We were racing to get east and stumbled upon this hipcamp. We didn't pull in until just before sunset, and what a beauty it was, which was the perfect amount to light to get the fire bath going. Quick dinner while it heated up and then we (kids too) piled in and we blown away by the experience. 6 shooting stars in first 20 mins and could even see the depth of space within the milky way. Eldest was so impressed (tween) that thoughts of missing the Winton night show disappeared.
Julia creek was fun but this was unforgettable.
The actual camp was really cool too.. but the sky and the sunrises and sunsets will stay with us forever.

Great site, the history of the station is phenomenal! Facilities more than adequate and Will was a great host.
Basic camp, all you need for an overnighter, off highway, only 1 other van the night we stayed. Perhaps a bit over priced but we would say again.
Overall we loved it fabulous little spot but the amenities and the site needed a bit of a clean and tidy up but if we were travelling this way again we would definitely overnight stay

Stayed 3 nights at Ayrshire Downs. Great place to unwind and relax. Enjoyed a tour of the station with
John and learnt a lot about the history and general station work. Facilities clean and great shower pressure. Would recommend and return.

We had a lovely stay here. Huge big area with bbq, showers, toilets and bins. Far enough in from the road where there is no traffic noise. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Great information boards with the history of the property and Banjo Patterson. Would definitely stay again.

It’s very private, we were the only ones there. The cattle are very inquisitive, sunset and sunrise are lovely and you hardly notice the road noise 600m away. There is no body of water there despite the pictures. And whilst they may be flushing toilets, I left one to the 6 or so green tree frogs who are obviously very at home there, and the other had not been cleaned for a very long time. So best to be self sufficient with shower and toilet at this spot.

We loved the tranquility of the location. Stunning sunrise and sunset. Instructions were perfect. Highly recommend this location for a peaceful break.
Absolutely love Ayershire and made it work on our trip to this year. Awesome place to camp and this time John took us for a tour of the farm and the history. Loved the insight of living out here in the good and bad years.
Totally recommend. And you’ll love the sunsets.

Flat well spread out sites but only a little shade. Toilet (flushing) and cold shower in rustic corrugated iron shed were clean and quite functional. Nice history information and a tour if desired.
Flat land, rustic toilets, cool showers. We watched the sunset on one side, then lots of stars, then sunrise opposite the following morning. 200m from the main road.

Very well set up for genuine outback camping. We were totally self-sufficient but there is access to running water (needs to be boiled), 2 cold showers and 2 flushing toilets. There were only 2 other couples camping when we were there so it was very private. Spectacular star gazing. Highly recommend if you are looking for real camping.

This was a great camp and William and his family were fantastic to us. The toilets were flushing and the showers were cold but we used their water and heated it and used our own shower setup.

Site was easy to locate and well maintained. Great amenities, just be prepared for a cold shower. Beautiful sunset and night sky. It was that peaceful i missed the sunrise

Overall, the campsite was as advertised: well off the road (although you can still hear the road trains at night), big open flat camping area, with a basic toilet block (flushing toilets, cold showers).
Big plus: big sky at night and huge horizon!
Major drawback was the toilets - they were very dirty and unsanitary. Clearly had not been cleaned for some time. The camping area could be better maintained - the prickly acacia was a problem - VERY sharp on the ankles and feet!

Gorgeous peaceful camp location, spacious area with basic facilities (toilet, cold showers) look out for the frogs in the toilet. Magnificent crisp starry night with a lovely communal campfire available for use.

I tried to cancel my accommodation. Due to car break down.
Tried to cancel on the App. Didn't reply. Contacted the owner. No reply.
We would like at least a response and refund.
It's a beautiful spot, great sunrise and sunset. Not busy, so we had the place for ourselves. Very idyllic.
Lovely and quiet. Had a great fire pit and a fire stove.
On a down side: Table/benches are a bit rugged, and toilets had frogs nesting in them (frogs = snakes), so we preferred not to use them.
Great place to stop on the way for one night.
