My husband and I had a fantastic time at the chalet. Our first night in NV at Porter's land was a thrilling adventure in nature, with the delightful chorus of birds. I even had a refreshing dip in the lake, and we were up before sunrise to witness the stunning sight of the sun rising over the misty lake. It was an exhilarating experience in Porter's land, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit!

Directions were clear to get to site, hosts were quick to respond to various queries & had done their research on DNR regulations & how they applied to their properties in light of the forest fire, trail access, & burn ban situation surrounding my visit. Owl's Hollow is the perfect place for a getaway - Karen and Ben have truly thought about everything! In the Hut there was a book about forest bathing, and their property is truly the epitome of it - peaceful, serene and therapeutic. The beautiful views, steps from access to the lake and the added conveniences (chairs, structures, water, etc.) is unbeatable. Karen was quick to respond, kind and very accommodating. We have done a lot of camping with our kids. We first discovered this spot last fall and swore we’d be back in the warmer months to enjoy the lake more. This was one of our favourite camping trips to date. The location is amazing. The facilities are fantastic. It’s clean, organized, has SOOO much included for enjoying the water. Kayaks, paddle boards, canoe, and even has waterproof phones cases. Our kids (and dog) thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip. We spent hours on, and in, the lake. The shaded area of the camp site was perfect for the heat wave, as was the lake!

We absolutely adored our time here! The attention to a campers needs and all the details blew us away. It was so nice to be remote but still feel safe and connected. The cooking hut was a great touch, and we loved having our morning coffee in the chairs. We really appreciated the water that was provided by the host. When you go ensure that you bring extra lights (such as lamp or head lamp) and we had bug nets plus a fly zapper that came in handy! Overall it was an unreal experience, and we felt so taken care of for being in the woods! We would absolutely recommend and intend on going back again!

Weekend Trip to Sally's Brook Wilderness Cabins

Stayed at the Auraura Tent. About 5 minute hike up to the tent. (Keyword UP). The experience was well thought out with care and more comforts then I was expecting. Power in the tent with a fan and a lamp. Open the skylights to view the stars at night. A small wood stove for the cooler months and a BBQ. Did you forget your lighter, flashlight or bug spray? Don't worry, they have you covered. A well stocked and very pleasant kitchen was available. (You bring the food). Some of the off grid elements, like toilets, were a bit different but well documented. The site has lots of trail markers and solar lights to help you get around. In the end, bring you clothes and food, almost everything else you need is on site. It was mostly quiet, though I could hear the regular loading and unloading of the nearby ferry. All in all, a great stay. Would go again.
