The Little Garden Farm is a small farm with a private and exclusive Campsite - The Woodlander. The Little Garden Farm is a 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we began improving in 2023. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter.
The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please).
The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips!
Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

We also have a few of the famous white kangaroos, plus lots of smaller wallabies.
There are good trails for hikes and mountain biking at the Mount Midway Forest Reserve and Mount Bruny Forest Reserve. Don't miss out on the Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour - built in 1836, it's the only heritage listed lighthouse open for tours.

We are also surrounded by both Mt Field and South West National Parks as well as the Styx and Florentine valleys, home to some of Australia's tallest trees. Enjoy any number of activities including bushwalking, trout fishing, kayaking or simply just taking in the stunning views.
We are offering self contained caravan accommodation as well as a private camp site for up to 2 vehicles. Campers must have their own amenities if staying at the campground, as there is no shower or toilet facilities. Nearest toilet and dump station is 1km away in the Maydena township. There are only basic supplies to be had at the post office, open Mon to Fri, so get all major supplies before arrival. There is a cafe and restaurant option as well.
We are pet friendly however all pets must be kept under control to keep the wildlife safe.
Campfires are permitted in our allocated fireplace except on days of total fire ban. Bring your own firewood or prebook a wheelbarrow full.
Come and relax after your day of adventuring and enjoy the tranquillity of this ideal location.

What a beautiful spot, peaceful, wildlife everywhere. A well built little shack for poor weather and a very civilised composting toilet were very welcome. Check in was smooth with excellent communication from the host. 10/10 would recommend.

It's amazing the difference a few thoughtful fixtures can make to the comfort and ease of a camping experience. Loved this site, feels remote but nearby to lots of places and a great base to explore the island. Rachel was a helpful and quick communicator.

Maree and Andy are a very friendly couple who have a beautiful, well maintained campsite, with a very picturesque outlook. It’s very private, as you are the only campers. A hammock and fireplace have also been provided. Printed and verbal local information was well received. Lovely to see lots of wallabies on the property. The walk around the Three Falls Circuit is a must. On another day drive to Lake Dobson and walk the circuit around this beautiful lake. Heaps of Alpine flowers and other stunning vegetation. When driving back a short walk on the Moorland Mosaic boardwalk names each flowering shrub and bush. The Twisted Sister tree is another very interesting walk whilst staying here. Thanks so much, Maree and Andy, for a very enjoyable stay.

I stayed two nights at Nature’s Edge Maydena and really enjoyed it. Maree and Andrew were friendly, welcoming, and gave great local tips on things to see and do. Their directions to the property were clear and easy to follow.
The campsite sits in a beautiful spot right beside the dam — quiet, relaxing, and a great place to unwind. The fire pit and chairs were a nice touch if you wanted to use them.
I’d happily stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

The Woodlander is beautifully set up with a composting dunny and a small hut that we could retreat into on a rainy day. Also has ability to have an outdoor fire. Rachel made us cookies which were welcomed whilst hiking. The native forest u are surrounded in is magical and personally we felt the whole experience a wonderful chance to unplug and enjoy the liberating feeling of being free from technology and the outside world. It is also very accessible to everywhere in Bruny including the famous Bruny Baker just down the road.

We loved our stay on Judy's hipcamp.
It was lovely and sheltered with little views of the bay.
Lovely Bush setting, peaceful and it is a great bonus to have firewood supplied.
My kids loved the quarry area up the back to play cricket.
Highly recommend for a private area for your family or with friends too.
(If you're a tent camper just bring an ample amount of tent pegs, few old rocks that you may hit😊)

We loved it here so much! SO secluded and quiet, a real sanctury amongst the trees and wildlife. The drop toilet was very clean and nicer than most, and the little hut is a great option for having some shelter. Would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of wilderness!

Photos make it look like private waterfront but it’s a short walk down the driveway and over the road. Very quiet road.
