Our 34-acre property is nestled on the edge of the ancient Tarkine rainforest on the north west coast of Tasmania (approx 1 hour 15 min west of Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania).
At La Bena, you will find a relaxing and quiet place to park and camp, that will give you easy access to our wild surroundings.
On the property, we have a short but enchanting bush walk to our local creek (great place for a picnic!) that will take you past some giant man ferns, myrtles, celery top pines, pepper berries, and an assortment of gums and native currents.
From 4WD tracks to pristine beaches, we are within a 30-minute drive of a huge range of activities and adventures so numerous options for day trips on your doorstep. Famous Boat Harbour Beach is only a short 15-minute drive away and just beyond that is Sisters Beach which has some great coves and hikes (Anniversary Bay) into Rocky Cape National Park that will take you along the coast to further secluded beaches and some sacred Aboriginal sites.
If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out).
The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. We stayed in area 1, nice and peaceful and secure location. 3 spots to choose from that had been cut level so you can easily set up your camper on. We were impressed how professionally the camp areas had been set up. Lots of water areas and other activities for children. Hosts were very welcoming, good location to stay if you enter 'Gone Nuts Race'

We loved our stay at Englis River camping thank you Aaron and Amanda for sharing a tranquil and peaceful part of Tassie.This campsite has everything for the young at heart. Families and the grey nomad.Most definitely need to be self contained but only 9 minutes into Wynyard for dump point and drinking water.Thank you for a beautiful couple of days for my hubbies and I and our fur baby.

Nice flat land, freshly mowed.
Need to get in early to get river site.
When we got there there was plenty of river sites but the people that were there would not let us put our van there as they had friends coming later that night wanted it (4 sites more) I though first in gets sites but didn’t want to argue as they would have made our stay horrid.

Beautiful spot with well marked walking trails. Plenty of room so didn't even need to unhitch the van. Good signage re. Using 4 low to come down the road (and back up again in the morning). Excellent 👌

We absolutely loved our stay and were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves. Sites were not level but manageable. View was amazing looking out at the Franklyn rivulet. Close to Yorktown and Narawntapu National Park for day trip. Great communication from Sarah, highly recommend for a quiet relaxing stay.

Beautiful location. The river is amazing to swim in. Convenient firepots provided too. Will definitely be back!
P.S. the road needs a LOT of work! There are so many pot holes - makes for a very rough trip up ammnd down the steep hill with a caravan
