I had such a fantastic time camping at Faraway Lodge. I happened to come on a night where I was the only one who booked so I had the whole area plus lake to myself, plus there are kayaks and paddles you can use! The area is incredibly private. There is a flush toilet, shower, fridge, microwave sink, kettle. I easily could have stayed here longer! Bruce was really helpful and gave me tips on the surrounding areas. He recommended to visit Timboon nearby, glad I did, had some of the best ice cream of my life there! Especially good on the 35 degrees day! I also really loved meeting his little dog who rides on his motorbike with him! I'm sure to be back!

Such a great spot! Gorgeous views, kayaks were a nice touch! Loo, shower and prep are great bonus - felt like we were the only people on earth so quiet and peaceful 😍 Only downside was there were an awful lot of flies about but think we may have been unlucky. Look forward to visiting again 🤩

We’ve stayed at this awesome campsite a few times now. It’s our favourite!!! Awesome hosts, views, privacy, dogs allowed, a toilet and shower. Won’t find better .

Unfortunately I need to “highly recommend this place” as I WILL be back and don’t really want others interfering lol. The host are amazing. Nothing was a problem. The site was excellent. Large clean and perfect. The facilities listed are great. Top things are (not in any order). Night sky, peacefulness, town/shops 6 mins away, facilities, lake access. Personal favourite was sitting at the end of the pier looking up at the stars late at night then going to sit by the fire.
Only issue I would say is the gravel road around 500m you need to go down to the lake side. Has a semi sharpe inclined coming out which I wasn’t sure of if our 2wd could pull the small caravan out but the hosts come down and pulled it out with the proper vehicle. This is why they get 10/10. Lovely people and lovely site.

We recently stayed for a couple of days at Faraway Lodge and it was an absolutely fantastic experience—especially for a large group and families with kids. The amenities truly set this place apart from the rest. Having access to a flushable toilet, hot water shower, power hook-up, and an additional storage shed was a huge bonus. We even used the shed as a makeshift kitchen on the days when the weather wasn’t great, which made the stay incredibly comfortable and stress-free.
The campsite is completely secluded and private, well away from the main residence and you basically have the whole lake all to yourself which was the best thing about it. It really felt like we had our own peaceful space surrounded by nature. The location by the lake was beautiful and perfect for relaxing and glorious views, highly instagramable!
We stayed with a big group—multiple families with kids, lots of big tents and cars, there was ample space for all of us. There was no shortage of activities. The provided tin boat and canoes were a highlight, and we made great use of them on the lake, creating lots of fun memories together.
The host was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They supplied firewood, toiletries, and other essentials, and regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. That level of hospitality made a big difference and really added to how relaxed and welcome we felt.
Will definitely be coming back!

Bruce’s place was unreal. The location sat right by the lake and the whole area felt private, quiet, and properly secluded. Having canoes available was a big bonus and the utilities were solid. The tour at the start helped a lot too. He was kind, friendly, and welcoming. Already looking forward to coming back.

I had a beautiful experience staying in this place. The owner welcome me and tour me all around his place. Very clean and tidy. There is also hot shower.
Very affordable price with everything included. I would love to stay there again if i had a chance. Coming from NT adventure around Australia.

The most gorgeous and private site, near a beautiful lake! amenities for everything you’d need including a fire pit (can also buy firewood) we only stayed for one night but wish it was longer, reminded us the true beauty in camping!
The hosts are super lovely too with knowledge of the area and full of recommendations! anyone considering this place, book it!!!!!

What a spectacular spot on Lake Keilambete! Just one site so go on your own or take some friends as we did plus our puppy dog. Fenced off one acre section so perfect to take your furry friends. Bruce popped down for a chat which was great...nice bloke sharing his beautiful property! It is fairly exposed to the elements so go prepared. The facilities were really great....nice and clean. We will definitely be back!

Amazing site, one with the lot, from the views over the lake, private and peaceful, to the facilities. A flushing toilet, shower, kitchen including microwave and fridge. Huge fire pit to sit around and star gaze. Bruce was friendly, helpful and directions were easy to follow. Cannot wait to stay again.

This site was honestly incredible, the weather decided to be pretty close to perfect. Waking up to the view of the lake plenty of space for my dog to run around and explore I can’t say enough good things about this site. Highly recommend it and I will definitely be booking it again in the warmer months to enjoy the lake

We loved the view, but unfortunately, when we arrived, the weather was absolutely terrible. We got a bit too wet and encountered some hazards on the second day. We decided to leave earlier and had to tow ourselves out from the campsite because the ground was too wet and slippery for our car. I would definitely book again, but only for days with good weather.

Such a nice place to stay! Very quiet and secluded. Area has been leveled out and set up well, so tent and car camping is easy.
Flushing toilet, portable water from tap, hot water and shower, little kitchenette with appliances (kettle, microwave, toaster). Fire pit provided is large and has a hot plate attached if needed (can buy crate of firewood + kindling if required as well). Awesome view of the lake and a small pier to stand on.
Would recommend a 4x4 if going during winter, or has rained a bit beforehand as way down was quite slippery (was for us, but went very slow. Host said will have more gravel/rock laid eventually to help).
Overall, awesome place! Will definitely come again 😁
