Our property is located in the peaceful ranching hamlet of Twin Butte (28km south of Pincher Creek). We are only 1km away from the legendary Twin Butte General Store/Mexican Restaurant which features great food, ice cream, and live music. Drive 20 minutes south and you'll be in the spectacular Waterton Lakes National park where you can find great hiking, biking, paddling, fishing, and amazing wildlife viewing. Drive 20 minutes north and west and you'll be in the beautiful front ranges of Castle Wildland Provincial Park, which also offers excellent hiking and fishing opportunities. If you venture a little further (about an hour), you'll have access to all of the opportunities the rest of the Castle Provinical Park or Crowsnest Pass has to offer, with many recreational activities available. No dogs or other pets are allowed on the property as we have our own pets and our neighbors have livestock.

Get away from it all at Hollywoods Hut! We have a small 1 room rustic cabin in the woods on our small acreage. The space is perfect for individuals or couples wanting a camping experience with a few luxuries, including a roof over your head, shelter from the wind, a bed, and electricity. There is lots to see and do nearby with Waterton National Park, Castle Wildland Provincial Park, and Pincher Creek only 20 minutes away, and West Castle Valley and Crowsnest Pass about an hour away. Our property is located in the peaceful ranching hamlet of Twin Butte (28km south of Pincher Creek). We are only 1km away from the legendary Twin Butte General Store/Mexican Restaurant. If you venture a little further (about an hour), you'll have access to all of the opportunities the rest of the Castle Provincial Park or Crowsnest Pass has to offer, with many recreational activities available. This rustic glamping hut sits next to beautiful Yarrow Creek, surrounded by forest, offering privacy and shelter from the Southern Alberta wind. Our other rental units, as well as our home, are several hundred meters away from the hut and out of sight giving everyone their privacy. Escape the hustle and bustle of busy campgrounds and enjoy your own space with no wi-fi and limited cell coverage, allowing you to avoid distractions while you unplug and enjoy the natural surroundings! The hut comes with a comfortable futon which sleeps 2 people (we provide a bed sheet, you bring the rest of your bedding), electricity, and a composting outhouse. We provide a portable fan to help you keep cool on hot nights. There is currently no heat source. During but during spring and fall it can be chilly at night so remember to bring enough blankets! We provide a jug of drinking water (it's usually enough for a few days, but if you run out you can fill up from our drinking-safe hose at the house). Water for washing or boiling can be easily collected from the nearby creek. There is a table outside you can use for cooking (you bring your own dishes), and a charcoal bbq available for your use, or you can bring your own camp stove. You can also eat out at the Twin Butte Mexican Restaurant (reservation recommended!) and go for ice cream at the Grumpy Goat (1km away), or find a restaurant in Waterton or Pincher Creek (20 minutes away). The Twin Butte General Store has some convenience store items (drinks, snacks, a few essentials) but a proper grocery store is about 20 minutes away in Pincher Creek so best to get what you need before you come. You have your own fire pit, which you are free to use as long as there's no fire ban in effect, and it's not too windy. Firewood is available for purchase on site, or you can bring your own. There is vehicle access right up to the hut. Once or twice a year (mainly in spring) we get a lot of rain and some sections of the road to the hut get muddy and difficult to navigate without a 4WD. If this happens when you're here and you don't have a 4WD you can park on our driveway and walk the 300m down to the hut. We can provide a wagon to help you carry your things if needed. During fishing season you can fish the creek which flows right next to the hut, or cool off on a hot day in one of the deeper pools. During berry season (July/August), guests are welcome to pick the many saskatoons and choke cherries that grow on the property, and right outside the hut. Wildlife sightings are common, including deer, moose, bear, and many birds. At night you might hear the coyotes howling across the valley. During the day you might get a visit from our two tabby cats. Due to the wildlife and the cats, we don't allow dogs.

We have a deck nestled in the trees which is perfect for pitching a tent. We provide special deck pegs for setting up myour tent and have a brand new composting outhouse for you to use right nest to the deck. There is also a small camping sink provided in the outhouse and solar lights to lead your way to the bathroom at night. Our property also has a hot outdoor shower just a short walk away for you to use.

Hidden gem

Hollywoods Hut

Hollywoods is a hidden gem of untouched nature. The deer came to visit every night on their way to the river. We discovered some fox puppies playing and orchids and penstemon and lupin flowering. Cozy little cabin. Compost toilet worked fine and was clean. Shower was excellent, but a bit of a challenge on a stormy day. The bridge over the creek is nearby, so you hear some traffic, but the nights are super quiet.

Very private site. It has a very nice and large tent platform. We didn’t use it because we have a RTT. The parking spot is level, so that was also nice. The composting toilet and hand washing sink were clean, spacious (if you need a place to change) and there were clear instructions on how to use it. The outdoor shower was a nice surprise. Again, it had clear instructions on its use. It was very clean, had good pressure and easy to adjust for a warm shower. The location is right off the highway and provided a good camp spot near Waterton. The general store in Two Butte is less than a mile away, sells ice, a good selection of groceries and has a restaurant (burgers and Mexican). With it being right off the highway, there is some road noise, but nothing that we found problematic. You also get the sound of the nearby creek, which is pleasant.

Secluded, simple, and conve ie

Hollywoods Hut

Easy to find, right off the highway. The cabin is secluded amongst the trees and brush, and simple; with a great fire pit area and just beyond it the creek, which you can hear from your lodgings. Equidistant from Pincher Creek and Waterton and 1 km from the Mexican restaurant, it’s a great location for a home base. If there’s a clear sky you’ll catch the milky way at night. This stretch of highway has incredibly beautiful vistas, it’s almost worth going just to travel down the 6.

Hollywoods RV Spot

First of all, THE LOCATION IS BEAUTIFUL ... we enjoyed watching both deer and moose. When we reserved this site, we said our unit was 60 feet long. The reservation confirmation said there was a concrete pad & power and acknowledged our length to be 60'. Upon arrival. there was no concrete pad (we were OK with that), inadequate power (we used our generator when necessary), AND there was NOT enough room to safely turn around a 38' Motorhome with a car trailer behind which made up the 60' length. If my husband wasn't a retired long-haul trucker and used to maneuvering in tight spots, I have no idea how we'd have ever turned around to park for the 3 nights so that we could get back out! I was terrified that we'd go over the creek bank !! Unless the area is widened to about a 200' diameter circle area, only smaller units should be registered there. NOTE: Many people with large units require drive-through sites, not this.

Peaceful and excellent location!

The tenting spot is located on an acreage along with two other tiny homes, each with their own outhouse. The shower is shared but never busy and you get to look at the mountains. Our site was very private and so peaceful. The absence of light pollution made star gazing from the tent platform a dream. There is a little bit of traffic noise from the highway but it quiets right down at night so you can hear owls and coyotes. It’s a beautiful drive to Waterton and easy to do day trips. If you like quaint and quiet this is a great option.
