Tent camping at Platypus creek was a great experience. Plenty of dry straws and firewoods found on the ground that made us easy to light fire. Would like to go back again.

Platypus Creek was everything we wished for in a campsite. It was private, quiet, beautiful, level and accommodated our every need. The campsite was close to the twelve apostles and other tourist attractions (thirty minutes drive) however we found it difficult to leave such a tranquil setting. We would have no hesitation in recommending Platypus Creek to anyone considering staying. Thank you to Peggy-Lee - highly recommended!

This is a true 5-star campsite. The land is spectacularly beautiful, the sites are private, and everything is beautifully maintained. Peggy was a pleasure to deal with and communicated clearly from start to finish. The instructions were easy to follow. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an excellent camping experience.

Camping in an open free space away from the hustle and bustle of everywhere over the hectic xmas period was pure bliss. It was a perfect spot to go in all the touristy directions of the great Ocean road, we went back to Apollo Bay, Warrnambool, and did everything in between, without being rushed

We enjoyed our stay at this site, nice and spacious and not at all crowded, even when fully booked. Nice and quiet and good location.
But look, out for the leeches if you’re near the water!

We really enjoyed our stay, the site was spacious, with shade from tall trees, by the edge of the creek, and with privacy. Quiet and peaceful, great location! Clear instructions and easy to access the site, location allows you to explore the surrounding area, including visiting the 12 Apostles, Timboon and the Gourmet Trail. Recommended!

We loved our stay at Platypus Creek! We stayed one night on our Great Ocean Road trip, camping in our swag, and driving our 2WD car.
Directions to our site were clear. The site was spacious, private, and felt safe. There were other people camping on the property, though werent in our view. The main house on the property was in view, but was far enough away. While we didnt meet Peggy Lee in person, she was a lovely host, with great communication, and a well prepared camp site.
The drive down was BEAUTIFUL and it was amazing waking up to kookaburras singing.
Would for sure recommend, and would absolutely stay again.

The property was divine, filled with birdcall, surrounded by rolling hills and kangaroos. We had site 4, which was near the road and front gate, but I think about three cars went by in the three days we were there. Site 4 is also on a considerable slope so consider that if it would be an issue for you. We went for a walk and the other sites looked level and very private.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay here and our two little dogs also thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks so much to the friendly and responsive host, Peggy-Lee.

Site was private and easy to find the entrance to with flat ground and a wide space. However the grass was particularly long and full of spiders, leeches and large flies. Being summer the creek was low and the edge was overgrown. We decided not to start a fire due to the high risk of lighting up the rest of the paddock, despite the nice fire pit which had been provided. Did not look like the pictures at our time of stay.
It was fine for us for us as two adults but wouldn’t recommended if you have kids or dogs.
We had a lovely night under the stars in a secluded spot. But we do have mixed feelings about the site

Great place for quiet camping. Plenty of birdlife. Something to be aware of is that there were heaps of crickets around. Didn’t bother us, but may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Lots of places closeby to look around as well.

Peggy was great. very helpful. The spot was nice probably a lot nicer when the creek is running. It would be great for big groups. It’s in a good location for exploring.

Platypus Creek was an excellent camping area, plenty of level space and beautiful scenery. We took a day trip to Port Campbell for lunch. We can highly recommend this camp.

What a beautiful private site. It was well sign posted once inside the gate. However we did follow the sat nav and it took us to the next gate. And we ended up in the cow paddock- whoops. Please apologise to the neighbour

We loved camping here!! Beautiful sunset above the hillside. Campsite 2 had plenty of space and flat ground for our rooftop tent. There is plenty of trees for shade as we went during the peak of summer. The abundance of wildlife we saw was great too. Would recommend Playtpus Creek to others.

Peggy’s communication and understanding was fantastic
The space was large, flat and super quiet.
The grass was nicely maintained with a fire pit accessible.
Great spot to stop on the western side of the Otways.

Brilliant spot next to the creek which is quiet, peaceful and spacious. Peggy’s property is a great spot if you just want to disconnect from it all for a few days or alternatively use it as a base to go explore some of the offerings in the area. Some of these include Gorge Chocolates, Cobden township and the 12 Apostles which are all within a 30 minute drive. The Kookaburras chirp like nature's alarm clocks in the morning and again in the evening which sound amazing. On sunset there are Kangaroos making their way through the property and late in to the evening Wombats waddling past the campsite. It was incredibly wet and cold during our Winter stay which was expected, however the campfire kept us warm and as most of the area is grass there was very little mud/dirt as the water drained away quickly. Definitely a great spot for all weather conditions.

A fantastic location surrounded by a creek, grasslands, heaps of birdlife (especially loved the Kookaburras) and kangaroos! We enjoyed nearby 4x4ing, campfires and tranquility. Great communication from hosts, highly recommend!
