, horses, a beautiful swimming or fishing hole at the corner of the property tons of walking or biking trails, a beach volleyball court, huge bbq pit, firepit area complete with seating, bbq capable of roasting whole hogs if you're planning a party event or gathering. With 100, very accessible acres, so many things to do, to learn about free range farming, and country life, we're sure you will find a beautiful location to enjoy nature on our farm, and lots of fun for the kids.

"Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical. You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy. Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court. On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware! Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver. The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use. Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee. We welcome campers to bring their pets responsibly, please be aware it is a livestock farm. For people vacationing or travelling with horses, we have stalls and paddocks available and plenty of sand arenas and trails to ride in. Key features of the property are definitely the livestock, horses, a beautiful swimming or fishing hole at the corner of the property tons of walking or biking trails, a beach volleyball court, huge bbq pit, firepit area complete with seating, bbq capable of roasting whole hogs if you're planning a party event or gathering. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court. On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware! Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver. The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use. Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee. Weekend Trip to Private Home Near Beach
We spent one week at this Hipcamp site and had a wonderful experience. The campground is very quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Even though it snowed during our stay, the electric hookup and all facilities worked perfectly, and we had no issues camping comfortably. We also enjoyed visiting the ocean in the Eastern Passage area, which is very close and beautiful. What made our stay truly special was the kindness of the older gentleman on the property. He paid close attention to us during our stay, and on our final day, despite the cold and snow, he came to check on us, made sure everything was safe with our trailer, and helped us with many things. We are deeply grateful for his warm hospitality. Thank you once again for making our week unforgettable. We highly recommend this place and would love + come back in the future.

Gloria was a friendly host and the big grassy yard that she offered was a good place to camp near the Bay of Fundy where you could watch the tides come and go.. There’s a nice walking trail from her place to the village of Maitland where we got a very decent dinner at a good price. The bathroom facilities were substandard, not clean, but made available whenever we needed it. Overall, it was a decent experience, although perhaps a bit overpriced.

Absolutely beautiful! What view! It's an off grid camping spot in the most beautiful area. There is an outhouse that was clean. Dan was quick to respond to any questions I had and check in to make sure I was okay or needed anything. That view though is everything. I would wake up looking out at that view everyday if I could. Also had 5g out there which was nice to still be connected. I will definitely be staying here again.

We called ahead and Quinton met us as we drove in and showed us to the site. We had our choice of spots because we were the only ones there. We watched the tidal bore come up the river and a mild sunset in the orchard. Early in the morning, we heard some ruffled grouse calling. A very peaceful stay.

A beautiful camp site. Perched in a field up on a hill side over looking the bay of fundy. A sweet spot. Very secluded. A 10 minute walk down to the beach where we had a nice walk at low tide. Chignecto Park in West Advocate was closed due to the drought so no hiking there. Otherwise though a great stay. Thank you!

Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves.. Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more. The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,. We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience. There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:) Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less. We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens. There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. For those wanting to stay for longer periods in the winter we can discuss usage of the shower in our house.

Find our quaint family-owned-and-operated campground in Lunenburg County, nestled in a forested area along a subset of the LaHave River. Although only a half hour from world-renowned tourist towns and stunning Atlantic beaches, your drive will bring you into rural Nova Scotia, where you will feel like you are a million miles away! Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature on our riverside property, where we host Unserviced Tent Sites, Serviced Campsites for tents and trailers, Tiny Cabins, and Rental Trailers - we offer something for every style of camper! The whole family is sure to have fun at LaHave! Our 15 acre grounds host a general store with sweet treats, a community building with communal firepit, swimming holes and a dock, a playground, off-leash dog run, basketball nets, darts, horseshoe pits, washer toss, and so much more! Jamie Lee, Kalen and Tundra Campground Rules & Regulations ● Campsites are modest, intended for 1 RV, trailer or tent, and 1 vehicle. ● Rates are for up to 4 individuals, with a $5 surcharge for additional guests per night. ● Visitors are to check in at the office, arriving before 9pm, exiting by 11pm. ● Speed limit is 10 km/hr. ● Children are not to be unsupervised in the park and on a site by 11pm. Children on bikes require helmets, and no bikes or playground after dark. ● Midnight is quiet time, and no excessive noise ever please. ● Dogs are to be in your control, leashed and picked up after, with no excessive barking. ● Campfires are subject to Nova Scotia burn ban restrictions – no burning 8am-2pm ever. Check Burn Safe website at 2pm daily to see if 2pm or 7pm fires or permitted, or no fires at all. We sell firewood or you can bring your own. Do not move the firepit, and pits or campsites left littered will be a $10 cleaning fee. ● Recycling is mandatory, with garbage, recycling, cardboard, compost and empties bins on site. ● Campers must adhere to the rules for themselves, their family and visitors. Failure to do so will result in notice to leave. Campers are to pay for any property damage caused. No refunds will be granted, including for early departure.
