Quiet, majestic back to nature spot! This is a place to get away from a busy life. With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling. Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available. We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs on the property that generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens so please keep and eye on your dogs! Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking! Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path. We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon. Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven. Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :) Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

You will enjoy peace in quiet in this remote, private, and off-grid location. Our cabins are in a forested area surrounded by mountains. Set apart amongst the trees for privacy. Savour the sound of silence and smell the trees. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing at night! Rock Lake is only 7km from the camp where you can enjoy awe-inspiring views of Alberta's Northern Rockies while fishing, boating, mountain biking or hiking. There is no TV, wifi, or cell service. Each cabin has indoor plumbing, toilet, shower, hot and cold running water and a wood-burning stove. All cooking is done on the deck of the cabin using a griddle. Propane supplied. All firewood, kindling, bed linens, towels, pots/pans/cutlery included. Please note, a 4WD vehicle is recommended to access the site. Sub-Alpine area in front ranges of Alberta Rockies. Anne Pilgrimage National Historic Site of Canada - 23 minutes away West Edmonton Mall - 35 minuters Cougar Creek Golf Club 16 minutes Heather Downs Horse Arena - 2 minutes Freeson Brothers in Stoney Plains - 15 minutes (Shopping and Restaurant (try their pizza - it’s amazing and you can take an uncooked one back to camp) The property is 5 acres of fenced property with trees, walking paths. Later in the year we plan on having a large garden, a dedicated parking area (no RVs, please), a fire pit, with various yard games available. At present, the property has lots of areas to set up tents. It is set up as a walk-in at the moment.

Beautiful, serene, quiet, very well maintained. We could see every star in the sky, and it is so close to Elk Island Park, it made sightseeing easy! A lot of coyotes at night - mind your pets and bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper - that was the only sound we heard. Would highly recommend this spot.

We had an amazing stay at this campsite! The area is very private and surrounded by beautiful fall colors, it honestly feels like your own little getaway in nature. The place was clean, quiet, and relaxing, perfect for a peaceful weekend escape. The owners are wonderful people! They are responsive, and easy to communicate with. They made sure everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out, and we really appreciated how organized and welcoming they were. We loved our stay at Blue Rein! Had lots of space to ourselves and it was very peaceful aside from the occasional moos or neighs from the nearby animals. This is the perfect place if you’re an animal lover as you’ll be greeted by dogs, cows, horses, pigs, and chickens. There’s also a great communal building with washrooms, a kitchen sink , and some fun things like a speaker and pool table. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great Site and hosts! With only being a short drive from Edmonton, this is a hidden gem. Kara and Dan are quick to respond to inquiries and requests. The grounds are clean, well maintained, and vibrant. The water feature is aerated so the is no stagnant water smell. The wood totes are of a good size for the cost and come with some kindling. The wood was cut into good size pieces and dry! The farm fresh eggs were some of the best eggs I've had in a while with large yolks. The campsites are well spaced out with some co-located for groups. There is obvious signs of improvement and tree planting which speaks to Kara and Dan's dedication to being great hosts. I camped with a large group and a dog which needed 2 sites. Kara and Dan made great suggestions which improved our experience. I look forward to booking next season. Thank you, Kara and Dan!!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by how lovely the cabin was. Kara and Dan was also very nice in letting us setup a surprise proposal for my sister. The place was peaceful and quiet. It was a perfect place to unwind. The stars were beautiful at night. Would also mention that I was kinda hesitant on using the porta potty but to my surprise it was very clean unlike other porta potties I've seen in other camping areas. It's a great place to go to when you want to have a getaway that's not too far from the city. Would definitely come back!

We booked this cabin through HipCamp and were left with rather mixed impressions. The cabin itself is very cozy, styled like a hunting lodge, with a true “retro” atmosphere. Inside everything is simple but tasteful — it really feels like a little corner of nature where you can disconnect from everyday life. We genuinely enjoyed this authenticity and sense of peace. Unfortunately, at the very end of our stay, a situation occurred that spoiled the overall impression. As we were getting ready to leave, the hosts let out their large dog. The animal behaved quite aggressively, which felt unsafe — especially since we had our 4-month-old baby with us. We really appreciated the atmosphere of this place, but it would be important for the hosts to consider this issue with pets, as guest safety matters a lot. Overall, the place has great potential for a wonderful stay, and we sincerely hope this aspect will be addressed.
