Should you wish to make it an even deeper experience, you could book in for a reiki session with a qualified and accredited Reiki Master (with or without the animals assisting!) or an Equine Assisted Transformation session... this is the perfect location for those who are energy sensitive and who wish to deepen their connection with the land, nature and themselves, or who feel the need for some healing or clearing work.
If you wish, you may pre-order a basket filled with a selection of local produce and goodies for your stay (please note that we require 48 hours notice on some basket selections)

Less than 3 hours drive from Melbourne, the property is conveniently located within minutes of local shops and Chiltern- Mount Pilot National Park, 10 minutes from the popular town of Rutherglen, 20 minutes from the Murray River, Beechworth and Corowa, 25 minutes from Wangaratta and Albury-Wodonga, 40 minutes from Mount Buffalo… this is a popular location to strike out into the high country from and is very popular with cyclists, hikers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Hiking, cycling, nature watching, birdwatching, visiting local sites to see Aboriginal Art, panning for gold at local rivers, berry picking at nearby farms, trail riding… there is so much to do and explore in the local area!
Or just come to relax, recharge your batteries and spend some time quality time reconnecting with yourself and/or loved ones
Please note:
* At this stage, you will need to be fully self contained with your own cooking facilities, toilet, shower and potable water for most of the sites.
*There will be some areas that you cannot go on the property due to animals being housed there, and electric fencing is used throughout the property. So please read and follow the signs, stick to the areas designated for public use, always use the gates (and if you open a gate, please close it behind you) and be mindful of the fences. If in doubt, DON’T touch the fence! Or if you do, make sure someone is videoing it and please post it on the Facebook page!!
NB- If you would like to explore, then please book a farm tour with us to see the whole property and experience meeting the animals up close and personal.
* Campfires in the designated fire pits are welcome, but ARE NOT permitted on days of high fire risk or Total Fire Ban days. You may collect twigs and branches from the ground, but please don’t break or cut branches off trees. Bags of pre-cut wood are available to purchase as an extra or upon request. Please ensure that all fires are completely out before leaving them unattended.
* While we welcome your furry family members, we do require them to be well behaved and on a lead at all times. We have a zero tolerance policy for dogs chasing farm animals or being excessively disruptive, and any such behaviour will result in you forfeiting your payment and being asked to leave immediately. You are welcome to walk your dog on lead throughout the designated public areas on the property and along the roadside and surrounding trails. If you wish to visit local areas where dogs can’t be taken, you can book your furry friend in to be dog-sat here on the property while you go out exploring.
* As this is a farm, and is surrounded by other farms, there may be farm noises like dogs barking, sheep baa-ing , cows moo-ing, horses neighing, Guinea fowl squawking, and/or Belle the Needy Noisy Nubian Dairy Goat calling for her feed (or rug if it’s cold!) We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers.
But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience)
* And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. TIA for your understanding

Ashlan is a working farm, and we also have an array of wildlife visiting. The property is a birdwatcher's delight, with a variety of species making the property home. If you like star gazing, you have found the right spot. We have no light pollution, so its the perfect place to take advantage of seeing the stars above.
Unfortunately, as we are a working farm, the property is not pet friendly nor do we offer any animal experiences., however you may be lucky enough to see our friendly (and crazy goats). They do like a pat and love apples and mandarins.
The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six guests. Kitchen, wifi, laundry and BBQ.
All guests will need to supply car registration details. This will give you access to the property. There is CCTV located at the front of the property and going up the driveway.
We live onsite (in a separate house) if you need any assistance.
You will need to bring your own supplies (food and drink) as the closest shop is 20 mins away. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road.

From the deck you may spend the morning watching for platypus. There are over 100 species of birds, including eagles, swans and pelicans. Native wildlife such as echidnas and kangaroos are regular visitors. A short walk along the bank of Lake Moodemere and the vineyard leads to the cellar door where guests may enjoy a relaxed lunch and private wine tasting. At dusk light up the fire pit and experience the spectacular sunset over Lake Moodemere.
A walk around Lake Moodemere, and along the Murray River will take around two hours and provide many memorable, unique, and beautiful sights. The track is also suitable for cyclists and horses. Lake Moodemere Estate is a working vineyard and farm. The changing seasons offers opportunities to get involved, such as grape picking or experiencing the shearing shed in action.

* At this stage, you will need to be fully self contained with your own cooking facilities, toilet, shower and potable water for most of the sites.

You may collect twigs and branches from the ground, but please don’t break or cut branches off trees. Bags of pre-cut wood are available to purchase as an extra or upon request. Please ensure that all fires are completely out before leaving them unattended.
* While we welcome your furry family members, we do require them to be well behaved and on a lead at all times. We have a zero tolerance policy for dogs chasing farm animals or being excessively disruptive, and any such behaviour will result in you forfeiting your payment and being asked to leave immediately. You are welcome to walk your dog on lead throughout the designated public areas on the property and along the roadside and surrounding trails. If you wish to visit local areas where dogs can’t be taken, you can book your furry friend in to be dog-sat here on the property while you go out exploring.
* As this is a farm, and is surrounded by other farms, there may be farm noises like dogs barking, sheep baa-ing , cows moo-ing, horses neighing, Guinea fowl squawking, and/or Belle the Needy Noisy Nubian Dairy Goat calling for her feed (or rug if it’s cold!) We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers.
But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience)
* And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. TIA for your understanding

If you like star gazing, you have found the right spot. We have no light pollution, so its the perfect place to take advantage of seeing the stars above.
Unfortunately, as we are a working farm, the property is not pet friendly nor do we offer any animal experiences., however you may be lucky enough to see our friendly (and crazy goats). They do like a pat and love apples and mandarins.
The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six guests. Kitchen, wifi, laundry and BBQ.
All guests will need to supply car registration details. This will give you access to the property. There is CCTV located at the front of the property and going up the driveway.
We live onsite (in a separate house) if you need any assistance.
You will need to bring your own supplies (food and drink) as the closest shop is 20 mins away. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road.

