Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter.
Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby.
A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful!
Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat.
Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in.
We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out.
Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp.
Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though).

This place has river flats surrounded by wilderness and is the first private property on the river, so therefor the LAST property at the end of the road before the road goes into Forestry tracks. Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here.
It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay.
EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want.
The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like.
This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too.
Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals. We are very happy to host people who love nature and enjoy organic farm life. There is NO wifi or mobile phone reception ZERO, so you can finally enjoy total tranquility.

The 52 acre property is half pasture and half forest and separated by the Patersonia rivulet that runs through the middle. The campsite is located in a gorgeous pine forest in a clearing with access to the river being a two minute walk down a hill. You can enjoy fishing in the river on site and mountain walks on Mount Arthur.
To camp on our property you need to be fully self contained and take all waste with you.

Situated in the middle of Cressy (20-minute drive from Launceston) on an acre and a half. You are guaranteed a secured place to stay and enjoy a few days, whether it’s just resting before moving on or heading down to the local rivers for a fish. The famous Rustic Bakehouse and Ringwood Hotel are just down the road.
Dog friendly. You'll need be self-contained with own amenities. Guests must be over 18 and must be in a self-contained vehicle. No tents.
Cressy is Tasmania's only 'troutified' township as the local area is a mecca for fly fishing. Located 34 km south west of Launceston, Cressy is a small, attractive, and historically significant town which came into existence in the 1850s to service the surrounding wheat farms.

Recently had a nights stay at Charlys farm and couldn’t recommend it more! We camped right by the river, swam in the refreshing water and had a campfire in the already established fire pit (thank you Charly)! There were several dogs (of all shapes and sizes) that greeted us and we spent the majority of our time with their beautiful Great Dane, Shilo. Important to note, whilst the dogs bark, they were all incredibly friendly and Charly offered to put them away several times if they were a bother. The paddock was filled with free roaming horses, cows and goats who even let us pet them! We had plenty of privacy and a short walk to the flushing toilet made it a very pleasant stay. If coming from Launceston, we travelled on Roses Tier Road from Upper Blessington, onto Gunns Road and turning left onto Upper Esk Road. Whilst it was steep, windy and gravelly, we found it easy to navigate.

An absolute amazing experience and place to stay. Beautiful bush setting by the river. Seeing the water and tide go in and out was magnificent. We brought our pup and had a wonderful fire of the evening. Do yourself a favour and stay here you won’t be disappointed.

This is a magical spot, we were spoiled with a magnificent view from our camp site watching the tide coming in and out. Sarah and Mark were fantastic hosts and the kids were very friendly and joined our kids in some games. We bought some firewood from Mark and had a sensational fire. We would definitely recommend this site!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of. The space is a mix of bushy or open with the ability to choose where best suits you to set up. We followed the hosts suggestion to camp in an open area away from a large group for more peace and quiet.
My friend and I booked two sites and had our 4 dogs with us who were able to have them off lead and they were much happier and relaxed than when they have to be secured. They also had the kids come and play with them which they absolutely loved.
We really enjoyed having the kids show us the estuary and crabs. We really felt like we were an extension of the family during our stay and would happily stay here solo.
Looking forward to staying here again soon!

We loved our 2 night stay at Cherry Top Farm. Loved waking up to the sound of birds and the walk to the toilet through the garden beds was lovely. They have a PowerPoint to charge your phone and a tap to fill up water bottles. Super easy to get to Launceston and we made use of the public pool down the road that has free hot showers. They were also kind enough to give us some of their produce!

Amazing outlook from a spacious grassy area to a beautiful river with lovely bird life around the gum trees. After a tentative drive through the bush we were greeted by the friendly host and chose from various flat sites to be near a picturesque communal firepit complete with log seating. We loved the fishing from the river and time around the fire and would highly recommend this site to anyone. A short drive to the beach and other sites and friendly hosts.
