Mike's country home and land
11 sites · Lodging50 acres · SCWelcome to Creekside FarmCreekside Farm is a place where you can slow down and enjoy things you might not normally notice. We are glad you are Here.We invite you to sit back, take your shoes off, and breathe deeply as you read this – slowly.Creekside is very special place where you, and those important to you can unplug and gently "be" with eachother. My wife Beth and I fell in love with this property because it has a unique way of calling us out of our busy livesand into a meaningful space of connection with our senses, each other and those we care about. We hope youhave the chance to experience this on your visit. In my work as a leadership consultant and executive coach I've had the opportunity to find a few "bestpractices" for a meaningful experience of life. I offer them to you below should you want to try them out duringyour visit. I promise they will impact your time here - and your time when you leave here - tremendously:Being and DoingSometimes it’s just fine to sit down and not do anything.Experience and CaptureSometimes you don’t need to capture an experience, just experience it.Quality and QuantitySometimes quality of life is more satisfying than quantity of life. Maybe less is more.Sensing and ThinkingSometimes thinking is overrated. Sitting still and sensing what is right in front of us can be eye-opening.Silence and NoiseSometimes saying nothing says everything. Turning off the phones and devices and listening to the nature’ssounds can further awaken and resensitize us.Below you will find information about this special place. It includes invitations, requests and details about howthings work here at the farm.We invite you...1. To use your time here to nourish your Self, Spirit and Body. Walk, breathe, smell, touch, see, and taste whatyou desire.2. To put away your phones and devices and be with the people you are here with.3. To remove your shoes when in the home and feel the floor under your feet.4. To be outside whenever you can. There is goodness out there. Go anywhere you want on property, it isbordered by the creek.5. To eat slowly, talk slowly, walk slowly and just hang.

3 Creeks Camp and NaturPreserve
12 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Anderson, SCThis Property was purchased by Grandfather in the 70s  and then was passed to my Mother. In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. After achieving the basics I decided that the best use of this beautiful land was to create a place for people to relax and enjoy, a park like environment dedicated to preserving natural beauty and amplifying it through a permaculture lifestyle. 8 years later I am blown away at how far the dream has become a reality and love sharing my space with people from all over the country.

Heirloom Hamlet
5 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Ridgeland, SCAni, Fitch and I are typical people (mostly) who are running an experiment. We are trying to find out if a person can use their hands and their head to handcraft a little piece of heaven, with very little money. Three years ago we left our South Florida home studio and creative furniture business to pursue a new goal. We wanted to do something special while we still could...something different and interesting with our lives. Have we done that? You be the judge. We set out to design and hand build an experience in environmentally friendly living that balances modern and old-world homestead features. You will see us erecting micro-cabins, installing solar arrays, dry toilets and composting. We're woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. We are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever possible, but also in being reasonable and balanced in that endeavor. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipality utilities as they fit our homestead design. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" bio-compatible, small living can feel. We all have priorities and they will naturally vary greatly...and that's okay. But we don't believe that any of us should be so self-focused that we completely shut out the importance of being good to the earth and good to others. To be completely transparent, though, we also have had a goal to inspire something good from within, in any onlooker. We've found it to be so fullfilling to identify real wants and needs from perceived ones, and then to work hard to literally, physically turn ideas into a reality. It is a true challenge to turn off some of the modern world's noise and nail down what we personally really need and want from life, as opposed to what we have been trained to need and want. Even if we are among the few that can do that, it may be even more difficult to muster the courage to make the changes necessary to go and get that life. Ani and I feel like this "happiness" word we hear so often has become such a buzz word that it has been overused (or at least misused) these days. We think that maybe more of us would feel more fullfilled if we were striving for "the pursuit of contentment" rather than the mystical "pursuit of happiness". Possibly then we'd feel a sense of control over our life and not be so aimlessly trying to get a hold on the abstract. This is the conclusion we have personally come to and it is where we've aimed our focus as we carve out our place. At the very least we hope that our guests don't expect to find a common, and definitely not corporate, approach to living here, that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. We hope that as we cross paths, we won't be held to a business standard that we have worked very hard to remove ourselves from. We realized everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a relaxing getaway in a unique hideaway.
