It was a nice campground. Quiet and peaceful. The warm shower was a big plus. Allen is a very nice host.

Great location, super accessible and beautiful. Access to the river in summer was amazing and a life saver on hot days.
Bbq, shower and toilet facilities all onsite - super helpful.

Lovely spot, with simple amenities, great host- Allan. Shame about the goat climb to the river and the irrigation pump that started at 6am

This campsite was great! Allan was super nice and greeted us on arrival. He has a great set up with a nice shower, camp kitchen area and a communal fridge. Amazing campsite views as well.

Allen and Sue are great hosts. Very welcoming and willing to help. We had a lovely chat about farming and the history of the place. Would go again for sure.

We loved our 4 days at Camp on Hunter! Allan and Sue are very accommodating and friendly. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent. There is also a camp kitchen & extra tables and chairs for larger groups. We camped in our vans overlooking the river & enjoyed watching the bird life, lots of trees for shade. We will be back!

First time using hipcamp and wont be the last. Allan and Sue are awesome hosts. The property is amazing. Right on the river with an abundance of birdlife. Toilets and shower were exceptionally clean. Even with a few other campers around, place was still quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back

Hunter on Elmslie is such a special place! I first came for a solo trip with my dog, loved it so much that I came back with my kids, and next time we’ll be bringing the caravan!
Alan and Sue are amazing hosts—friendly, welcoming, and so helpful. Alan met me on arrival and showed me everything I needed, and Sue was just as lovely, making the stay feel truly comfortable.
The campsite is fantastic: a well equipped camp kitchen with fridge/freezer, barbecue, and even a fire with an oven. There’s plenty of toilets, and an awesome gas hot shower which is perfect after a fun day by the river. The river is beautiful for fishing, canoeing and swimming and the sunsets are just gorgeous.
Pet- and family-friendly, great for solo campers or big groups—Hunter on Elmslie is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to return again!

Camp on Hunter at Elderslie
Hunter on Elmslie is hands down my favourite camping site so far!
From the moment I arrived, Alan and Sue made me feel so welcome!
Alan greeted me and pointed me in the right direction for the best spots. They’re genuinely lovely hosts and you can tell they really care about everyone having a great stay.
The campsite suits all kinds of campers — swags, tents, and caravans. I stayed first as a solo camper with my dog Billy, then came back with my family for another stay the same week!
I’ll definitely be bringing my caravan back again to test it out too.
It’s very caravan-friendly, with easy access, and also super dog-friendly, my boy loved it there!
The amenities are great, especially the big camp kitchen with everything you need — fridge, freezer, cooking gear, microwave, barbecue, and even a fire with an oven. The hot gas shower was amazing after swimming in the river, and the toilets were always clean and well looked after.
Such a great spot for families, couples, groups, or a quiet getaway.
Thanks so much Alan and Sue for such a great stay and for making us feel so welcome — we can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful location, quiet and a few steps from the river. Friendly host who welcomed me and gave me a rundown of the campsite. Definitely recommend being up early to watch the sunrise over the hills!

What a beautiful spot, from having a dip in the river to the beautiful outlook from the campsite. Allan has provided an undercover area with a fridge, kettle and cooking area, a beautiful touch. There are showers and toilets available and it is somewhere you could stay for weeks, will absolutely be back.

The camp kitchen needs attention as it was dusty and unappealing. No signage to show how things work fior example water access. The portable toilet was unclean. The location is lovely but doesn't warrant the fee considering no power. Very disappointed.

Such a peaceful, well equipped and maintained piece of paradise.
Allan is an absolute gem.
Easy to find a mostly level area to set up.
Amenities are clean and easy to get to.
The river is amazing too!

Lovely spot on the river. Plenty of room and the gas hot shower was a welcome bonus. Allan is a fabulous host and very friendly.

Great camp location, close enough to townships and the vineyards but also also far enough away for that little respite. Allen is such a great host and appreciate him and the family sharing their slice of heaven, facilities are quite and basic that provide some camping comforts at a great price. Stayed for 3 nights working nearby and in afternoon a couple of kangaroos grazed nearby, a little gumbumple with the host whilst watering finished off the days as an excellent way to unwind.

Great place to stay. Camp area was very well manintained with enough space between campers to allow plenty of privacy. Easy to find and easy access in with excellent communication from the host. Good spot to kayak from however the river was pretty low at the time making the walk down to the water a little longer than expected. Suggest if you have a heavy kayak like me to make sure you have a kayak trolley.

Nice spot to camp with the kids as there is nice grass and shade near the trees. Great amenities too. The host Alan was very helpful showing us around when we arrived.
