A beautiful and peaceful spot. Susan was a fantastic host, thoughtful, kind and responsive. I was even gifted some homemade chilli jam and eggs. I spent 2 nights here just cooking on the fire, watching the wildlife by the pond including a wide variety of bird life and a fox. The set up has everything you need- camp toilet, mud kitchen, table and chairs and even a hut to have shelter in the rain. Plenty of fallen kindling to be collected if needed. Will return to explore some of the walking tracks. So nice to be able to have a solo getaway and not have to share the campsite with anyone, but feel totally safe. Just a short drive into town. Highly recommend.

Whispering Gums is such a lovely campsite! Great facilities, there is a camp kitchen and hut in case you need to get out of the elements. Sue and Chris are amazing hosts and we were lucky to meet Sue's horse Amy (and Banjo and the 3 cows)
Having the whole site to yourself makes it a wonderful experience and made it super easy for our dogs. Would highly recommend.

We had a great weekend away at Whispering Gums. Host Sue was lovely and really helpful - she came to our rescue when we had a camper trailer malfunction and made the stay fantastic.
Great site, we loved morning coffee overlooking the dam, and the campfire and mud kitchen were useful. The portaloo was very handy and Sue was quick and efficient with the changeover when needed.
It was lovely to meet Amy the horse and have a walk over the beautiful property to admire the cows and the view.
Thanks for the enjoyable stay Sue, we hope to be back!

Host Sue, was extremely kind and generous. The love she has for her place shows. As a group of 3 families we felt very welcomed and had everything we needed.
The addition of the toilet set up (and change overs) were greatly appreciated with kids in tow.
We loved the back drop of rolling hills and the space for the dogs to run around.
Highlight for the kids was definitely getting to see and ride Amy, the horse. Just magical.

Had a wonderful time and Chris and Susan’s property, they are very welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. Susan even brought her horse down which was lovely. This place is great for all types of groups. Would definitely recommend and we will come back in the near future

Such a lovely campground; it's well maintained, the amenities are great and it was lovely to get away from the city lights and see the stars.
It was a great first camp for our pup who loved the freedom of being off leash, exploring and watching the animals.
Cannot thank Sue, Banjo and Chris enough for this great experience.

Our weekend at Whispering Gums was more perfect than we could have ever imagined. Surrounded by rolling green hills and a tranquil billabong, the campsite is utterly stunning, no matter which direction you set up. The hosts, Sue and Chris are so accomodating and eager to share their love for the property and surrounding areas with you. When they learnt that I am a horse girl that relocated to the city for work, Sue made an effort to bring her gorgeous stock horse, Amy, to say good morning and to give me a chance to have horse cuddles with my morning coffee - which absolutely made my whole trip ✨. We were all super excited to meet the very handsome Banjo (a very funny, curious Blue Heeler pup) and the three head of Lowline Angus cattle on the property. The set up is perfect and so deliberately thought out. The little hut (complete with a dining table, books, a list of local things to do and extra cooking equipment), outdoor kitchen (with access to 40l of potable water) and outhouse (with and incredibly clean portable camp toilets) makes the campsite a great choice for first-time and experienced campers alike. We couldn’t be more grateful for our mini escape to Whispering Gums, and are already looking forward to our next trip! Make sure to grab some of Chris and Sue’s chilli jam - it is absolutely incredible and an amazing souvenir to head home with to make your trip last just that little bit longer 🌶️💖

Sues property was absolutely incredible! We will 110% be back to camp there! Everything was well maintained, it felt like camping in the middle of no where with a touch of luxury, but only a stones throw away from the pub.
Great fire pit, cabin/hut to use with table and chairs, pots and pans and other bits and bobs. Picnic table and sink was great and used a lot!
And the toilet was great! Easy to use and far enough away to not feel too close to camp, but not too far to get too.
Fire pit next to the lake was serene, the birds and wildlife came to life after 5pm.
Sue was so lovely, brought us some firewood and made sure we had everything we needed and was very communicative.
Absolutely loved it!

We had an amazing time camping at Susan and Chris’s beautiful property! Our group of 8, most of whom were first time campers, absolutely loved the experience. Susan and Chris were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, which made it even more enjoyable. The facilities and amenities were excellent and made everything so comfortable. The whole setup was perfect for both seasoned campers and beginners. We’d definitely pitch our tents here again. Highly recommend this spot especially for anyone new to camping!

A lovely campsite amongst lush farmlands. It was nice to wake up to the sounds of the country (such as cows, roosters and kookaburras). A beautiful campsite on the dam. A few flat areas for tent camping, but vehicles and camper vans will likely require levelling. A great campsite overall, we hope to come back one day! Thank you to Sue and Chris for being such great and welcoming hosts!

Perfect, tranquil, picturesque spot to relax and unwind. All the facilities you need, great for dogs, an easy drive from Melbourne, a few minutes from the town of Neerim South and 20 minutes from the amazing Noojee Pub. Heaps of great bush walks nearby too. Hosts Sue, Chris and Banjo (their dog) made us feel very welcome and were super helpful with recommendations. Can’t wait to go back one day!

A really lovely spot not far from Melbourne with super friendly hosts. Fantastic amenities - the site had a cabin, an outdoor kitchen set up and a great fire pit. The dam is not suitable for swimming and it's important to note that the paddock where tents/Caravans set up is not particularly flat. We set up two camper trailers and two tents ok (albeit on a minor slope).
