Our cottage offers sustainable luxury, with two comfy queen-bed rooms, each has a private bathroom, plus a lounge/kitchen with a cosy fire.  There's space for four more camping nearby, sharing the facilities.This is off-the-grid living; electricity and water come from the sky, heat from burning home grown timber. Take a short walk to 5 kms of deserted beach and the national park, hang out round the fire-pit, enjoy our DVD and games library, order a meal… or a cocktail… or do nothing much at all. Our property is 75 acres of diverse wooded heath land, which we are enthusiastically rejuvenating to capture carbon. There’s a lot to see and like.

Pollys paddock is named after a beautiful palomino horse named Polly, who lived here as a loved member of our family into her early 40s. Polly's Paddock is a quiet camping area on the Mornington Peninsula. We are a couples only camping (adults only), no children, for safety reasons with a dam close by. Only 15 minutes from Mount Martha village and Mornington, restaurants, amazing wineries, weekend markets, cafes and golf courses. We are 10 minutes from swimming beaches and 20 minutes from surf beaches. This is a 5.5 acre block, consisting of the host’s residence, garden and parkland. Polly's Paddock is half of the block. We offer 2 flat caravan sites, both with drinking water , 1 with limited power , the other no power. There is a site with a glamping tent set in the garden. The 6 metre round tent sleeps 2, with a queen size bed, linen provided. It is carpeted, has a fridge, kettle and BBQ. Just pack your toothbrush, clothes, food and drinks. All 3 sites have the use of a shared composting toilet. For a refreshing experience there is an outdoor, open air hot shower overlooking the dam. Close by is a spacious shelter/shed with tables, chairs and a rustic kitchen area with sink and heater. Well behaved dogs are accepted on the caravan sites, but we ask that you please discuss with us prior to booking. Dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times, wild ducks and the properties own poultry wander here. No dogs on the glamping tent site. Campfires are allowed during the cooler months, left to the hosts discretion for safety reasons. We supply a fire pit. BYO wood. No fires apart from in the fire pits provided are to be lit. Fires are to be extinguished before going to bed or leaving. Tiny Castle is a custom built tiny house that overlooks farmland, bushland and the glorious Stzelecki Ranges including Mount Worth. With a large covered deck connected to the front of the tiny house, you don't have to go anywhere to witness Wedge-tailed Eagles, Black Cockatoos, King Parrots, Rosellas and Kookaburra to name a few. Or wombats scurrying into their warren in the embankment just below the tiny house. Or the wallabies that hang out in the front paddock. If you're a fit walker, you can hike up to the back of the property that borders an old pine plantation now full of regrowth where herds of deer call it home. At the right time of day, you're likely to see all kinds of water fowl in the damns around the property. And if you're lucky, our 3 alpaca will let you photograph them as they stare you down, but no cuddles for these guys -- they're there to keep the foxes away. Night time is magical. With no light pollution, it's a stargazers paradise and on a still evening you'll hear boobooks, possums and frogs. The popular tourist village of Yarragon is 16km down a winding unsealed road one way, while the larger town of Mirboo North is about the same distance going the other way. Mount Worth State Park is 13km from our property and Lyrebird Forest Walk Regional Park is 26km just outside Mirboo North. While there's a lot to do around these parts, my guess is you won't want to leave the property.

Whilst sheep and cattle graze on one side of the fence, the wildlife grazing on "our" side includes echidnas, wombats, wallabies, possums, koalas, and is home to more than 30 species of birds identified so far. Tarwin Lower EcoStudio is not far out of town and the Tarwin River (4 kms), for boating, paddling and fishing. Slightly further afield is Andersen Inlet (great fishing, paddling, paddle boarding, boating, and shallow waters for very young children), Venus Bay Surf beaches, and Walkerville South bay beach (with boat ramp). Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory less than an hour's drive away. And that's just the water sports. The Great Southern Rail Trail is just up the road, at Koonwarra or Leongatha, and has a range of rides with varying degrees of challenge. The Eco Studio itself is completely off grid, built from reclaimed and recycled materials, as part of our commitment to living lightly. There is an outdoor kitchen, and composting toilet, and our home garden (we live on the property too) is often abundant and the fresh organic produce is for sale for our visitors. We have come home from a perfect and tranquil trip at Jo & Russell's beautiful EcoStudio. We are honestly lost for words for this oasis they have created. The photos don't do it justice and every step of the way you are met with kindness from these two exceptional people. This studio is filled with love and every part has a story. We loved every part of the studio, it is so well thought out for the people visiting and for the environmental footprint. We hope this will be a returning spot for our family as we honestly couldn't think of a better spot to unwind and relax in nature. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful spot to everyone!

Weekend Trip to Polly's Paddock

My partner and I loved the glamping at Polly’s Paddock. We stayed for 2 nights and would have happily stayed for longer. Firstly, Amanda and Geoff were so kind and accomodating. We could tell how much care had been put into maintaining their beautiful property and facilities. There was a clean, toilet with running water and a lovely outdoor shower. Also, the tent had everything we needed- kettle, fridge, cutlery, dishes, fan. Both of us are 6ft tall and could comfortably walk around in the large tent, and the bed was really comfortable. I can’t recommend staying here more, we are planning on coming back soon. Only 5 minute drive to the beach and nearby shops. Thank you so much for the lovely stay :)

Weekend Trip to Bay Park Adventure Centre

We had a wonderful two-night stay at this cottage with our family. The place was absolutely amazing—clean, comfortable, and very well set up for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect, right in the centre of everything we wanted to visit around the Mornington Peninsula, which made getting around so easy. Fantastic facility at Glen Cromie, the sites are spacious, River is flowing adjacent to site which adds several options for activities for kids. The onsite van was well maintained and fully equipped. Staff ata reception/cafe was lovely and looked after everyone.

Fun mix of salvaged materials and native plants! We enjoyed our stay. A few practical considerations: 1. lots of glass, so bring a sleep mask if you wake with light 2. fold out 2nd bed is soft and springy 3. lots of pets in the past and some old furniture, so bring allergy/asthma meds if you might need them Had everything we needed, composting toilet smelled great, and gracious hosts!

Weekend Trip to Tiny Castle at Tynecastle Park

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The tiny home is set on stunning landscape, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The views are incredible, and the sunsets were a real highlight. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The tiny home itself is very well equipped, with everything you need. One of the highlights of the property is the walk through the property. It’s absolutely amazing, and I highly encourage everyone to take the time to explore it. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and would happily return.

We had the most relaxing, enjoyable weekend tucked away in the cabin. Very private, warm and with the amenities you need: comfy bed, tidy bathroom, cooking supplies. We enjoyed both cool evenings and rain at night - which was pleasant thanks to the cosy wood burner - plus blue sky days which made for great exploring and spotting wildlife, also close to the inlet and Venus bay. We were welcomed with freshly harvested strawberries from Jo which was a delight!

We loved our time at Tiny Castle! Whilst it's compact, it has everything you need. The weather wasn't kind to us, but our dog didn't mind and loved exploring the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend!

Susan's property is simply magical. If your chasing a country escape, seeing lots of wildlife, the property's Alpaca or just taking some time out in nature, this is your calling. The tiny house is fully equipped with everything you need, including a large BBQ on the balcony that has sensational views of hills and bush. We will certainly visit again!