A full size loft bedroom with queen size bed and work space. A fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. A cosy lounge area with two and three seat sofas. There is also a sleeping area in the lounge with a Murphy Bed, hidden by day and turns into a comfy queen size bed at night. The third bedroom with a king single and a single bed, TV, hanging space and shoe storage.
Enjoy a full breakfast each morning from the fully stocked fridge including eggs, bacon, milk and butter or select from corn flakes, muesli, porridge and a generous bowl of fresh fruit. Quality linen, pure wool blankets, towels and bath sheets are provided along with shampoo, conditioner, soap and fluffy bath robes.
On arrival you will be welcomed with a bottle of locally produced wine and chocolates.

The Moodemere Lake House is uniquely Australian and fully self contained. Situated in the midst of picturesque Lake Moodemere Estate, the Moodemere Lake House offers the ultimate in wine destinations. The broad deck and living area provide absolute views of Lake Moodemere and State Reserve, while the bedroom faces the extensive vineyard. There is only one guest house so privacy is guaranteed. (Sorry, due to the very close proximity to the Moodemere Reserve pets are not permitted.)
Breakfast provisions with estate grown and made preserves may be delivered to your Lake House. When in season, a large bowl of fresh oranges from our century old orchard is provided. The Lake House is situated 7km’s from Rutherglen, and nestled in the midst of number of wineries and attractions. At least six wineries may be easily accessed by foot, bicycle, or horse, along the walking, trail and bike path that runs along our vineyard and the myriad of pretty country lanes. Golfers are spoilt for choice with three championship golf courses within a 30 minute radius.
Despite all the region has to offer, guests may not want to leave the Moodemere Lake House. The day can be whiled away right on your doorstep. From the deck you may spend the morning watching for platypus. There are over 100 species of birds, including eagles, swans and pelicans. Native wildlife such as echidnas and kangaroos are regular visitors. A short walk along the bank of Lake Moodemere and the vineyard leads to the cellar door where guests may enjoy a relaxed lunch and private wine tasting. At dusk light up the fire pit and experience the spectacular sunset over Lake Moodemere.
A walk around Lake Moodemere, and along the Murray River will take around two hours and provide many memorable, unique, and beautiful sights. The track is also suitable for cyclists and horses. Lake Moodemere Estate is a working vineyard and farm. The changing seasons offers opportunities to get involved, such as grape picking or experiencing the shearing shed in action.

We had a wonderful stay at Carol‘s and Peter‘s lovely farm! Thank you so much for everything!
The Campsite 1 was very large and offered both sunny spots and plenty of shade. Well-equipped Camp Kitchen and good Toilet/Shower.
The place was very peaceful, we loved the farm animals and listened to the beautiful singing of the birds all day long. After nightfall we were lucky enough to see the Rakali!
The hosts are very friendly and helpful people.
We highly recommend this place!

We arrived on a 45 degree day, out of a car with no AC and windows up, thinking we'd be spending the day swimming in their creek and camping in the hot shade.
The creek is 30 cm deep and full of sticks and leaches - swims were not to be. But everything else far exceeded expectations. They were so generous and kind, welcoming us into their home and air conditioning, sitting with us for chats and painting watercolours in the garden, showing us their projects and animals. The farm is a delight. So picturesque.
They are artistic souls who seem to host out of a passion for connection, community and generosity in sharing their beautiful haven, rather than to make some cash.
We could have been happy their for days.

We loved our stay! Carole and Peter are so lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were greeted with a tour of the farm, fresh eggs and home grown veges. Peter took us out to see the stars one night too. The river site is picturesque and very relaxing. There were so many different and animals to look at and photograph. We also explored the local region and made trips to Benalla, Wangaratta and Glenrowan. If you want to get away from it all and relax, then this is a great place for you! 😊

We loved our stay here ! We were treated warmly by Peter, and had a lot of room to set up our camp. Great access to toilets/showers/kitchen, and enjoyed the lovely site. Peter kindly showed us around the property, and we were able to feed the cow and sheep, and see the many other animals on their property. If you are looking for a farm stay, I would highly recommend !!!

Carole and Peter are wonderful hosts. We stayed on site 2, which is elevated above the Broken Creek. This site is best for people towing a caravan. Site one would be a challenge to get into for people towing vans as it is down behind the homestead, by the broken creek. The amenities on the property were awesome (toilet, shower, washing machine).
This is our 4th Hipcamp stay, and we weren’t disappointed.
Highlights: The serenity, the farm animals, access to the Broken Creek, centrally located: 15 minutes to Benella, an hours drive to other regional centres.
