This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. Newly laid trails make exploring the property easy, from valleys to hilltops. If you are looking for a natural wonderland, where you can enjoy Australian bush camping at its absolute best, this is it. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife.
The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance.
The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space.
Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only.
If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life!
Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking.
Campfires are ok provided you BYO firepit, and they are kept small and manageable. There is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect for firewood. Strictly no cutting down of trees. No campfires during fire bans, or when conditions are not favourable.
Whilst fishing tours are possible on the property, you must discuss your interest with the host prior as there are important rules around this and is , it's strictly catch-and-release only. We do not allow hunting of any description so that our visitors can have a quiet and relaxing stay without interruptions.
Just five minutes up the road is Green Valley Fun Park with a huge playground, jumping pillow, animal walkabout, museum and 18 hole mini putt. So plenty to keep kids entertained both on and off the property!

"Glendawn" is a small farming/ cattle grazing property with many beaut spots for camping. There are 2 sites with access to power and a few others without. It's a great place to get away but not too far from town. Fire pits and some firewood provided.
We have a powered site in the old Woolshed. The Woolshed has had some modifications. It has a camp kitchen, hot and cold running water, toilet & shower. There is a fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, gas BBQ, outdoor fire pit, chairs, power and lighting. Large central area indoors. Its a delightful spot in the paddock to enjoy being "in the country".
The woolshed itself is 2WD accessible. In the winter months its really quite cold overnight. There's a great outdoor firepit and I provide firewood for $10. There's a patio heater too and its 8kg gas cylinder costs
$30. I will provide the first one.
This venue has been popular for families 'plugging in' their vans and for others to roll their swags out either inside the shed or under the stars. Privacy and peace and quiet in abundance here.
We also have unpowered camping in the paddocks. There are a few places with shade near a dam, by the old hayshed, or on a hill with views over the valley, excellent sunsets and a clearing for camping, 4WD accessible.
Children under 12 stay for free on unpowered sites!

We have a stunning 640 acre cattle farm nestled in the hills of the Northern Tablelands, overlooking the Wellingrove Valley. Redbank has many beautiful places and things to see, including two natural gullies full of native birds and wildlife, native woodlands, four beautiful dams and wild fallow deer.
Redbank also has about 140ha set aside under Biodiversity Conservation Trust. This is a "no drive" area but always open to walking. There is a map available to show where everything on the property is located.
Redbank features diverse terrain, from secluded forests and woodlands to open undulating paddocks with excellent views and sunsets.
A campfire is allowed, however it needs to be kept at a reasonable size, especially during fire restriction periods. Please keep the fire within the allocated fireplace provided. At times we provide guests with firewood when we are able, but they are permitted to use nearby timber collected themselves.
We have multiple campsites available, however we realise that you may want to be independent and camp in a unique place! We understand this, however we will direct you to a spot which best suits the campers' and their vehicle type, as some of our tracks are 4x4 only. We limit numbers of groups to the number of campsites available. In this way, we protect the environment and wildlife. We will be here to help you decide on the best campsite on arrival.
There is some access to water (not necessarily drinking), but you will need to bring your own shower. There are no rubbish facilities or showers and limited access to toilet facilities.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under your control at all times as we have cattle on the property. We have a friendly Maremma guardian dog who can turn up unannounced. He will most probably lick you to death.

Sites
- we run a undesignated system meaning you can set up and camp anywhere you would like however some ideas below.
Anywhere around the dam
You have an option to camp at the shed where there is a generator for power (lighting) and toilet amenities. This area is generally flat and can accommodate any type of camping vehicle.
There is a shed to provide shelter for your food prep etc. There is a sink under the awning but you will need to carry water in a container to wash dishes. Outside there is wood-burning BBQ the camping paddock is fully fenced in .
For 4WD enthusiasts, there are good camping spots at the top of the mountain ridge however need to be self contained eg toilet.
You will need to bring your own fresh drinking water supply and unleaded fuel to run the water pump and generator.
We have secure cattle yards as a holding space if holidaying with your horses (please see Extras for horse facility fees).
Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley and relax in front of the campfire by night. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
There is no phone reception on site
There is a pub in Bundarra where meals hospitality and spending time with the locals and a corner store 25km away at Bundarra, and all shops and amenities are available 75km at Inverell.

We are pet friendly however we do have livestock on the property, therefore dogs etc must be well controlled at all times. Excellent fishing opportunities for Murray Cod available on dams near campsites however please catch and release. We will let you know designated fishing areas on your arrival. Bring your own kayak or canoe (life jackets) for a paddle on the main dam.
All campers need to be fully self-sufficient regarding toilet and shower and take all waste away with them on departure.

Cathy’s place is a a lovely place to stop and relax if you are looking to explore Glencoe, Glen Innes and Armidale. Quiet and private, it has the advantage of a bathroom with flushing toilet and hot shower. Plus a stove and fridge. We were the only campers in the field beside the old shed with only the cows mooing in the distance to keep us company. John went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable including making a fire for us and providing fresh eggs for sale.

Wow, this place is going to go close to my favourite Hipcamp.
Firstly, Susannah is so so helpful and kind. The generosity as a ‘first responser’ was overwhelmingly kind and while so appreciated- I absolutely didn’t expect it!
I thought from the pictures getting our 21ft van in might have been tricky but it was one ‘semi tight turn’ and the gentlest slop.
We swam and definitely recommend taking a kayak. Our 2 year old loved sitting at the waters edge with us for ‘water play’
There was one other camper there for a brief period but it’s like you’re in complete isolation and just perfect. No phone reception. Huge grass patch beautifully mowed.
The stars in the sky of a night are something to see for yourself.

Just spent 6 nights at Site 1 and what a wonderful site it is, plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs. Great access and also good access to launch the kayak and do some fishing. Would highly recommend this site for families, or just wanting to have enough space and not be near other campers. We will be back and be bringing along friends and extra family. The host Sussanah was also wonderful to speak to and very helpful with direction to our site.

We had a lovely stay! Shane came down and made sure we had a good spot and were comfortable and let us know there was a kyak for the kids to use! Was very peaceful and a beautiful view to wake up to. The kids had a swim and ran around. We only stayed one night as we had pre arranged bookings but if we didn’t we would had stayed another night or two. definitely recommended if in the area!

Great place to camp right off the highway as I was heading up to Queensland and needed a place a bit closer than Tamworth to stay for the sake of my drive. Spot was fantastic, I was a last minute booking but Cathy was understanding and welcoming! John was great he showed me everything around and the things I could use. There’s an outdoor and indoor stove to cook on and he provided wood for me to make a fire and sit outside with my dogs enjoying the farm! It was amazing to have a hot shower and working toilet as well as a warm indoor spot to escape the rain and a fridge to keep the drinks cold.
Would definitely recommend to anyone.

100% Recommend. This is the most beautiful campsite. Kay meet us on arrival and showed us our lovely camp for the night. As there was no one at the large fire pit site for the night, she kindly let us go up there. Surrounded by wildlife, kangaroos, birds and goats, it’s the perfect place to relax and unplug. Thanks again Kay!

After some weeks ‘on the road’ with lots of heat and storms the ‘Woolshed’ was such a haven. No just the private shower an loo, but the HUGE space in the woolshed itself. We are self contained in our Moho but it was so comfortable to have a kitchen, dining and lounging area. It ‘rustic’ and thereby enables the camping/outdoors/travelling experience to continue, Frances is so responsive and accommodating, we would not hesitate to return.

Great location by the river, stunning views of the property and surrounding area. The goose in the river kept us entertained! One of a few spots available but not on top of each other so great for privacy.
