Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. We have one RV site with septic, water and 50 Amp power and can fit a 40 foot unit and 2 totally private tent sites. There is a full washroom with tub/shower, toilet and wifi access in our old farmhouse which is complimentary during your stay. Weekend Trip to Back Forty Vineyards

Camp 1 handled our Class B. I rented both sites and our friends were introduced into Hipcamping using site 2. Their trailer a small to medium size fit easily there with a drive through setup. The two camps are closer together for RVs but further apart of tents campers. The camp property is a very short drive on a large dirt road. It is located at a 600 foot elevation above town, we decided not to ride the bikes to town due one rider uses a three wheel bike which needs more space. The condition was OK but could be checked for trash we try to pickup what was there. It was great having access to water being that this was our fourth stop on this trip. Great to be in the country with a sea of grapes and lake in you front view. We did see and hear turkeys and other wild life. The gate needed to be opened and closed it could use a tune-up.

Wow, what a beautiful, tranquil spot this is. The trailer has everything you need for a comfortable stay, inside and out, with several different chill out area options. The views of the lake are just gorgeous, from sunrise to sunset, and the stars at night were incredible. Being dog friendly was the icing on the cake! Quiet dirt roads were great for walks. I honestly should have booked for longer. Already looking forward to our next stay. Brock is a great host. :)

What a little piece of heaven! We needed a quick place to lay our heads on our travels from Tofino to Calgary. It was so refreshing to let the dogs roam around, a nice clean restroom, and the chickens in the morning were a hoot.

When to go

The hot, sunny days of summer are the busiest times to travel to Vernon and across the Okanagan Valley. With a much drier climate than the British Columbia coast, the Okanagan sees more sunshine from spring through fall, making April/May and September/October good alternatives to the summer heat. From mid-November into March, temperatures can dip below freezing, and snow is possible, although the winters are milder than in many other Canadian locations.

Know before you go

The largest provincial park near Vernon is Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, which is open only for day use. Campers can consider Kekuli Bay Provincial Park on Kalamalka Lake, Ellison Provincial Park on Okanagan Lake’s east shore, or Fintry Provincial Park on the west shore of Okanagan Lake.
Several Vernon outfitters rent camping gear, as do companies based in Kelowna.
