Mescal Canyon Retreat
3 sites · Lodging20 acres · AZMiles Away from the Ordinary Mescal Canyon Retreat is an integral part of our 20.5 acre property nestled in a small valley in the High Desert of Central Arizona. We are in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country, only 18 miles outside of Sedona. The entire property is “off the grid” which means we produce all our electricity from solar energy. All our buildings have been built with natural, green and sustainable materials. We have a large organic garden, a small flock of chicken and a 100-vine vineyard. The property has a collection of buildings that have been hand built by myself and Andrea over the 38 years that we have called this land our home. There is our Main House, the Casita where our caretakers reside, 2 B&B Rooms with the adjacent Canyon Studio, a Hot Tub and Hot Tub Terrace, a Massage Studio, Workshop and Dance Space (Cedar Studio) and my Architecture Office. The property is bordered on 3 sides by National Forest and the remaining side is private land. We are located at the end of the road at the mouth of Mescal Canyon. The accommodations are comprised of 2 private rooms with private bathrooms in a hand built passive solar stone building. The Gold Room has a private bath, king size bed and a private patio. The Sage Room has a private bath, queen size bed and a patio adjacent to the room entry. Both rooms have private entrances and their own separately controlled A/C and heating units. They are separated from the main house by a courtyard. Adjacent to the bedrooms is the Canyon Studio. This space has a full kitchen and eating area, giving you the opportunity to prepare your own meals. As well as providing a common area for relaxing and gathering with one another during your stay. It is complete with a fireplace for the colder times of year. The Canyon Studio is also a hand built, passive solar stone building with an outdoor flagstone terrace and a beautiful view up into Mescal Canyon and Mingus Mountain. Mescal Canyon Retreat is the perfect home away from home for an individual, a couple, or two couples, families and small groups traveling together as our space can host up to 6 people. Up to 2 in each private room and a 5th or 6th person can sleep comfortably on the pull-out couches in the Canyon Studio. The retreat is also a beautiful and private location for a romantic escape, an individual or couple looking to find peace and quiet in nature or for someone needing a getaway online work environment.

Grand Canyon Eco Retreat
7 sites · Lodging, Tents10 acres · Williams, AZLocated on 10 off-grid acres near the Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon Glamping invites you to be immersed in the serene landscape of our Northern Arizona property. This is the native land of the Hualapai, Havasupai, Hopi, and Dine people. Awarded "Best Hipcamp in Arizona" by Outside Magazine! On our mostly untouched hillside you can disconnect from the day-to-day hustle, see local wildlife, lie back in a hammock, and have the chance to interact with the land in its unaltered form. Our number one goal is sustainability and we have built everything man-made here with that in mind. This involves using reclaimed lumber as much as possible, not building with plastics or concrete, and collecting all of our power from the sun. We hope to provide the most comfort possible while keeping the land as close to how we found it as possible. Please respect the land while you are here and the land will take care of you! We started in 2019 with a piece of untouched, hilly land, and created a natural sanctuary for mindful retreats. We now have 3 glamping yurts open half the year, a tiny A-frame cabin which is open year round, a yoga deck, a sauna and cold tub, composting bathrooms and open-air hot showers, a picnic area, and more projects in the works. You're welcome to walk around exploring to see what animals you might see! We also offer 4-day yoga retreats which run most weekends from Friday through Monday. Yoga classes, guided hikes, Reiki, massage, or sauna use are available as add-ons for any guests! Glamping is a great option for first-time campers since you don't have to buy or bring any gear! Our yurts and tiny cabin are fully furnished with comfortable beds, solar power, lights, and lots of extra blankets for those chilly mountain nights! Some listings come with a camp stove and cooking gear, or you can ask about adding on Chef Zach's famous vegetarian breakfast!

Wits End Ranch
8 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Yucca, AZ"Thar's gold in them thar hills" could've been coined right here.  There are gold mines and evidence of miners picking quartz etc. all around us.  Cairns marked off areas that are still here over a hundred years later.  We are the center of the oldest examples of Arizona cattlemen starting herds right here.  Round-ups and branding still go on every year.  One of the prettiest areas in the state for all kinds of unique boulder and rock formations, flora and fauna.  Wonderful hiking and scenic drives.

With its warm, sunny weather, Phoenix is a year-round camping destination. Just outside the city, the vast Arizona desert and mountains extend for miles. Sleep under the stars in the desert, or set up camp by a mountain lake. Whether you’re looking for an in-town RV park or a wilderness escape, Phoenix has you covered.

Camp among the cacti at Lost Dutchman State Park, which provides both RV and tent camping. Here, an extensive trail network takes you into the Tonto National Forest. In the summer, grab a site at Coon Bluff and join the locals in floating the Lower Salt River. For the classic western experience, try horseback riding from your campsite at Usery Mountain Regional Park.

When the temperatures rise, locals head for the hills near Cave Creek. Fish for trout and swim in the river at Box Bar Campground, or stay by the lake at Horseshoe Campground. Feel like roughing it? Head into the Mogollon Rim for quiet backcountry camping and cool weather.

Of course, Phoenix also offers fantastic desert camping. To the south and west, you’ll find RV resorts with hot showers, picnic tables, and full hookups. The Saddle Mountain BLM area offers free dispersed camping and killer views.
