Learn more about this land: Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent. We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy. PLEASE NOTE that this is a campsite and the trailers in the photos are not for rent.

This oasis consists of a spacious canvas tent on a 900 sq’ fenced, deck 2 cots and mattresses set up under the 10x10’ canopy. Tent is well-furnished inside and out with an outdoor covered, supplied kitchen. Step off the deck and choose your path! If Oyster River is your destination, the nature trail will take you there. Stop along the way for a swim, picnic, paddle, driftwood fort building, maybe try your campfire building skills! Or meander above the shoreline along the driftwood covered shore on one side of you and past acres of distillery farmland and the Oyster River Estuary on your right. Where the river meets the sea just around the corner, it’s not uncommon to find a seal bobbing and heron near the shoreline, and maybe an eagle further out on the sandbar waiting for their seafood meal. To smell the forest, sea, and freshness of a flowing river all in one breath doesn’t happen many places, but it’s here every day. Deer, rabbits, herons and eagles are a near certainty right on our property. Currently there is a Great Horned Owl’s nest with 50 meters and you may catch sighting of the owlets. The bright sunny fielded forest alongside the beach blends together these experiences so seamlessly. Both Susan and Tony were amazing hosts. They were always quick to answer any questions and were incredibly kind! We did end up booking a tour with them of their place which was truly spectacular and original. Me and my parter have already discussed when we will return next. We will be forever thinking about our conversations with them both sharing our love for the environment and dogs:) Looking forward to our next visit!

Susan was an excellent host. When we first showed up we were a little lost and she guided us right to our campsite. We were camping on Thanksgiving and she invited us into her home and gave us a slice of homemade pumpkin pie (it was amazing). We left in a hurry but we would definitely go back again.

Camping site was flat and even. Bathroom was fantastic. Rabbits coming to visit in the evening were definitely a plus. All around a great venue.

After this pic was taken, we added a 10x10 canopy (with walls), for sleeping, or getting some shade. Also, there is additional covered kitchen space. Space for all your sporting equipment, and if you want to bring 2 more people, you can pitch your tent on the deck. Let me know about additional occupants thanks!

7 nights at The Glamping Beachcomber

We loved the open-air experience of our glamping tent, located near a beautiful stretch of beach near Oyster River. We walked our dog along the community trail every morning, and we spent many evenings on the beach. The tent ambiance is cozy, with a cushy bed, armchairs, and even braided rugs on the floor. The "kitchen" is very basic but supplied all we needed.

This site was just what we needed for a bit of a break before catching the Nanaimo ferry (30 min away). Cory and Trish were very quick to respond to any questions, including the whereabouts of a local dog friendly beach. The bathroom for the camp sites was beyond expectations. And of course, The Rocking Horse Pub just down the road is really such a perc.

The site is huge! Nice and flat, potable water and power hook-ups. Trash, compost and recycling at the site. Flush toilet and sink very close to site. Hosts are very friendly and relaxed, ensuring guests enjoy their stay while allowing privacy. The site and bathroom was very clean. The field for our dog to run off-leash was a wonderful treat and Teddy had a blast! The area is quiet with beautiful star gazing at night. Lots to see and do, great hiking and swim spots close by. We enjoyed our stay very much! Absolutely recommend !

Excellent spot to camp!! Nice and private with trees on one side. Cory met us when we arrived and made sure that we knew where everything was. Water, electricity, table and even a flush toilet were all provided. A local pub down the street was an added bonus. Highly recommend this Hipcamp and we will definitely stay here again when we are on the island.

We spent one night at Cory’s white fence site and thoroughly enjoyed it! Washroom was clean and easy to access. They had electricity conveniently at the site. We were welcomed warmly by the hosts friends. Close to the ferry and food locations…Would recommend this Hipcamp!
