Sounds Rivulet Campsite

Sounds Rivulet is a private bush campsite at Murdunna for people to enjoy while visiting the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas. Campers can expect to have the entire site to themselves, shared with only the local wildlife. Only one group can book the site at a time. Sounds Rivulet is a small freshwater stream that runs all year round and is less than 100 meters from the campsite. Sounds Rivulet is pet friendly and campfires are allowed in the designated area on suitable days, not on total fire ban days. Please check the TAS Fire website for updates on fire bans. The campground has easy access for large vehicles with a turning circle, suitable for people with two-wheel drive cars, large cars towing caravans and boats, not for very large caravans ( a guest found it too challenging to get their car plus 9 meter caravan into the site) . There is a composting toilet for campers to use, please bring your own loo paper. There are also public toilets located 2km away, near the Murdunna shop which stocks a small range of groceries, supplies, and fuel. There is also a jetty and boat ramp at Murdunna. The campsite is centrally located and provides a perfect base to explore the natural beauty the surrounding area offers. A five-minute drive south will bring you to amazing views over the Tasman sea cliffs and the Cubed Coffee Van at Pirates Bay Lookout. A further two minutes south will take you to Eaglehawk Neck Beach. Dunalley Bay is a five-minute drive north and a perfect place to watch the sunset over the Bay. The Tasman Peninsula is home to world-class fishing and hiking, there are also a range of surf breaks for all abilities and a sheltered beach a short drive from the camp at Sommers Bay. Cluny Lagoon

Take the opportunity to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van by the yurt. You can lay back and star gaze the myriad of stars, and even take a jump off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores. Take the opportunity to use as a base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. The yurt has been there for about 14 years and we have hosted many different groups such as rowing events, parties with bands, bike riding groups and horse riding, amongst other enjoyable activities. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. I will consider opening more sites only for single groups on application.

Arrive here using Sealink Bruny Island ferry. and take the Blinkbonny Rd Turn off traveling for approx 500m from the corner. The campsite is best suited to self-contained 4WD campers who must bring their own toilet/shower facilities, drinking water and supplies. Pets on leashes are welcome. Take a stroll down to the beach and have a swim in the turquoise coloured water at Little Taylor Bay, or explore the bush and look for spotted par-ado, swift parrot, sea and nesting pair of wedge tail eagles, hawks, plovers, honey eaters, wrens, herons, brone wing pigeons just to name some of the birds. We also have a few of the famous white kangaroos, plus lots of smaller wallabies. There are good trails for hikes and mountain biking at the Mount Midway Forest Reserve and Mount Bruny Forest Reserve. Don't miss out on the Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour - built in 1836, it's the only heritage listed lighthouse open for tours. Please stay within the property boundaries as shown, there is no access to Daniels Bay.

The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . Limit phone coverage but still enough to call/text Contained campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood for sale for a small fee (see Extras). IMPORTANT : Any guest that wish to fish the Craigbourne Dam will be asked to purchase a angling license for the duration of their stay . Thanks

Sounds Rivulet Campsite

Sounds Rivulet is a private bush campsite at Murdunna for people to enjoy while visiting the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas. Campers can expect to have the entire site to themselves, shared with only the local wildlife. Only one group can book the site at a time. Sounds Rivulet is a small freshwater stream that runs all year round and is less than 100 meters from the campsite. Sounds Rivulet is pet friendly and campfires are allowed in the designated area on suitable days, not on total fire ban days. Please check the TAS Fire website for updates on fire bans. The campground has easy access for large vehicles with a turning circle, suitable for people with two-wheel drive cars, large cars towing caravans and boats, not for very large caravans ( a guest found it too challenging to get their car plus 9 meter caravan into the site) . There is a composting toilet for campers to use, please bring your own loo paper. There are also public toilets located 2km away, near the Murdunna shop which stocks a small range of groceries, supplies, and fuel. There is also a jetty and boat ramp at Murdunna. The campsite is centrally located and provides a perfect base to explore the natural beauty the surrounding area offers. A five-minute drive south will bring you to amazing views over the Tasman sea cliffs and the Cubed Coffee Van at Pirates Bay Lookout. A further two minutes south will take you to Eaglehawk Neck Beach. Dunalley Bay is a five-minute drive north and a perfect place to watch the sunset over the Bay. The Tasman Peninsula is home to world-class fishing and hiking, there are also a range of surf breaks for all abilities and a sheltered beach a short drive from the camp at Sommers Bay. Kids under 12 stay free!

Ryelands Farm & Vineyard

**Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Pop up your tent or caravan by the rustic pickers hut shelter, on a private paddock within our farm, located right near the Huon River and just a stone's throw from Cygnet. You'll discover 100 acres to walk, close encounters with sheep and cattle, and no doubt our Tilly dog will visit for a hello and a pat. Hence, we have additional electric fences if animals are close to the camping area. Take in a great therapeutic cool morning swim in the river, and beach combing along the driftwood shore is fun to do. Our dusk and night skies in the valley are truly magic. Watch the colours on the hills, mountains, and water change in front of your eyes, so pour a local wine, plate up a Grazing platter or Farmers Breakie basket and seat yourself on a good stump or camp chair and enjoy. (or platters and baskets are subject to availability and ordered in advance) Choices for day trips and activities are boundless as in all directions you can visit many National Parks, waterfalls, beach coasts, and rivers. We offer a pickers hut rustic shelter, camp toilet, picnic table, and bench along with a fire pit. (to be used in respect to fire bans). Firewood is available to purchase in advance. Please remember to bring your own fresh water to drink. We're animal-friendly, so bring along your four-legged friend so long as they're controlled, and on a lead at night. SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS. Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Port Arthur historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through the 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained).
