Live bait can be sourced at nearby Nullica beach or alternatively, frozen prawn's, pipis or salted pilchards also yield success. Some of the species that call the river home are, Flathead, Bream, Luderick, Whiting, Estuary Pearch, Jewfish, Mullet and Flounder. If you bring your kayaks, canoe or roof top tinny the river is very picturesque with unique photo opportunities and an abundance of wildlife. You can head upstream for a way but if you're feeling up to it, it's about a 2.5-hour paddle (at a slow steady pace) to the mouth of the river where Davidsons whaling station is located, as well as the view across the bay to Eden. If you time it right, you can go and return with the tide. Two kayaks and life jackets are provided with all bookings so that people without their own equipment are able to explore the pristine waterway. There is a large firepit near the river that may be utilized as long as there is no total fire ban in effect. If you have your own firepit that can also be used but there are to be no fires on beach or bare earth. We loved camping here. Perfect for exploring the area and chilling at the same time. It feels more like a rural campsite than a bush camp being a stone’s throw away from the main road. Super friendly and easy going hosts. Respectful owners mindful of our dog’s needs. Enjoyed chatting with both Julie and David. Dunny is exactly that - a dunny! But we didn’t mind. And our pooch loved the place. Stunning views and amazing campfire set up, both for warming up and cooking. So much wood provided, makes the nightly fee very much worth it. Be wary of ticks, we saw several and I got bitten but we were prepared and so wasn’t an issue. A great experience and wonderful hosts!

The site was well maintained and ready. Composting toilet is well lit and very clean. The gate and path to river let us feel extra secluded and really take advantage of the solitude. We loved being able to sit by the fire and watch the kids having fun paddling on the river 😀 This was a great spot that we hope to return to in future.

Beautiful, flat green field perfect for tents, or any kind of camping, clean toilet, good fire place with something you can cook on and a picnic table. She had some firewood already for me to use. Short walk down to pristine , private , river with afew chairs. I can confirm there are definitely platerpus in the river. She acceptes pets , I had my dog and bird with me. There alot of wallies, roos, rabbits ect. So it your dog likes to chase, keep them on a leash. There is little phone coverage, my navman took me to the place down the road but the place is well signed. Trying and fuel up well before you hit the gravel road. But overall a beautiful place to camp 5 stars.

4 nights at Fresh Water Farm _ River Camp.

We stayed for 5 glorious nights in November as the end cap of our East Coast Victoria journey, and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful place than this spot in Kiah, near Eden. If you love privacy and wildlife, this is your heaven. The large, beautiful open grass area was perfect for camping, and with only one other camper visible the whole time, it felt like we had the entire riverbank to ourselves—truly a no shoes needed kind of freedom! The wildlife here is spectacular. We saw deer, majestic eagles, and, of course, the charming wombats doing their nightly rounds, alongside the resident farm cows and chickens. Our dog absolutely adored the safety and freedom this special river spot offered, making it a perfect pet-friendly escape. The fishing is genuinely amazing, but we won't give away all the secrets—you'll have to book and find out for yourself! This is a rare, peaceful find for anyone looking to completely disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. Highly, highly recommend!

Our stay at Kiah Wilderness was wonderful - kids have rated it a 10/10 campsite and we agree! It was lovely swimming in the river and relaxing in Jenny and Arthur’s little slice of paradise. The compost toilet also deserves a mention, wish more campsites had one!

Weekend Trip to Riverview Kiah

Trent has a beautiful spot, he has put a lot of effort in to the camp site. Was able to purchase chicken eggs and Trent greeted us after we settled in for a bit. Caught plenty of fish , walked along the sand dunes when tide was low also gave the kayaks a go. Eden town around the corner which came in super handy. Definitely coming back.

Quick google late one night on our trip home and we found this little gem to pull into. Jodie was super responsive and directions were clear and easy to follow. It was right off the highway with plenty of room to set up and relax. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely amazing camp site and always kept immaculate. Love coming back each time. Can not fault anything on at this site, except for us having to leave. Look forward to returning again soon.
