This is a place to get away from a busy life.
With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling.
Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking.
Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available.
We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs on the property that
generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens so please keep and eye on your dogs!
Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking!
Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path.
We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon.
Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven.
Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :)
Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

We are a young family just starting out, we have 40 acres within walking distance to the lake with a nice little forest (currently we are working on an easy access through the trees but if you enjoy foraging this might fit perfectly!)
We are very open to helping set up activities or anything you may need. We have grown up in the area and know it very well and hope you enjoy your time!
The campsites are fairly private, but still close to all of the amenities that we offer.
We have recently added a 10 minute nature walk through the trees, this will include locations to sit and rest, as well as the ability to get some shade while soaking in all sounds and beauty of your surroundings.
Lac Ste. Anne is only a 15-minute drive from our property where you can enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, and so much more!
Please be mindful we are a farm, our animals are friendly but we ask that you respect the fences. Children are asked to stay on the cut grass unless accompanied by an adult (we have a pond and other various safety hazards).

We have 10 campsites for tent or RV campers. If you're bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles fairly long in length and the sites are pretty flat. Generators are allowed.
The property is very close to the Westcountry to access quadding, fishing, hiking, swimming and much more.
We are about 10 minutes north of Rocky Mtn House, Alberta Canada.
Pets must be tethered and cleaned up after at all times.
We offer water if needed. 110 power optional and by donation. Quality outhouse and picnic area available, but no septic.

Laura was an outstanding host. Not only did she invite us for Christmas dinner, but she showed my friend the true meaning of a Canadian Christmas. Her ranch is beautiful, with great walking trails through the trees. I’m excited to camp here come summer and spring time, what a beautiful place.

The rustic cozy cabin was definitely rustic and cozy! Yet it was fully equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, a VHS player, lots of movies, a record player, and Netflix. It was peaceful, warm and the surrounding land was beautiful. I even saw three deer walking by. We also loved the hot tub at night! Being cozy/small, it was a little hard to move around with my partner and two dogs. And yes, there's a beautiful bathroom available, but you have to walk outside to get to it. Not too bad except I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night every night. I would have brought our portable toilet with us if I had realized how everything was situated. All in all, Anna and her husband were great and responsive, and we truly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you!

We booked this cabin through HipCamp and were left with rather mixed impressions. The cabin itself is very cozy, styled like a hunting lodge, with a true “retro” atmosphere. Inside everything is simple but tasteful — it really feels like a little corner of nature where you can disconnect from everyday life. We genuinely enjoyed this authenticity and sense of peace.
Unfortunately, at the very end of our stay, a situation occurred that spoiled the overall impression. As we were getting ready to leave, the hosts let out their large dog. The animal behaved quite aggressively, which felt unsafe — especially since we had our 4-month-old baby with us. We really appreciated the atmosphere of this place, but it would be important for the hosts to consider this issue with pets, as guest safety matters a lot.
Overall, the place has great potential for a wonderful stay, and we sincerely hope this aspect will be addressed.

The sites and amenities were exactly as shown and explained on the website. We enjoyed the solitude and quietness of the site not always found in the common campground arrangement. There are some hiking trails nearby at the Crimson Lake provincial park that we enjoyed as well as taking time to read, relax and shell peanuts, once we got back to our site. We loved camping at the Secret Sanctuary! We brought our own glamping and got the breakfast delivered to your site as an add on. Absolutely delicious! The whole experience and vibe of this place is really something special. We were looking for a getaway close to the city that offered privacy (which is hard to find these days) and were not disappointed. We want to bring the whole family next time we come! The hot shower and compost toilets were great, the trails and nearby lakes were awesome for exploring, and Denika and her family were so friendly and helpful. 5 stars! Also make sure to check out the store for amazing salves, delicious teas, and cute pottery!

This was so lovely! The tents are clean and tidy, and very cozy and warm. The bed and bedding were toasty and comfy. The land was beautiful and the small creek was so refreshing.
The outhouse was very tidy and nicely organized, but a bit smellier: it was right after a long weekend, so no surprises after lots of use!
It can be a bit tricky to find in the dark and there’s no GPS, so be sure to read the detailed directions very closely BEFORE you lose service, unlike me 😅
Overall, a lovely little getaway space, peaceful and remote, but close to town for needs, and just a quick drive to Waterton.
I also found the host very helpful and responsive which ruled :)
