The Meadow - Cabin, Bunkhouse

We really enjoyed our stay here over the long weekend. James went beyond my expectations with thorough directions, a map of the land and supplies such as firewood, toilet paper, water, etc. North creek was a beautiful site with lots of open space and places to explore.

The Meadow - Cabin, Bunkhouse
This was our second time at James’s land. We had really great time and the place has everything that you need. We all loved the quietness, lots of birds singing.
When we were coming in on Friday, I saw baby cow and goose were playing together. That was one of the most beautiful coexistence living I saw. Cattle did not come back after we reach. My son was missing the cattle’s. I hope we did not disturb their regular routine.

Our group of 6 stayed in the cabin from Oct. 18-20. We absolutely love everything! We had lots of privacy and it felt peaceful to be surrounded by nature. We also enjoyed the lake and made good use of the facilities. James was very accomodating and awesome. Definitely would recommend this place and we hope to be back soon!!

This was our third camping trip to James’s “Cattle Ranch in the Foothills”. We have stayed at both “The Bend” and “North Creek” campsites and both are quite private with beautiful views of the surrounding area including spectacular views of the Northern Lights during our most recent stay. As a working cattle ranch it’s a fun experience when the cattle pass by along with a variety of wildlife.

Great camping spot, lovely and private and very pretty! Also a great outhouse! And the little touches like the drinking water and the map were great. James provided great instructions for getting to the site so I had no problem even arriving after dark, and was quick and responsive to messages. I would definitely camp here again!

The Google map directions took me straight to the gate. It was nice having water waiting for me. I enjoyed being around the cattle and they enjoyed drooling on my truck.If you are nit used to being around cattle they are very curious but friendly

My family and I loved camping here. We actually visited twice as the kids enjoyed our first stay so much! You have the pitch to yourself so very quiet and private. Lovely walk to the lake if you wish to do so. Friendly cows came to visit! Firepit with wood provided. Host is very welcoming and helpful.

Stayed a week at this oasis! Beautiful property, the cows were a treat (except when our dogs rolled in the poos 😅 but we just went to the lake to wash off), and James is an absolute gem. It was so nice to not have to deal with other people/kids/dogs like we do at a regular campsite, not to mention having our two border collies offleash all week was a blessing for all of us. Would absolutely stay again if we’re in the area - highly recommend!

This is the second time I’ve stayed at James’ property, and he is a gracious host. Lovely guy, and a great place to stay! The cabin was clean and just as he advertised. There is lots to do on the property but we enjoyed just watching the cows. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here, a peaceful getaway close to Calgary!

Perfect site ! Easy to find with good road to site. Really lovely private location. Peaceful lake for canoeing. Wish we could have stayed longer! Would definitely stay again. James the host was very friendly and welcoming. He provided help and information plus a useful map of the site.

A profoundly lovely place! We went for a hike to a beautiful view, had a couple peaceful paddles and saw heaps of interesting birds. The cows were hilarious (friendly, curious, but not a problem in any way). A young bull even came to see us at the lake! The facilities are perfect for those who love the outdoors and don't need anything fancy. For instance, they have the nicest thunderbox (composting toilet) I’ve ever used. No stinky, spiderfilled outhouse, just a clean, odourless open air throne with a privacy wall behind it. The owners made everything so easy, were super on top of things, gave us our privacy but we're extremely kind and friendly when we happened to meet them. I would highly highly recommend staying here!

Absolutely loved camping here, so peaceful, felt really private. The sunset was beautiful. Toilet was very clean. Very long gravel road up to the campsite, made me nervous in the rental van, but was fine if you went super slow.

We’ve stayed for 6 nights in a wonderful quiet atmosphere. The kids really loved the cows around and to roast marshmellows above the fire every night! The night before we left we also had a fun time going around the lake which was not even a 5 minute walk with canoes.
