Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. The local beach is iconic for surfing and swimming, the local creek is a favourite at the inlet for young kids to swim or for canoeists to have somewhere quiet to paddle. Mountain biking is a must in the area, with thousands of tracks available right outside the back door.
If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item!
The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land.
The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne.
No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you.
I also have an option to add a pottery class for you, the cost is $50 a person for a two hour session.

Hi there and welcome to my home, Penzance! I fell in love with this slice of heaven in 2010 and adore every back breaking inch of it. It was an overgrown mess at the time, covered in broken bricks and beer cans. I've tried to keep the bush aspect whilst creating a park-like surround with plenty of grassy space. I have big plans for this land and hope to build a steam museum in another area over the creek. Excitingly, I will also be establishing a blacksmiths forge in that area, which was moved piece by piece from an historic farm at Avoca. Chris is an engineer, antique restorer and artisan working from home.
I offer one site so privacy is assured. Larger groups can be accommodated, please enquire if you'd like to learn more.

Madge and Neil went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay at Afton Park. They were friendly and ensured amenities were clean and well stocked. Sites were lovely under the trees of their property and well distanced from the other sites, so was private. My dog absolutely loved her stay there as well, lots of space for her to explore around the site. Would definitely recommend!

Madge and Neil are fantastic hosts. They were kind and generous throughout our stay. They thought of all the creature comforts whilst camping- like a toilet, sink, running water, fire pit etc. Situated on a very spacious property with plenty of room for the kids. We will definitely be back 😊

Penzance was a great spot to camp. Chris was really accomodating and responsive to messages before we arrived. The bathroom was way more luxury than we are used to when camping! A flushing toilet, sink with running water, hand soap and hand towel were very well received. The campsite itself is really roomy, it easily accommodated a couple tents and a caravan. It is also quite a private spot on the property and there are some shady spots for hanging up a hammock. The firepit is well equipped for cooking over o flame too. Chris gave us a tour of his workshop which was really interesting. We’d happily return.

I loved camping in my van with my two dogs at Afton Park! Madge and Neil were so kind and helpful - nothing was too difficult for them. Literally the only thing I could say a word against was the mosquitoes, but they were only bad for one night and then they vanished! Nothing we couldn't handle 😄 A lovely quiet and peaceful stay, only 10 minutes from the beach. Could not recommend highly enough!

Madges Hipcamp is close to ocean grove/Barwon heads and much of the bellarine. Madge provided clean toilet facilities and a camp kitchen with sink and water, mozzie repellents, cleaning goods. There were rubbish and recycling bins, and fireplaces, one of which was stacked up with wood. The sites are huge and flat with nice shade trees around the outside of the field. There are only four sites to a very large area. Plenty of room to spread out.

We had the best time camping at Penzance Bushland Retreat! Loved having the campsite to ourselves. The flushing toilet was such a luxury. The firepit was perfect and the firewood we added on to our booking was generous. Looking forward to staying again.

This is one of the best Hipcamps I have visited over the last couple of years. A beautiful setting with large amounts of space, a large fire with cooking aids over the fire. Tables and chairs provided. The powder room is second to none and a touch of luxury considering off grid camping. The museum artefacts spread over the property provide a walk into the past. Chris is a very helpful host and maintains the property to a very high standard. Easy access and a small town very close for supplies. Optus coverage is limited which for me was a positive A very peaceful and relaxing location.

Such a peaceful and well set up place. Tables, benches, chairs, a big fire pit and the fanciest toilet I've ever seen at a campsite. Lots of birdlife, wildflowers and many interesting things from days gone by around the property to photograph. It would have been great to stay another night! Really nice secluded, private spot with a ripper toilet and friendly, likeable host. Chris' place is spacious and secluded with some interesting rustic metal antiques placed around the property. There's a couple of very solid tables for storing food stuff and doing your cooking & washing up so don't bother bringing a camp table like we did!

Wow! What a great little camp. We booked here to be close to Sovereign Hill for the kids. It was a lovely little camp for our group of two families. The grass was green, the sun was shining, there was plenty of shade and great facilities around the camp fire, like tables. We loved the rusty relics but a true highlight was the Powder Room. Thanks for having us Chris. We hope to be back one day. Don't hesitate in booking Penzance. One of our favourite campsites this trip.
