Guests will get to wake up to the sounds of the Shuswap River flowing right outside their campsite. Sandy shaded kids play area with a kids swing, 2 person snowboard swing and a trampoline. A net and hammock for all your chilling needs. Load to explore around the property, including an island on the Shuswap River. Launch your floaties and spend the afternoon floating down the picturesque river, but please bear in mind the river conditions vary throughout the year. The 8KM river float is an intermediate level float and may not be suitable for young kids as there is a section that needs to be walked to avoid a dangerous area. There is other options for shorter floats upstream and end at our property. Please ask us for more details. We also have a field to ride any quads or dirt-bikes around. Its very basic riding conditions, but still fun for young kids! As well there is lots to see in the area including 2 waterfalls and Mable lake provincial park all within an hour drive. Welcome to a natural, convenient location with basic amenities on the West Kettle River! We have 300 acres including 1500 meters of river frontage with access to the surrounding crown land and KVR trail which runs through the property. We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on! The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles. After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop. I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me. We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2. RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds. Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

The railway that ran directly in front was converted into one of the best cycling paths in the province.

The cabin was cute and cozy, with a warm indoor stove to keep the place warm. Lots of space with one mains bed and two small beds up top. We were there in October and we had the area to ourselves which was great, but it seemed the camping spot and Teepee were quite close to the cabin.

2 nights at Idabel Mountain old growth escape

Jan and Ryan were such great hosts :). I’m super glad I picked this spot, they even let me have the bigger site than what I booked as I was the only one there. The views were gorgeous, I even saw the stars :). The day I was leaving my car wouldn’t start and Jan was so generous to search all over for his jumper cables even while he was in the middle of moving.. so kind!!! Will definitely go back :).

Better than advertise. The Kevin was new and clean. The wood stove kept us very warm and toasty. The firepit was well stocked with cedar cut offs . Hot pool was extremely relaxing and had a great vibe. We added a canoe to our trip and fished Gardom Lake. Excellent experience, we'll be back !

Really enjoyed ourselves at Pink Pumpkin. Nice site, easy to back into with our 26' stem to stern travel trailer. Power and water- very peaceful. Host is very good in getting back to you if you have a question. Had a great looking buck come up to our window on our last morning.

4 nights at SkyRidge Lookout

Wow, what a beautiful, tranquil spot this is. The trailer has everything you need for a comfortable stay, inside and out, with several different chill out area options. The views of the lake are just gorgeous, from sunrise to sunset, and the stars at night were incredible. Being dog friendly was the icing on the cake! Quiet dirt roads were great for walks. I honestly should have booked for longer. Already looking forward to our next stay. Brock is a great host. :)

This was a perfect place to unplug and relax. Although there’s no service the wifi works enough to send texts. The lake was only a 3 minute walk and was so quiet. The outhouse was clean and everything was exactly the way it was described. Would definitely come back.

We really enjoyed Darcy’s cabin. It was simple, quaint and so peaceful. The outdoor shower was awesome and the pit toilet was clean and not smelly. The supplied propane fire ring made the atmosphere cozy as there was a fire ban. The views were lovely. As Aussies, we’d remind other campers that cutlery and glassware is not supplied- but this did not take away from our experience at all!
