"Window to the Wetlands" campsite is located on the outskirts of Kyabram, on 4 acres opposite the Kyabram Fauna Park Lakes.
The site provides a great experience for nature enthusiasts and families alike. It is a unique experience for lots of reasons;
Natural birdlife experience: Relax under the flight path and observe 100’s of Ibis, at dusk and dawn. (Accompanied by flying foxes in the Summer/Spring). Campers can access an elevated platform to sit and observe habitat views of various native waterbirds in the wetlands.
Walking access (600m) to entry of Kyabram Fauna Park (Zoos Victoria). Enabling multiple visits at differing times throughout the day.
Lots of activities on your doorstop, as the campground is nestled between the Fauna Park Lakes, Grey Box Reserve and Ern Miles Reserve. Offering a unique opportunity to enjoy various walking trails, spotting 100's of native bird species. The town walking/cycle path is at your front gate, so bring your bikes/scooters. Or pack the clubs to enjoy a round at the picturesque 18-hole, Par 3 Parkland Golf Course.
Starry Nights: Enjoy vast and unobstructed views of the magnificent night sky, whilst enjoying the simplicity of nature around the communal campfire.
We have 7 large, grassed campsites (22m x 15m) to accommodate all types of caravans. RV's , tents and camping vehicles.

A Country Shot coffee van will be back every morning, and TIAMO—Twin Flame will return for our Saturday Night Pizza Night. Plus, the Easter Bunny will once again join us for the Sunday morning Easter Egg Hunt! Portable toilets will be located across the property for campers' convenience. Campers with their own toilet facilities need to ensure all toilet waste is to be taken off the property.
Somerville Park is a 500acre property at Fosterville, 20mins from Bendigo. There are a variety of campsites suitable for self-contained guests who have their own toilet/shower facilities and drinking water. We also have 2 newly developed powered sites for your convenience. Please note, all toilet waste is strictly to be taken off the property. Campfires are permitted in provided fire-pits or your own portable metal fire-pit out of fire restriction times and feel free to bring your furry friends, making sure they're leashed at all times. Some sites also provide chairs and table settings for your convenience.
The farm is completely surrounded by the Wellsford state forest which offers bush walking and many tracks for bike riding. Mt Sugarloaf which is situated south of the property provides a great hike. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets create beautiful reflections on the water in the numerous dams on the property. Rainfall can restrict access to some sites on the property.
The city of Bendigo is 25mins drive. Epsom is a 15min drive where you will find a shopping centre which includes a petrol station, Woollies, Pizza, Chemist Warehouse, Aldi, Brumbys Bakery, Reject Shop, Fish and Chips and BWS. Lake Eppalock is a 25min drive where you can engage in water sport activities. The Campaspe River is 10mins away.
The farm is very quiet and restful with the sounds of abundant native bird life and provides great subjects and scenery for the photographic enthusiast. Loud, party groups with music at high volume are not permitted. Chainsaws and motorbikes are also not permitted.

Great communication prior to our trip for directions and how to find a great spot.
Daily updates from Prue and Steve about fire bans.
The area and views are amazing and all of the camp spots we saw were flat and lots of trees around if you need a bit of extra shelter. Waranga Basin is really nice, lovely water for miles!
Only a few minutes to Rushworth if you need anything too.

Beautiful and peaceful. I loved setting up at the water for a weekend of swimming and relaxing. I loved the kangaroos of the morning and evening. Best part we were 5 min from home and got to experience a beautiful part of Waranga Shores.

Absolutely wonderful hosts Bec and her partner made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived
They have made wonderful improvements the site were very good and unfortunately it was very hot 🔥 luckily we had power they turned on the sprinklers to give some creature comforts and settle the dust

Nice camping spot. Lots of green grass which was good for our tents. Handy use of a kitchen with a BBQ and fridge, as well as hot showers. Right next to the Kyabram Fauna Park and also the local pool. Close drive to Echuca. Two friendly horses and lots of birds. Friendly/helpful hosts. Recommended!

Absolutely loved our stay at this camp! 🏕️ The facilities were top-notch, and the grounds were so peaceful. Perfect spot for a chill weekend away from the city. The camp kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to whip up a mean meal, and the ablution blocks are super clean. If any one of you is looking for a nice place to spent your time this’ll probably be the one. The host Carmel is super cool and welcoming Would definitely come back 😊

Really good private camping area by some trees and a dam. Decent facilities with drinking water and a portable toilet available. A firepit with seating and picnic table compliment the space. Facilities were clean and tidy, and well looked after. This time, I camped alone, but would be so much fun with a small group, especially in the cooler months where you can use the firepit area. Peter and Carmel were very welcoming and the amenities far exceeded our expectations. Nice and close to the town centre, wildfire reserves and Fauna Park. Our children particularly enjoyed the company of the horses and guinea fowl.

This would have been a great stay if the weather was not as hot as it was. With 42 deg days predicted over three days we just struggled with the heat and had to leave early.
There is plenty of space if you free camp and I would think it would be a great place to stay in Autumn winter time, the host was really friendly and accomodating. I would have no hesitation in recommending Somerville Park.

Along the Murray River
The Murray River winds its way along the border of Victoria and New South Wales, affording plenty of options for boating, fishing, and bushwalking. Once you’ve explored the twin towns of Echuca-Moama, on opposite banks of the Murray River, set out to explore the riverside and pitch your tent or park your motorhome at one of the beach camping areas.
Barmah Lakes
A 45-minute drive northeast of Echuca, Barmah National Park sits on the shores of Barmah Lake, where you can hike through River Red Gum forests, fish for Murray Cod, and paddle along the scenic creeks. Bring your boat or canoe to explore Barmah Lake or neighbouring Moira Lake, and take your pick of several lakeside camping areas.
Murray Valley National Park
The Murray River winds its way north into the River Red Gum forests and Riverina wetlands of the Murray Valley National Park. Bushwalking, bird-watching, and paddling are the main pastimes in the park, and there are several campgrounds with tent, motorhome, and caravan sites available.
When to go
Temperatures soar in Echuca during the summer months, and the milder spring and autumn months provide more pleasant weather for river cruises and other outdoor activities. The liveliest time to visit is during one of Echuca’s annual events, such as the Southern 80 waterski festival and the Riverboats Music Festival, both in February.
