5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. Other things to note Moonbeams Yurt is situated at the bottom of a 1 acre property, on a large 48sqm decked area. The yurt is 20sqm in size and the composting toilet and shower are within 10 steps from the yurt entrance. The hot water shower is an outdoor shower with a privacy screen. There is NO power at all, but 1 battery powered light is available, and there is a basic gas cooker provided. There is no refrigeration. Parking is at the top of the property and guests will have to walk down a partially sealed path to arrive at the entrance to the yurt, so good mobility is needed. You will need to bring in refrigeration/Eski, lights and basic cooking camp ware. A wheelbarrow can be provided to get gear from car to yurt. A Double bed is provided. It was nice. Up on Goat Mountain, the view of the rolling hills meeting in the valley was lovely. Kids loved the animals and birds. The visit of goats and alpacas to the camp-site was fun for a pet. Sadly the weather turned next day and soaked us, but that's nature. Only an overnighter to test the new camper trailer, so a few extra nights for next time. Happy to go back. Thanks for letting us stay on you property Jane. Great set up.

While $50 p/n seemed a bit steep for no power at first, the cool surroundings, amazing pizzas on Saturday night accompanied by cheap pints of local brew, the lovely staff, animals galore and chance to sample and buy local honey meant it was well worth it.

The instructions were clear, easy to find, very private and a lovely surprise to find a brand new kitchen shower, toilet and laundry facilities to use. Great also if your self sufficient but if your tenting it the facilities are terrific. If travelling with a dog, beware its snake territory and dont forget your fly net like I did Thank you Lindsay for allowing me to stay at your patch of heaven by the Murray river

Authentic farmstay! Very peaceful. Sites are very spread out. Can hardly see anyone. The animals are next level! So many of them and they are all friendly. Definitely the best farmstay in regards to animals interaction, I’ve been too. The owners have 4 dogs. The dogs were my favourite! Beautiful, calm natured pets. Could’ve easily taken them home ❤️
