We are a hobby farm set on 100-acres on the North Dandalup scarp, with a few sheep. You will find kangaroos, echidnas, sometimes emus visiting our property. You can enjoy the great views into the horizon towards the Indian Ocean amidst the tall jarrah and gum trees. Campsites are set in the woodlands, some with views. It’s perfect for people seeking 'quiet' time away, but still near to amenities in the towns around here. You can take walks to experience forest therapy, have a campfire or canoe in the dams during wintertime. There is no power, water or toilet facilities so campers must be completely self-contained. You are expected to clear up and take all rubbish with you. Leave no trace. The terrain is rather hilly, hence a few sites are accessible only by 4WD (Sembawang and Changi). There are some sites that are still accessible with regular cars (Opera 1, 2 or 3; Tampines, Bedok). RVs and small caravans are welcomed. All vehicles have to stay on the paths, and not to make any tracks. The gravel road leading to our property is shared with neighbours who run horses. As such, please drive really slowly here so as not to cause the horses to bolt. During the summer fire season, fires are strictly prohibited! Dogs welcome (on leash).

It's an easily accessible and picturesque private property with approximately 7 acres of forest, flushing toilet, hot outdoor shower, a winter creek, a swimmable spring-fed dam, and an abundance of bird and wildlife, nestled between cattle farms in the heart of the Peel region. There are friendly free-ranging chickens and Guinea fowl, a mischievous mini pig, friendly goats, sheep, and a family dog on site. The owners Michelle, Troy, and Carolyne live and work onsite (this is a working farm). THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU INTEND TO PARTY. The camping area is easily accessed by most vehicles. There is a hot water outdoor shower and toilet available to use and within walking distance of each site. CHILDREN - The dam on the property is currently unfenced and has steep sides when the water line is low, therefore this property is not recommended for those with small and wandering children. We also asked that older children are supervised, so as not to vandalise property, nature, gardens and fire-pits (this has been a problem in the past). Friendly dogs are welcome, however, must be kept on a leash at all times, due to free-ranging chickens, livestock and wildlife on the property. There are no cooking facilities available. Therefore, you will need to be completely self-sufficient including cooker, kettle, esky, etc, and also bringing your own drinking water as the water from the taps comes from our spring-fed dam. We do ask that you follow local fire regulations with no outdoor open flames during fire bans. All rubbish and waste needs to be taken with you. However, Peppa the Pig will always appreciate your veggie scraps. Fires are permitted in designated fire pits during fire season. Anyone found having a fire during FIRE BANS will be reported to authorities and asked to leave the property immediately (we need to use firm words around this, as bushfire destroys homes and endangers lives). Plenty of areas for bushwalking or photography. The property is home to the WA Birds of Prey Rehabilitation and educational centre. The Swan Valley is only a short drive when you can experience local wines and produce. Campers must be either self sufficient with their own camping toilet and take all waste with them on departure when located at the back of the property. Alternatively, at the front of the property, toilets and bins are available. Campfires are only permitted at certain times of the year, please check with your host before lighting a fire. Weekend Trip to Herron Point Farm Stay

We stayed on lakeside camp 3. It is exactly as in the photo. We sat there with drinks both mornings to listen to the life on the lake. So many birds and a pair of Whistling kites living in one of the trees. Paul was a very friendly host. There are about a dozen free range chooks wandering about and they generally just hung out with us. We also wandered down to the wetland area to spot more birdlife. Was a lovely peaceful stay. The camp site is flat and large with a firepit provided during camp fire season. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at site Opera 2 for a total of 3 nights. This site was amongst trees and felt very secluded- exactly what we were looking for. Other sites have views. In the morning and at dusk we saw a couple of Kangaroos bounce by. Lovely spot and Bea was quick to answer queries. Highly recommend

The Tampines site at 100 acre wood is awesome. Stunning view from the top of the scarp, north west facing... so you get a pretty good sunset. It is very private... far away enough from the other sites that you feel alone. Surrounded by beautiful bush. The concrete slab was great too, didnt habe to worry about levelling or putting a mat down. Highly recommended

Where to go

Mandurah, Yunderup & Pinjarra

A camper’s (or glamper’s) dream, there’s no end of things to do in Mandurah, from relaxing around Dolphin Quay to kayaking up the Harvey Estuary to crabbing, hiking, or hitting up the golf course. Accommodation options are just as varied, with everything from Mandurah coastal holiday parks to country chalets and riverfront campsites with jumping pillows. A short drive southwest of Mandurah, both Yunderdup and Pinjarra also offer great campgrounds and relaxed, country-town vibes.

Herron Point, Lake Clifton & Lake Preston

Follow Old Coast Road south from Mandurah and you’ll soon come upon a series of limestone-shored lakes. Running parallel to the coastline, Lake Clifton is probably the best-known, with the funky thrombolite reef bringing visitors from miles around. If you prefer to set up camp around Old Coast Road there are plenty of options, too, including campsites on Lake Preston (suitable for motorhomes, campervans, and camper trailers), and a bush campground in Yalgorup National Park.

Dwellingup

Just over half an hour east of Mandurah, Dwellingup is both the Peel Region and Western Australia’s outdoor adventure capital, with world-class mountain bike tracks, rafting, hiking, and Lane Poole Reserve and the Hotham Valley Railway right on its doorstep. A popular getaway spot, accommodation options range from family-friendly caravan parks to campsites in the national park and luxury hideaways just a short stroll from town.

When to go

A popular destination year-round, Mandurah has plenty to offer, whatever the weather. While summer is the most popular month for campers, who come in hoards to check out the canal Christmas lights and stay for the beaches, it can get a little toasty. If the heat isn’t your thing then spring and autumn are great times to visit—with the flowers and the leaves both putting on seasonal shows in neighboring Dwellingup.
