We are a family homestead on 5 acres planted out to permaculture principles back in the late 70's with some 40 different varieties of fruit and nut trees to graze on. Our Toobs are repurposed 2.1m diameter by 2.4m deep concrete pipes with one way glass, a queen size bed, 2 small bedside tables, light, power points, electric blanket(winter), pedestal fan (summer)all linen, towel and curtains for privacy. Internal volume is just over 9m3. They've been called glamping pods, concrete tents, micro habitats, sleep stations. . . .but at heart, they're an immersive experience. How they look, where they are, the way you sleep and where you wake up is an altogether novel experience that we feel most people will enjoy. Toobs are serviced by a shared safari-style wash house with hot water shower and composting loo. Our block is on the Rails to Trails beside the Margaret River. Main Street and cafe strip are a short 10 minute forest walk away. We are popular with mountain bikers due to our close proximity (ride to trails) MR's MTB trails. Surfer's Point and Prevelly are 9kms away. We have laying hens, horses, a large and active Ring Tail possum tribe and vegetable garden. CAVEATS: -Just to be clear, we encourage our guests to eat out and we do NOT have kitchen and/or cooking facilities. - Our Toobs are tiny spaces and they are not everyone's cup of tea. We are fortunate to have the Warren National Park on our doorstep, and a commercial license to operate tours and camping in our National Parks. Graeme and I started WA Wilderness in 2014 as part of our 'Pemberton Discovery Tours' when the then 'Department of Conservation' realised that there were a lot of people who don't do camping due to a multitude of factors; these include: Time, Lack of Equipment, Newbie's who want to 'give it a go' before investing in expensive camping equipment and even baby moons, or camping with little children when every inch of space in the car is precious. So, we operate in the Warren National Park, it is some 8000Ha of National Park and stunningly beautiful Karri Forest, our campsites are located near the Warren River and are separate, so although you may see other campers you are not on top of each other. We set up everything for you, so all you have to do is turn up with your food and your family. To keep our pricing down we offer optional linen, so you can choose to bring your favourite doona. The sites are also unpowered however we offer 12V lighting and the option for a portable toilet. (There is a toilet on site as well.) There are steps leading into the river, the perfect place to paddle or dip your feet. We have a maximum of 8 sites on location here so there is plenty of space for privacy. We are only 15 minutes from the beautiful town of Pemberton, complete with wineries, galleries, restaurants, shopping and much more! You may also wish to join a tour or two - the Pemberton Tram runs daily, and we give you mates rates on our tours. We find our camps are perfect for busy people, who wish to try / go camping and value the opportunity to turn up to a complete camp, set up for you to enjoy from the start.

2 nights at ShantiVan by the Dam

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Shantivan. The location is just amazing, overlooking a beautiful dam, and surrounded by tall trees and bushland. The outdoor fire is a cozy addition, luckily the rain stayed away and we roasted marshmallows while stargazing which was definitely a highlight! It is located nearby the chocolate factory, lots of wineries/breweries and beautiful beaches to explore. If you’re looking for a secluded, peaceful getaway, Shantivan is the one for you!

One of the best Glamping experiences I have ever had in WA so far! The Dome is beautiful, clean and cozy. It was also the perfect setup for two families travelling together — especially when one of the families (us, not our friends 😄) had zero camping experience. Everything was so easy and well-organised that we could just relax and enjoy, without any stress or guesswork. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed while still giving us privacy to enjoy the experience. It was clear a lot of care has gone into creating a relaxing and memorable environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable outdoor escape!

Weekend Trip to Shanti Retreat

What a great little place this is! It's a nice escape from urban life, forest to the right and back, and farmland surrounding you everywhere else. The cottage is clean, tidy and has everything you'd really need for a weekend away. Paul the host is a great help and lovely to chat to. Definitely on the list to revisit!

Jodie and Dorothee have created a beautifully calming environment, which is genuinely and authentically grounding and nurturing for both the soul as well as the environment. The tiny house has everything you need and is cosy and comfortable. They also have great coffee and breakfasts at the cafe friday-sundays.

Kim is an absolutely wonderful host, with a gorgeous property. There is no shortage of hospitality and good old fashioned country friendliness here. Kim is willing to share her time and knowledge to get you the best experience and value for money in the area. Feeding the goats and horses, walking across the road to the Blackwood River and Sunnyside nature reserve or just sitting on the deck and watching the world and the ducks go by, there are suitable options for everyone. With picturesque morning mist and sunny afternoons, this was a gorgeous place to stop and you can’t imagine a host better than Kim. Looking forward to many more trips in the future

The van was set up with everything we needed to cook our own meals and was perfectly situated where we could go and explore the Margaret River region and not have to drive too far. The Glamping Dome was amazing to stay at, with both Scott and Catherine being fantastic hosts. My partner and I loved reconnecting with nature through walking around the property, watching the kangaroo and magpie families, and relaxing by the dam. We had an amazing time.

We loved the cabin, off grid solar set up. Was peaceful and quiet. Totally back to nature with the only was noise from the animals and native wildlife. Cabin was clean and tidy the bed was comfortable.
