Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here. It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay. EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want. The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like. This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too. Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals. This is unserviced, self-contained camping suitable for tents, campervans and small off-grid RVs. Stays of up to 29 nights per booking are welcome. There are several open areas among the trees where you can set up. The property has walking tracks, forest clearings and a seasonal dam. You are welcome to explore respectfully and enjoy the natural setting at your own pace. Important Information (Read Before Booking): Self-contained camping only. No toilets, showers, rubbish disposal or drinking water are provided. Campers must bring their own toilet and remove all waste from the property. The nearest public dump point is located at: RV Water and Elsan Point 77 Station Road, St Leonards TAS 7250 (Approximately 17 minutes by road.) Fires permitted in suitable weather conditions and within local safety requirements. Pets allowed if kept under control at all times. Access is via gravel road. Some areas may require a 4WD in wet weather. Convenient to the Tasman Highway, yet quiet, private and surrounded by bushland.

Our property is located at the foot of Mount Arthur, 30 minutes from Launceston, Tasmania. The 52 acre property is half pasture and half forest and separated by the Patersonia rivulet that runs through the middle. The campsite is located in a gorgeous pine forest in a clearing with access to the river being a two minute walk down a hill. You can enjoy fishing in the river on site and mountain walks on Mount Arthur. To camp on our property you need to be fully self contained and take all waste with you.

The famous Rustic Bakehouse and Ringwood Hotel are just down the road. Dog friendly. You'll need be self-contained with own amenities. Guests must be over 18 and must be in a self-contained vehicle. No tents. Cressy is Tasmania's only 'troutified' township as the local area is a mecca for fly fishing. Located 34 km south west of Launceston, Cressy is a small, attractive, and historically significant town which came into existence in the 1850s to service the surrounding wheat farms. Very nice back yard hidden from the street. Views of the mountains.
