Want to feel the vastness of the outback without having to drive for hours? Here at Leander you'll find wide open spaces, red dirt, blue skies and great views, and it's only 20 minutes from town. Sit back after a long day of exploring all Longreach has to offer, look up at a blanket of stars and feel like you're the only people on earth. Leander is a goat property located on a red sand ridge about 25 kilometres from Longreach, Qld. Toby, Georgia, and their two kids farm Rangeland/Boer Goats and also have a small herd of Wagyu cows. The site is completely self-sufficient with no amenities, so please make sure this suits your camping setup. Please note this is a working property - there may be stock around and there is lots of native wildlife. Pets are welcome but we ask you be mindful and they be kept on a leash at all times. We also request you do not go exploring on your own. If you would like a tour, please ask - we'd love to show you around. All weather driveway. Fairly good Telstra reception at all sites.The Lookout is situated on a picturesque rocky outcrop overlooking the native scrub, and as well as a great view of our beautiful Western Qld sunsets. This site is about 1km from the homestead, and about 9km in off the highway on an all weather driveway. Pets are allowed, but please make sure they are on a lead at all times.

There is a flat area, approx. 20m2, to park your van or pitch a tent, and is located approx. 40 metres from the lookout. There is a firepit for you to use if the season allows. The Leander Lookout
This is a very special place with 360 views unspoilt by any sign of modern life. We stayed an extra night to relax and unwind in this beautiful location and will definitely return. Warm thanks to Georgia & Toby.

Great spot just 20 mins out of Longreach. 270 degree unreal views and great to watch the sunset. Will definitely be returning! Cheers

Perfect spot if you enjoy camping without neighbours. The view,the sunrise and sunsets are just spectacular. Hosts are very warm and welcoming nothing was too much trouble.

The Leander Lookout
We loved our stay at Leander Lookout. It was so peaceful and the views were amazing. The sunset was gorgeous. Georgia and Toby stopped by for a chat and were very nice. If we’re in the area, we would certainly stay again.

The Leander Lookout
What a fantastic spot!! We absolutely loved it. If you're after complete privacy and seclusion while camping, this is for you. We relaxed and played board games, and at night watched the zillions of stars, comets and satellites out there. We will miss it dearly until we come back!! Hosts Toby amd Georgia are awesome and brought us fruits and some meat to sample, and showed our kids the goats and horses. Thank you so so SO much to the Whips for sharing your paradise with us. See you soon!
