Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for. Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. Campfires are allowed, BYO firewood or campers can collect fallen timber from the property.

The Fern Glade

Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places. And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant & rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. Bring the family and friends for a secluded and private wilderness experience surrounded by 60 acres of forest. This totally separate wilderness camping paddock sits within our organic permaculture farm property where we grow fruits, veggies, nuts and flowers. Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping 2 acre paddock all to yourself - that's right - we are offering only one site listing (for you and up to 29 guests) situated about 1 km from the main farm house and completely surrounded by forest. A genuine wilderness experience with forest (tree) bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group very close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab a coffee or pizza in nearby Gembrook and checkout some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.

Millers Farm "The Hills are alive"

We welcome self-contained campers to enjoy the laid-back serenity of our farm stay setting. The property is situated adjacent to the State forest, so you'll have nature at your doorstep, with bush walks and an abundance of wildlife, not to mention meeting the local resident animals; Our two horses, two Highland cows, many chickens, guinea pigs and of course, Zeik, our lovable Goat! We have plenty of green, open space, for you to set up. We also have an undercover area to sit, with a kettle, toaster, and power point to charge phones which you are welcome to use. Please Note: There is a slight undulation in much of the cleared area, so some campers/caravans may require leveling. If you require a flat area, please message us to see if we have one available. There are no amenities on the property so you will need to be self-sufficient (camp toilet, shower and cooking appliances). Any rubbish is to be taken home. Public holidays/Long weekends have a minimum nightly stay, please message us for any queries. Please note, Millers Farm is a place for travelers who are after a peaceful, relaxing camping experience. It is not a place for rowdy groups. We love all animals including Dogs, but unfortunately, due to our roaming animals, we cannot entertain pets anymore. Long periods of wet weather may affect some of the camping areas. Therefore, we recommend keeping an eye on the weather report close to your stay and if you have any concerns, please touch base with us! OUR LOCATION: Neerim South is located in the southern foothills of the Great Dividing Range, there is so much to see and do nearby, including Neerim South Brewery, Toronga Water Falls, walking trails, the famous Noojee Pub, Mt Baw Baw tourist drive, Blue rock Lake which is great for fishing and swimming, there's old historical trestle bridges, Walhalla Mining town and lots more.
